Latest News Flash I, Galen Salad Martindalefish, 50 y.o with 5 years on my Buell this July, am getting my....Motorcycle Endorsment! I know it's crazy, foolish, and all the rest, but soon I will be able to TEST RIDE DANGEROUS EQUIPTMENT OF THE ZOOMY KIND. Passed the written just the other day, with my drive test set 2 days befor our Datona hoot, riding-season-kick-off! I'm thinkin' Betty will give 'em pause, but she's legal with the possible exception of her rather robust exaust note. Smoke 'em if ya got 'em! sooner, Galen |

Galen, My big bit of advice is to practice the course before the test. Like most bureaucracy things, the M/C drivers test doesn't have a thing to do with actual riding skill. The M/C drivers test book tells you what you will have to do and maybe, just maybe, the painted lines are still visible on the blacktop behind the stores on the S.E. side of 19th and Bridgeport where the licensing place used to be. Good Luck. |

Hey all, Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a race header for an X1. Mine cracked as the result of a broken muffler mount. I had it welded and polished and fixed real nice and then noticed that it's starting to crack again. Shite! I just recently started lurking on the BadWeb again and the Daytona Party is sounding more like the drunken debauchery required to get prepared for the riding season, though Galen's is in full shwing. I'll talk to Stu, Jim and Sporty Eric. How close are the accommodations to being full? Harv |

Bib, if nothing else, floor space should be good! And galen, ignor ray/he's full of sh-t! I'm sure you can ride circles around the course.Hopefully Betty won't buck you off (being legal and all) Loni just can't wait to see you.Lots to talk about. Still raining Deb |

Harv, I think that since Mike and Kim are bringing the trailer we have just a few spots left. I know that Eric wants to save his time and $$ for the bigger rides so he won't make it. If you, Stu, and Jimmy want to make it that would be fine. I have to say then we will be full! Nobody should have to crash on the floor! Deb and Kim, What do we want to do for dinner Sat night? Going out would be alot easier, doing a BBQ would be great, give me your thoughts and ideas OK. Take care! |

Hey, did you hear about the agnostic, dyslexic, insomniac who stayed up all night wondering if there was a dog? Hey, speaking of dyslexia: The Drivers License course is (or was) on the S.WEST corner of 19th and Bridgeport. Not SE like I said. Hey, speaking of what I said: I'm not dis'ing anybody's riding ability but..... I mean, hey, Galen and Debbie are both better riders than I am or ever will be. But how many times have you done a u-turn in your single car driveway lately? You have do just that on the drivers license exam. I say practice the course. Either that or suffer the indignity of having to admit to one and all that you fell on your head and/or failed the test. |

Hey, RAY2K, I know no dis'n was involved. I know they ask you to do dumb stuff, but I think I'm ready for 'em. Of course I am quite full of myself... I know the cop trick to slo riding, you drag the rear brake under power. My test is over on 64th and s.Yakima behind the store. I passed it on my Yammie 750 triple back in '79. And I've been getting to ride alot over the last couple weeks, so I'm back to a pretty good comfort level. I thought of a palendrome the other day studing a book of occult...ah, information. Lets all chant together; "Arise dog God Esira". Esira being some kind of a dog God. soulless in Seattle, Galen |

I did the test this year and it was cake. Tracie is a brand new rider, only had the bike out of second gear a few times, and has dumped the bike at a stop even, ( I love ya hunny. ) well, she passed the endorsment test also. They do have you do a few things that dont happen often, but all in all it was easy. It might be difficult if you had to do it on a bagger or something. |

The test is easy enough most anybody can pass it. If you dont clearly understand what they want you to do, ask them, its their job to explain to you what they want. some of the evaluators are p----s and they will fail you on the slightest. I know a gal who has the worst eye hand coordination ever, and she passed with a 100%. Beat me by 2% ( man that pissed me off). A large part of the credit goes to SuperBob, who built her a simulator for braking and clutch action, Known as "the Ninjalator" she had Ninja 500. She actually became a decent rider, something i never thought would have happened. Anyways the test isnt that bad somebody with decent experience should not have any problem, I think people skills are more important with the evaluators. way past my 2 cents thndrboy |

