it has been my experience that no they won't get it for cost but they do get it for a price much lower that we as a regular retail customer can.. |

Sorry KEEF it was a typo not intentional. And I am not Buell bashing I am voicing my feeling about the changes Buell has made, have you seen me basing the machine? Some people just get angry so easy, cool off guy I have not stepped on your toes you are a great mechanic from what I see and lets share without getting personal to those that have an opinion. To Court: It's been a while sense I've seen you. Maybe we'll meet again this year. I know you mean well on this thread. Zeus did a great job for us. Heck he even joined the club and didn't even own a bike. We got him so pumped about Buells. He figured out what the dealership needed to do to be the kind of dealer for the Buells. It's hard to go to Topeka from KC. all the time. They are not what they once used to be. Mike has a lot of responsibility being a young owner. Buell was going threw a lot when he acquired the dealership. He moved to the new store. He had to concentrate on paying the bills and Buell wasn't much help at that time. Denny really did a lot for the brand. Not to say Mike wouldn't but I do understand you have to pay the bills. Even tho I may not like it. But thats what he had to do. He didn't have time to put a lot into it. He did have others but they didn't have the desire like Denny did. We tried to get things going with them but no go. So we started working with Central. Heck Their guys bought their Buells from Topeka. Any way thats the long and short of it. To those that don't know Court, he bought Buell in the beginning. He was and is still very involved with the brand. He is as we are, a motorcycle enthusiast. All I'm saying Court things have changed here. I wish I had know about your frame problem Zeus. I would have called Court to see if he could have called one of his contacts to help you. Yea you should not have had to but maybe we could have got it worked out. You would have had no reason to call me on this. You would not have known nor would I if he could have helped your situation. Some times the people we know can help us work around things that shouldn't be. I hope this isn't coming off wrong. Scott my friend I was sad to see you say what you said. But hey We're Family. Kinda sounds like Italian ehh. Any way to any of you out there that doesn't know Court he is hooked up, if you get my meaning. He used to work for Buell. He speaks with Eric often. He is our friend. |

Yes the heart and drive Topeka USED to have for Buells,is just the---USED TO HAVE.If they are the Buell dealer in that area that is sad.Things for Buell have changed at that dealership and it hasnt been a positive change. If it wasnt for Dave in parts,I wouldnt bother ever going there. Court,I dont think it very smart,to force you to take your Buell to the only place that is chosen that can work on it.That is a monopoly isnt it?Lets face it,the motors havent really changed much since the 1950's,so it doesnt take a rocket scientist to work on them. Our Buells are just harder to work on because of their frame design, and there are a few tricks working on them you wont find in the service manual. Most HD mechanics dont want to work on them for that very reason, but the ones who are willing and want to do the work, should be able to.PERIOD!I'm not understanding how this change, preventing other HD dealers and mechanics from working,or doing any warranty work on Buells has RAISED THE BAR?I've talked to a few salespersons over the last few years, and been to HD dealers who were forced to carry Buell bikes that were'nt really interested in them, these were partially Buell dealers. But at least you could have them order parts for you or if you couldnt work on your bike, they would attempt it.Now you have to take your bike to a certain dealer, order parts from that certain dealer, have that certain dealer do all warranty work, and if you cant work on your own bike, they will ATTEMPT to work on it. |

Ya, I think its funny that because I know about computers and Tim doesn't, I’ll change all the setting so his laptop becomes mine. It’s like buying the old lady a torque wrench, if she doesn't know how to use it she won't. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Anyway I really didn't see were Topeka HD poured money into their Buell line. Maybe they spent a lot on the vintage Buell in their museum, but for accessories and parts I'm not sure where the big money was spent. But if Court is hooked up then he knows better than me, I've been wrong once or twice in my short life. Not to mention sounds like Court puts more miles on his Buells during one riding session than I do in 6 months. I'll tell ya one thing Topeka has a sweet dealership for HD's, and if that’s what is being referred to as pouring in money on the buell line, I think that the step children lost out on that purchase cause the walls are covered in HD stuff not Buell. And in my mind that in no way justifies being a better Buell dealer than anyone else. I'm not sure I agree with Buells resent business decisions, because in the long run its going to turn people off to the line. From the discussion here I can say its already starting for some. I would say the better way to look at ROI "Return On Investment," would be this way. If Topeka spends more money on their Buell franchise maybe they should do a better job and sell more Buells. Pushing out other dealerships will only add to the inflation of “centralized bad service,” that Buell owners have dealt with in the past. It sucks that once we find a dealer that caters to our needs they are deemed, not big enough. Not only did they loose the ability to sell us Buells in the future, they can no longer order parts from the factory to get us good deals. I wonder if Gails will allow me to walk right into their maintenance area and pick a mechanics brain like Central did. I've already tried, I got as far as the pop machines, let me tell you, those are pretty nice pop machines and Gails has a great selection of soda. Just this last weekend I buzzed up to Central to show Frank my new exhaust, pulled right up to the back door next to his work bay and gave her hell a bit to get his attention. I was met with a smile and a how the hell are ya JJ. I hope in the future I can do the same at any HD&Buell servicing dealership in the future. When I go into Gails I feel like I’m walking into a Casino, don’t really know anyone who works there and I feel like Big Brother is watching my every move. Not to mention no one has asked me to meet a few mechanics or even look around where the wrenches are turned. If I remember right two days after I purchased my Buell, Sam and Frank got a hold of me at Central and talked my ear off. Not to mention Frank welcomed me into his work area, and answered my questions without rolling his eyes because I was a newbie. Gail is off to a good start, but she has a ways to go to match Frank and Central. I guess if I don’t feel right about Gails being our chosen dealership I will just buy my own parts and call Frank a hell of a lot. |

