It is off of an 03 XB9S. It has about 1000 miles on it +- before I changed it to Yellow. Any marks would/should be VERY minor. |

Right now and until these are gone, Central has one 2004 XB12S in Black for $9600, two 2004 XB12S in Red, also for $9600 each. One 2004 XB12R in Red for $10,500 it has a Tailbag, Saddlebags, Pro-Series Race ECM, Air Cleaner, and Ceramic Muffler. They also have one 2005 XB9SX City Cross and they only want $8695. If anyone is interested, the have (3)2003 Blast's for $3000, and (2)2004 Blast's for $3500. I hope you all know that I'm not a saleman for Central, I not happy about what Buell has done with their dealership's, but these seem like real good deals. |

Is Central the one off K7 and Shawnee Mission Parkway? I walked in there a few weeks ago to look at the XBs first the first time a couple years, soon as I walked in Hank Williams Jr. came on their jukebox/radio playing "Hog Wild". I was thinking, if I'm gonna be in a Harley dealership I want to hear that song atleast once while I'm there lmao. |

I have been kicking the idea of putting some stripes on my bike. I found a source for some vinyl decal material that matches the gold trim and wheels on the bike. These are some prototype shots. What do you guys think? I'm torn between the all black and the stripes

Looks cool! Reminds me of the old S2's kinda sorda--COOL! Check with me later, I am going to have my bike digitaly scanned by a buddy of mine in the decal buisness. We are going to attempt to "decal" everything, forks, tank, swing arm, intake, down to the wind screen. He's got this new stuff, that changes color with temprature, I can't wait to try it out. Hey Jeff, been wanting to get over there myself, I need to buy some parts that Zues ordered like two months ago or so. Pegs stuff. Paul |

I like the idea, I think it would look alright...but in these pictures it looks like the color is slightly different? If it's off in real life too I'd hold off, try and find some or get some made that are right on...or look into painting the stripe on. I asked this on the XB board but wanted to get more opinions on it too. Can you feel the difference in how quickly a XB-9 revs compared to a XB-12? How much of a difference is it (might be hard to express/say)? The salesguy at Gail's emailed me back this week and said their asking price on a '05 XB12S is the MSRP of $10,495 plus a freight and setup charge totalling $400 = $10,895 all together. I emailed him back saying it looks like it might be sunny and mid 50s on Friday to see about getting a test ride. Previously he had said that would be no problem, I told him I didn't care if it was a 9 or 12, Firebolt or Lightning. If he doesn't email me back by Wednesday evening I'll have to give him a call Thursday to give him a little notice and make sure he can make that happen. Buell announced on Feb 15th a "zero down/zero payments/zero interest" for 90 days (like they did last season or two). This could help me move on a new XB a couple months sooner, gonna fil out a finance application Friday to make sure I can get the 6.88% (ranged from as low as 6.88% but I have very little credit and will my dad <I'm 22yo college student btw> co-sign...his credit will be flawless) after the initial 90 days. |

Zhdman... Good to see you post. We totally understand... many of us are not happy about the Buell reorg either. And if you have been reading... we have had a bump or two with the club transition and related stuff. When does the new place open? We can make a mass Buell run to the grand opening! Let us know! You used to have a Buell back pack on the dummy (mannequin)next to the Buell stuff, do you still have it? This dummy was wanting what was on that dummy. The problem now is, if you do... what do I do? Sharon is now jobless, so I might not be able to talk the dummy into letting me use it. Otherwise she will know I am a dummy for spending money when we are short!!! Go... Ooooooh shiny!!!!! Yellow!!!!! Pretty!!!!! That would look good on black XB9S body work! |

If you shop around,Im sure you can get a XB12,for MSRP LESS the freight and set up charges. The dealer should pay the freight, theyre the ones selling the bike, and the bike is ready to roll right out of the box, whats there to set up,MAYBE a little suspension adjustment. Those are just phoney charges to drive the price up,that everybody accepts and pays. When I bought my Buell in 2000,didnt pay MSRP,and didnt pay freight or set up charges, they tried to get me to but I just said they were phoney and I wasnt going to pay them, they wanted to sell me the bike bad enough they waived them. |

