S2pengy, yes, but this subharness assembly has the wiring for the tacho drive and an additional bulb holder for the tacho illumination. The part is required to fit a '98 S1 tach to a '97 M2. I have the existing M2 harness modified with exra wires, but an original would be much neater. Thanks. Steve steve_s@ukbeg.com www.ukbeg.com |

Steveshakeshaft Keep an eye on ebay for a S1 wiring harness would be my suggestion.. Also everytime anyone on this site mentions parting a S1 out I would drop them a note... |

68742-96Y was made obsolete and superseded by Y0625.9A. They show the Franklin Distribution Center having 3 of the Y0625.9A’s on hand In addition here are all the folks who have the 69742-86Y

Now....let's check to make certain it was PROPERLY SUPERCEDED. Let's see if we can order the 68742-96Y and get you what you need. In the meantime, I'll see if we can get someone smarter than you and better looking than me to do a "sanity check" and see if "or equal" really is. Since you are in London England Britain United Kingdom, if you'll send me an e-amil and remind me, I'll call a couple of the dealers tomorrow. If someone, as they say, "within the sound of my voice" is near one of these dealers, check it out.....for goodness sake, don't let me go another night with Steve's bulb being dim.

FMJH: Go ahead and drop the dime..... Steve is far, far away in London England Britain United Kingdom, let's see if we can do some of the leg work for him. In fact, let me know which one of them you get and I'll arrange to get the other. R&D wants to compare the harnesses to insure compatibility. Let's do this before Steve invests in overseas freight. Thanks for your help.... Court |

Court, Jim, Buellidan, all, I am staggered by the activity. But then it's BadWeb, so I don't suppose I should be surprised! I can confirm that I have had the later part number in my hand, supplied by a US dealer and I unfortunately had to send it back. What a nightmare with the UK customs. The US authorities and the US dealership were (as ever) superb at dealing with the problem. Buellidan has a used one that I think he may part with, but if I can get my hands on a new one as well as a used one I will put one safely to one side in my little store of "strategic spares for the long term". Guys, I'm truly grateful. Regards Steve. steve_s@ukbeg.com www.ukbeg.com |

Court, that makes three of us then. If I had a pound for ever stagger.... you know the rest of the story! FMJ, sold to this waving the pound notes. Please advise the logistics. Shall I call the dealer directly and have them ship it? Thank you all very much indeed. Why I didn't ask here first a few months ago I don't know. Suppose I just don't want to make work for folks. Court, Talon and H-D Net are useful tools, aren't they? I just wish all dealers used Talon. I've had to resort to cold-calling dealers who don't just to be sure a part was available, or not. But it sure is nice to be able to find that one part you need, somewhere. |

I never had to use LiteSpeed. Just lucky, I guess. I don't work in parts, anymore. The only time I'll be using Talon will be to order parts for our Rider's Edge and Rental bikes. Not a complaint, as I'll get ride more, taking new customers for orientation rides, and such. Yep, paid to ride motorcycles. Wow. |

Court, bit late getting on here today, ADSL line was down earlier. Anyhow, no I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you all(yet). I look forward to the day, and I feel the place hopefully might be Bonneville someday. I work near London, so I'm there Monday > Friday, but I actually live near Manchester, about 200 miles North by road. I definitely want that part. I am in no hurry because I've just finished my winter overhaul and spruce up on the Buell. So the wiring will stay as it is until Winter '05 dawns. If you or FMJ, or whoever, would like to let me know how to pay you I will send the dollars or pay you by PayPal. Which ever is preferred. A hand couriered delivery to London would be way cool and I can wait. If for some reason, I wasn't around, I have many Buelling friends in the London area who would take delivery for me. I can be mailed on steve_s@ukbeg.com as required to discuss further. Again, many thanks. Steve www.ukbeg.com |

FMJH: Get the part. Steve: e-mail me your shipping address. SD: We'll forego the courier this time. I'd have to explain it to Jim, you'd have to explain it to the Queen. FMJH: I'll call tomorrow and we'll get the pieces of the puzzle pushed together. |

Court, thanks a bunch. We are really lucky with the UK Buell scene, some very dedicated folks pull the stops out to organise things. Through the better months we have at least one meeting a week somewhere in the UK. This year there's been a few meetings thru the winter too which have been very successful. There's something a bit special about Buell riders for sure. I've mailed you earlier, I can be contacted thru my usual email address steve_s@ukbeg.com. Thank you and FMJ and all for the support. Looking forward to meeting you someday in the hopefully not too distant future. Regards Steve www.ukbeg.com |