(in a feeble attempt to hijack this thread and change the subject... totally distracting everyone from the controversy at hand) Hey everyone... If I go to Iraq... who wants a souvenir? I don't think they will have "My buddy went to Iraq, and all I got was this t-shirt" t-shirts! Suggestions (keep it clean and politically correct!) Maybe a hand full of sand??? |

I'll take any sort of used military equipment (shells, casings, etc.) When my brother was over there (stationed at Diego Garcia...island in the Indian Ocean) he brought me back firing pins from live bombs that were dropped out of a B1 on Afghanastan. That was a cool souvenir! At the time he was a Crew Chief for the B1's. Now he is on the B2's. |

"I am ready for my close up now!" "Beer... we should offer beer!" "We should not have participated in the testing of experimental drugs." "Damn the torpedos... full speed ahead." "Greetings earth creatures... I come in peace!" "Erik who!?" "I fell for that once, and now I ham trapped in HIS head." "Can't we all just get along?" "Remember the Alamo!" Yes, Indeed... their rental cars are nicer than Enterprise!" "ENTERPRISE!!! Scotty... beam me up!" "When I nod my head, hit it." "Ouch!!! Not my head!" "Ooh, that's gonna leave a mark!" "I believe there is no intelligent life on Earth!" "Boss, boss... the plane, the plane!" "Tonto, Wait here... I will handle this!" "What is it Lassie, did little Timmy fall in the well?" "QUICK EVERYONE... RUN AND HIDE... HERE COMES THE GUYS WITH THE STRAIGHT JACKETS!"

Dennis, I'll take any Iraq shirt that wasn't once an American shirt. Loren, I would have rode this morning but my electric suit malfunctioned, for some reason they left out the heating element and there weren't any wires coming out of it to plug into the battery. I was thinking maybe we could make a trade and see if my suit would work for you. HaHa. |

Frank has got alot on his plate.(insert fat boy jokes here) He's building a Jeep off rode only toy. He's also building three into one Ford 4x4 tow vehicle, for the Jeep and track bike he put together last year. And now the city is on his back about too many vehicle's. Poor guy. But he's keeping a close eye on the calender for up coming track day's. He said he's going to make it to as many as possible this year. |

Zhdman... Thanks for the help you are giving Sharon. You are VERY welcome at the BRAG meetings. I'd love to see both you and the Frankster at a meeting, or at one of our rides. You do not have to be a member to come to the meetings or the rides. If you want to be a member... cool... but don't let that keep you or Frank away. |

Dennis, Are you sure about this move??? Just saw this . . . SJR - March 2, 2005 "In the deadliest single strike since the fall of Saddam Hussein, a suicide car bomber attacked mostly Shiite police and National Guard recruits lined up for physical exams at a medical clinic Monday, killing 115 and wounding 132 there and at a nearby market." Mentally unstable at times or not, we would still like to have you around for entertainment purposes! Keith |

Tim, the tail bag cleaned up real nice and looks near new. Okay, so I'm not so tough riding with the heated clothing. LOL That has been the biggest bang for the buck I have spent on the bike. I have been riding every day and I'm not an icicle when I get to work. The money I'm saving in gas is just about paying for the gear. Dennis can you bring me back a slightly used Hummve. If you can find one without a lot of bullet holes in the critical mechanical part, that would be cool. |
