Well everyone it has happened. JJ busted his ARSS on the 50 today, the bad part is he bent the rear brake lever, broke the front brake lever off and oh ya he got hurt too, but come on now we are talking about the damage he did to the 50. Hopefully we will have the bike back up and running tomorrow. I ask for everyones prayers during this down time for the 50.

The fifty kicked my today. I have a bent down tube. A scratched and swelling swingarm, and my pride got dented a bit. Other than that I'm ok. Tomorrow is gonna suck though. Peace out all.

Enp83, I agree w/Mr.Bill. The Xb9's are great motorcycles, and have all the potential of a true streetfighter, not to mention they have good road manners in traffic. If I had the extra money right now,the City Cross we have in stock would be in my garage. But let's face it,that Xb12,with the race kit, is just short of a BEAST. And when I talk about road manners, I was cruzin' back from lunch one day last summer, thinking to myself, "Do I have a fever," "Why am I even going back to work on such a Glorious day." When here comes MR.1-Ton thru the light. I didn't downshift our anything, just nailed the gas and I was gone. Simply put, more torque then you'll (hopefully) ever need. The 9's are sweet, but,if you got the GRAPES, get the 12.

Rode to Gails tonight to chat with my buddies in the dyno shop, and met a guy who had just purchased a XB 12R.I didnt get to chat with him much because I was involved in something and it looked like he was trying get everything together to leave. The bike was pushed out in front of the service doors, maybe they were getting ready to SET-UP the suspension for him,as part of the SET-UP charge. He was in his midtwenties, purely a guestimation, and said it was the first bike he has ever owned.I thought that was cool, picking a BUELL for a first time bike!I asked if he had been told about the BRAG club,he said he had.I stuck around till about 7:45 or so while Mike was mapping a guy I knows Victory.Rode at at a brisk pace,no electric gear, didnt bother with the short ride there, wasnt bad............but Im only about 15 minutes or so from Gails.

Dennis and Shazam,

If I recall correctly, you both have bike to bike comm gear. Think about bringing it for the group ride I'm leading on 3/20. My father in law is coming, and he'll have a radio too. I think this will help shepard the herd.

Dennis, I'll have maps, waypoints and ride rules for everyone per our earlier discussion.

Zues, the seat I now have feels great. It is by far LOTS better than stock and if im not mistaken, made by Saddleman.I cant say about a Corbin, they are supposed to be good seats, but they are proud of them.Ive noticed quite a few going on E-bay,but the one I have now seems to do the job.If I remember correctly, you have to ride 1500 miles or something like that before the Corbin in broken in,they say.

Paul, not sure if your pegs made it or not. I'll check for you Monday. I'm off Sat., two of my son's have basketball games, so I'm taking the day off. But if the pegs where still on order, than I can't get them for you. Buell turned off Central's dealer number, so we can't get anything with a Buell part number. I had atleast 5 or more people waiting for parts, and one poor guy was waiting for a frame, when they did all this. Luckily, other dealer where able to help get the parts, but, Central had to eat the cost difference. Wich kinda sucks, good thing my M2 use more Sportster parts, then other models do. So I'm going to buy all I can from work, while I can get a discount.

I don't think we can even do recall's or warranty work either. When I called to see what was taking soo long on getting the new frame, Buell said we should take the wreck to a Buell dealer. I said when I ordered the damn thing a month ago we where a Buell dealer! All they said was sorry we cant help you. We still have new bikes on the floor, but I can't get a spark plug or an oil filter, for one. THAT IS A BRILLIANT WAY TO DO BUSINESS FOLKS.

What a freakin mess anyhow!!

By the way, good to see you are spending your weekends with the boys, time goes to fast, and they grow up way to fast to give up that kinda time!

Test rode an '05 XB12R at Gail's Friday afternoon. Before today I wasn't sure about getting the 9 or 12, Firebolt or Lightning, but after today's short test ride I'm all but locked on the XB12R. The ergos felt on par with my '03 SV650S but I'm guessing the reach to the clipons is shorter, felt like I didn't have to lean forward as far.