Richieg, I hear ya. I always preach that to anyone looking at jap sportbikes (just cause I know a little bit more about those dealers). I know some (a lot of?) HD dealers think selling their bikes at MSRP is some huge favor for the customer. Again that $10,895 was just the asking price at Gail's The dealership in Topeka emailed me back saying their price including freight and setup was $10,495 (made 'em double check, so i guess they dont really charge for freight and setup). Does the factory ship XBs in creates like they do the Japanesse and Italian bikes? I know it varies from model to model but it seems like with most sportbikes today all they have to do besides oil/gas/etc is uncreate it, attach a mirror or two, maybe a windscreen, take some plastic off the seats and exhaust and it's pretty much ready to go. I hate it when you see a bike advertised for $1,000 off MSRP and then you call 'em up and they say Freight is $395 and setup is $350. Theres a place out of Erie, PA that has atleast 3 of the main jap manufacturers that always does that. You call 'em up and they tell you what MSRP is, they tell you their price which is $1,000 off MSRP and then they tell you that freight is $400-$500 and set up is $400-$500. I've seen some great deals on new XBs on cycletrader.com but they're usually not anywhere close, it'd be nice if they were somewhere quasi-near here. I'd like to buy from Gail's since they're local and support the club etc but I'm not going to be blind to other dealers in the area (KC metro and beyond). Here's some cool paint, but very expensive. http://www.trippininc.com/index.htm Paul ask your buddy if he his shop as any "Avery NEW GOLD A7810-R" film. It a very very close match to the wheels and gold decals on our bikes. I was thinking about buying a roll (10 yds) but I really only need 8' to 10' to do the bike. |

Dasbuell, someone beat you to the backpack,(Griswald)rumor has it. My understanding is 12-31-04 all permits expired on the new sight. So it's takin a little time and probably alot of money to get everything rolling again on the Olathe store. My guess is Oct-Nov 2005. More to come. |

Topeka (I've bought over a dozen bikes from them) will generally quote with freight and set up included. Don't be fooled into thinking that freight and set-up are not REAL costs, they are. Freight, a cost incurred by BuellDistCo., is charged directly to the dealer account on delivery. Set-up, a cost incurred by the dealer, is charged to the customer based on estimated time and the dealer labor rate. Lack of set-up-ability is why Buell does not deliver at the factory. The Buell requires, actually not so much as requires, but has a more methodical and comprehensive setup than some of the foreign sportbikes. Set-up, done right, is worth paying for. Court |

It is true that freaight and setup are real costs but alot of dealers absorb it and still make a nice proffit on the sale. It is important for the dealer to make a proffit to be there later for you when you have a need, but they do not have to sell at MSRP and can absorb the freight and setup and still make a reasonable proffit. Hey Sam I will trade you a stock 03 ECM for a performance one, that would make Tina happy to get a little mor go out of her XB. |

I will also mention that when I bought Tinas XB at Centeral about 18 months ago while they were much into the Buell sales they gave a great deal on it and I would bet they would even deal a little on the prices they listed the other day since they are geting out of the program. There is alot of ways to get more out of your deal, you can have them throw in a nice helmet and or some riding gear besides droping from MSRP. Some dealers get a kickback or make proffit from financing so you can finance it through them and pay it off early if you want. (Message edited by s2scott on February 23, 2005) |

Enp83 and anyone else is Central is building a second location in Olathe, but the store in Shawnee will remain. Central South (I wanted to call it South Central, but I think they where afraid of gang violence.)should be 2-3 times the size w/machine shop & maybe a DYNO. Atleast, that was the original talk things may have changed since Dec. I've seen the plans and there should be enough room, the service area is going to be huge. |
