Has anyone changed their stock mirrors to the bar end type? If so, what do you recommend and do you have pics of the mirrors on the bike? |

I just added a pair of CRG bar end mirrors to my S1. They work great and the quality is excellent. No more staring at your shoulders in the mirrors plus it gives the bike a much better look. I have access to a lathe so I just modified my bar end weights to accept the mirrors but you can also get adapters to make the mirrors bolt right up. American Sport Bike carries the mirrors and the adapters. Here's a couple pics of my S1 with the mirrors mounted. Hodakaguy , ,

They arn't the cheapest mirrors out there. They range around $70 - $80 each side. I looked at several different ones and just liked the look and the build quality of these so I ended up spending the extra for them. Everyone I've talk to that runs them loves them, you rarely ever see them come up for sale used. Hope this helps. Hodakaguy |

these aren't bar end mirrors, but i've been really happy with the design... they're made by napoleon (the same company that makes the "baren" mirror) and mount in the stock location... but they're much lower profile, and can be adjusted (in much the same way as their bar end design)... and they're pretty cheap ($30).

John, Here's what I just put on my M2. You can barely see them in my profile pic. They work great no vibration at all. Just checked the link for more info on those mirrors...they're made of plastic, for bicycles, which might have a little to do with why they are moving on you... I had a set of the cat eyes which are similiar to the crg's except they are plastic but I could not see well with them. I ended up putting the stock ones back on. I think I may have to try those Napolean APT-104's they look like they might work well. Ken |

lil' bug: with the way they're set up right now, my forearm (wrist to elbow) gets in the way of a direct rear view... i can see adjacent lanes just fine, and simply move my elbow to see right behind me... that works for me because i use them mainly for lane changes. |

I have to dip my arm to get a decent rear view or lane check with the stock mirrors. I may have to give the napoleons a try. Thanks |

I use Napoleons (bar end style) on both my Buells. I like 'em a lot.

I use the CRG's on my Triumph and I want to put some on my S2, but I'm not sure what to put in place of the factory mirrors. I was thinking of making a mount and putting some driving lights up there. |

Just installed my crossroads bars last night, stock mirrors look like they may actually work out pretty well. Very little arm showing at all. |

The Napoleon bar-ends are great. No more bobbing and weaving to get your shoulder/elbow/oversized jacket out of the way. I wish they looked half way decent on my VROD and it would have them too. |

Chad, will they work on the 1" bars on the S-2?Just make some cover plates from aluminum and either polish or paint them to match the fairing |

I could make an adapter that slides inside the bar, or modify one of the adapters that they sell and I think it would work. |

Hey Devdawg, They start of pretty good, its when I reach higher speeds that they go to s**t. I bought some more and applied velcro to where it swivels and they are holding up great. I need to buy some of the napoleon's, but this was a quick inexpensive fix till I buy some better ones. Thanks. |

FMJ, I put a set of bar-ends on my S2, I just made some adapters, like Chewy said. I got tired of those saggy- stock mirrors, I couldn't see doodly out of 'em anyway. I made some blanking plates out of aluminum to replace the mirrors where they hold the fairing on. rt |

John, Roger that...too bad they don't hold up better. I really like the look of them. I have a set of napoleon's that I doubt I'll use now. I like the little ones I just put on. I was considering putting them on my Triumph ('73 TR7V) instead of the M2...but I doubt I will. Let me know if you're interested. One is a little scuffed, but I'm sure it can be sanded and painted. I'll take a couple of pics and send them if you want. |