I was surprised to see that the XBs don't have a temperature gauge on them at all? Or did I just miss it? That's a little unnerving, I'd like to know when it's warm enough to get on it or when it's getting too hot. I heard the fan come on after the ride, that doesn't bother me at all...I like the idea that it's trying to help keep it cool.

Even with the stock exhaust it sounded alright, definately a different sound than the RC51/TLR/SVs I've ridden...both types of twins sound killer with a nice exhaust imo. I was a little surprised at how much the bike shook at idle, I had seen this on non XB Buells but I guess assumed the XB wouldn't do it nearly as much. As others mention though, once underway it didn't seem to vibrate anymore than a TLR/RC51 (I know XBs and TLR/RC51 are
different types of animals, but they're the only other large v-twins I've ridden).

The clutch pull didn't bother me nearly as much as I thought it would from feeling it on the showroom. The throttle grip felt a little more touchy than my SV's, that was kind of unnerving during shifts and slow speed corners...but I think that's mainly due to being unfamiliar with the bike as I've felt this same feeling on other bikes that weren't my own.

I was expecting just a smidge more punch from the motor, but definately not disappointed...it would certainly be more fun to ride than my SV, and once I get mine it won't stay stock for very long either .

I forgot about the belt drive altogether, I was curious how it would feel compared to a chain too after reading up on it. Now that I think about it, maybe that's part of the reason the throttle seemed a bit more touchy?

Buell's 0 down/0% APR/0 payments for 90 days promotion ends March 31st, I may try to pull the trigger mid-late March. If it doesn't happen then it'll certainly happen come June or July. I think last year Buell had the 0/0/0 thing going on during summer too...I don't need that to get the bike, but it might help me get it a couple months early.

They had a CityX on the floor next to the other XBs and you can EASILY see the different profile between the D207s and the CityX's tires. The D207s looked wider and "flatter"/shorter in the center of the tread compared to the tires the CityX was wearing.

>>>THAT IS A ••••••• BRILLIANT WAY TO DO BUSINESS FOLKS.

Agreed. The last time I was in Central, the way I was treated was a shame. I walked across the parking lot and bought 2 Hondas.

Buell is shipping ALL parts within 24 hours of order receipt. Most Buell dealers will have "tip over parts" like footpegs in stock.

Buell did not arbitrarily, as has been suggested, just screw some Buell dealers out of their dealerships.

I think Buell did, and I do not believe the shipping within 24 hours trash, I have never experienced any such thing when I order parts. I will not buy another Buell, when my wife and I replace the two we have they will not be Buells with the way it is I can not take the bike where I bought it for service I have to travel across town for anything now. I will also tell people looking for a bike what they have done. BUELL STINKS

Scott,
So when the car dealer you bought your car from , near your home changes to another brand, you will switch to another brand of auto too, huh....Gails lobbied Buell, and the other dealers in the area principals all AGREED to letting Gail's be the BUELL dealer for the whole Kansas City area mostly because THEY didn't like messing with BUELLS in the first place mostly because the profit margin on a BUELL is so low for them and all they want to sell are HARLEY DAVIDSONS PERIOD.So in essence you are way off base slamming BUELL hell I'll give you a 100.00 for your ole' S-2 since you don't want it anymore and keep it for spare parts along with ALL the other spare parts I have been purchasing for the last year or so .....I try to avoid getting in these kind of bullsh*t crying posts but I am fed up with the whinning Buell bashing that is going on here, go buy a Jap bike and wait until you need parts I have been there parts are shipped from J fin pan that takes weeks IF they still make the part that is and you think Buell parts are high well thank Harley for the increase in the price for the parts on Buells

Court. You got a problem with something I said? You work for the company? Let me tell you a few things. I worked my off to get the parts, clothing, and accessories, for the local guy's, the mobber's, the people who showed me how important their Buell where to them. It's no secert, that when you usually walked up to Harley part counter buell guy got treated like 3%. And how they put up with it for soo long is beyond me. So thanks to Bill, Dennis, Sam, Frank, Paul F., Scott, Neal, Trip, Mark W., Keith, and of course Richie. With out these guy I could've gave a less what happened, but instead, I did all I could. So. The next time you feel the need jump into the middle of our conversation, with out all the facts, or with out meeting me first, expect the same greeting. Courts dismissed.