Shotgun, I remembered you saying you had done an oil change on the blast recently, so I never checked it. But tonight I went out to start the bike and it didnt start, then later started and died shortly after while still warming up. After checking the oil, it isnt even showing on the stick?? We have not even put 200 miles on the blast yet. Has the bike burned oil before? Any thoughts?? |

Just got off the phone with Speed3/Deb, she wanted me to relay some news to everyone. Seems Brandon and Duane were out enjoying an afternoon ride in the Bonney Lake area yesterday and both went down. Details are still comming in but I'll relate what is known. Brandon was at the point in a tight curve and somehow tangled with a car. He is at Harbor View Hospital in stable condition. Duane was following Brandon and went down low side in some gravel. He is at Tacoma General Hospital in good condition. I'm sure more information will be posted as it becomes available. I just got off the phone with Speed3/Deb. Brandon is still in stable condition. No news there. Duane had surgery today on his knee, requiring some pins and some loss of bone. He is doing fine but is a lot of pain. Please everyone say a prayer for Duane and Brandon . Galen, Deb needs you to call her either on the home phone or the cell. If you need either call me. 360-798-7460 or 360-896-3167. Loni |

Branden, the oil will not show on the stick until the engine is hot. Before then, nothing. You put more in without checking hot and it will end up on the back tire. |

shotgun, the bike was ran the other day and it was good, ran great. This time I started it, it ran for like 5 minutes or so then just died. I couldnt get the thing to start again for a few minutes. It started again, but did the same thing, warmed up and Tracie went to head down the drive and CHUG CHUG, it dies and again will not start, so I check the oil and there is nothing showing on the stick... Best wishes to those involved in the accident |

Yikes! Oh no for my buddies! "Stable condition" sounds bad. And Duane's knee. Not good. The designer of the knee joint should have been fired ages ago and a recall put out. My thoughts will be with both of them. I'm wishing bad that I could make it down, but the (notoriously unstable) home life requires my presence (to remain stable.) And other Brandon (S1), I'd suggest that you dump the oil and refill just for your own piece of mind, although if it didn't have oil enough to run, I'd think the lifters would clatter something awful. Maybe tank vent? Water in fuel? Although that glowing header didn't sound right. |

Femor has steel rod in place, right arm 1 break above (was set) two breaks below elbow (pins in place). Will start waking him up today. Keeping him sedated for pain reasons. Dr. says his outlook is good! Thank god for his protective gear he was wearing.Duane is in lots of pain. But damn he looks good with no clothes on his upper bod!!! Ribs hurt like hell, heel bad, Dr. will work on that later. Left knee now pinned. Bikes will be picked up today by Bob and Steve. Life goes on THANK GOD!Brandons mom thanks everyone for all the thoughts and prayers. And visitors are welcome after a few more days. He will be at Harborview atleast 2 weeks. Deb |

Brandon and Duane - Mike, Cody and I are thinking about you both and keeping you in our prayers. We are also praying for Lisa and Brandon's family, this must be very trying on them as well. Duane - you must be in a severe amount of pain, but if you find that you just need to get out of the house this weekend and can handle the car ride down, we would all love to see you and wrap a very tender not so squeezy hug around you to let you know how much you are loved. Brandon - I knew you were one bad mother - but crap you are also stubborn - and for that we are all grateful, keep on fighting and get well soon. God speed on your recovery- Kimberlie, Mike & Cody (Message edited by kimberlie on March 07, 2005) |

S1Hooligan, unless you have a puddle of oil in your garage, I'd bet the oil level is ok, not run long enuf to get it on the stick. But like Eric says, easy enuf to change it out too. Most Blast owners have a story to tell about overfilling when they only checked it cold. |
