The S1 was dropped off at H&H the other day, looks like for starters it is going to be 8.5 hours @ $57 an hour. Then we should know what is going on. He started the bike, smelt the exhaust, said turn it off, you have at least burnt pistons and rings, but it doesn't sound like anything catastrophic. I didn't really hear the pinging like we heard that day Shotgun, but we will see what he finds I guess. Between the S1, and the Blast needing a few things, I could have bought a race bike and hurt myself with you guys at the Track...Sigh....maybe some day, to be honest I don't even know how well I can ride anymore, my back seems to get worse every day. I don't know if I could stay on for long now. That will suck if I have to give up my favorite thing due to some azz. |

Galen, You are a poster child for unemployment! That picture is awesome. I love the way the chain link fence is casting a shadow on you and Betty, dang sweet. I've been riding here lately, but only to work. The morning temps are in the teens with afternoon highs mid 30s. Keep up the excellent work, or uh non-work. |

Help needed! I was wondering if anyone in the Portland/Vancouver could lend me a hand for a day. 6 weeks ago I had some major surgery to my left wrist, the doc had to open me up wide in 3 different places to fix some ligaments and tendons. anyway, I have been in a cast for the last 6 weeks and will be in one for the next 6 weeks. Need to do a fluid change, repack my race muffler and general maintenance stuff (nothing major) on the S3 to get ready for this spring when I can ride again. If anyone had a day to spare to give a hand, I would make sure there was plenty of food and liquids of choice flowing through out the day. Jim |

I probably should have posted this request here first but I sent it to the "general discussion" area...Rocky suggested I get here post haste...John (V2Win) and I are planning a northwest ride this summer right after the 4th of July...Here's some of what I said on the "gd" area...What we're looking for is local knowledge of roads that are a "can't miss" type of road...Like what are the top three or four roads in your states?...The very best roads here in Missouri and Arkansas are not "Scenic Byways" or such so you have to know about them from experience of from others...Were the Mt St Helens roads closed last summer?... We hadn't planned on going as far west as Portland and I-5 just to avoid the population center...Here's what we're doing so far after leaving the Glacier NP area...We're dropping down to Missoula and on to Lolo...Then running west on US12 into ID and WA...West of Yakima we're going NW on 410 over to Mt Ranier and then down 123...W again on 12 and then down 131 and some NF roads which appear to be paved eventually hooking up with the Wind River Rd...This will take us down the west side of Mt St Helens...Then back east on 14 on the north side of the Columbia crossing over to the south side at Hood River...We're riding the Hood River Loop run and then east to the Hell's Canyon Scenic Byway...I need to check out those National Forest Service roads we're planning on using to be certain they are paved...My mapping software (DeLorme) says they are but it has been wrong before... Thanks for your help, Bob |

Not sure about those NF roads by St. Helens? If I were you I would turn South at Randle off of 12 onto to 30, then follow that down the East side of St. Helens. Also If your planning on going to Hells Canyon I would drop down to central Oregon and go to Crater Lake then over to Hells Canyon. I did that ride last year and loved it! |

Loni, Are you up for a few Canuck visitor for the Daytona weekend? Don, Lorraine and I spoke a few weeks ago and are all very interested in doing a road trip to join you for this event. We might have a few extra seats in the van if others need a lift, as well. |

John, I can sleep Don and Lo in the spare room and 2-3 in the trailer then I am full (which galen is taking one space)! You are always welcome! Will you arrive on Friday? The races start real early Sat morning, 8 am. Since Galens cooking I would assume that we will eat around then too! Loni |

Mike and I are also offering up some space in our home and trailer (sleeps 5) to anyone who needs a place that is coming from CA or WA. Not sure, but Bob & Deb probably already have dibs on Cody's room I will try and secure off site care for both of the boys for the evening and then that would also free up little Cameron's room (full bed). Let me know so we plan accordingly. Let me know if we will be doing dinner at our house again the night before. Sounds like a good reason to get the bar-b-que fired up... Kimberlie |

I think Loni meant that if I'm cooking, every one should stop by Mcdonalds just befor you arrive...last I heard Bob&Deb were gona bring their big rig down for the sleeping and the wet work! Sure be a stone cold groove to see some of the Northern Lights down here! Johny you fill up that van! If this weather holds you'll all wish you were also riding two wheels, like me! Opps, now how did that get there again? sooner, Galen (Message edited by sparropie on February 20, 2005) |

Jim, Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out. I live in beaverton and am self employed so I have some time. (Daytona Party)If needed, Tracie and I have a spare room, but we live in beaverton, not exactly right up the road from Loni's. But we are planning on attending so transportation from my house to theirs shouldnt be an issue. As I remember it, we didnt really run into any roads that where closed last year at splash, but there was that 12 miles of re rocked asphalt 2 miles into the ride. (ok so I dont know that is was 12 miles, but it sure did feel like it)And then there was sportyeric and co who checked out a few BLM gravel roads, followed by a visit with the local popo (no ticket as I remember)I especially liked the remark about just needing better friends.....LOL...that chit cracked me up Eric. With a little help from my friends right?? |

A little retraction on my prior statement/post - due to a lack of communication in the Wood House. I guess it looks like Mike might even try and pull the trailer over (after he talks to Chris and Loni) and see about providing even more living quarters to keep the party all on sight. Sounds like a good time! It will be your one stop trailer hop. |

well it looks like the breakin was never done properly on the S1 according to Anton. So he said the rings never were able to seat correctly, causeing blow by. Also the valve seals were gone except one, due to heat caused my the blowby. So we are looking at a rebuilt uppper end, also going to replace the crank bushings and what nots while he is there. So, looks like about $1,300 in repairs, OUCH...Why did I sell my CBR600 again??? And why are the profile pictures not showing up under the names anymore? |

Branden, I've come to the delusion that the best thing about my decison to get my Buell is not the bike, but rather the fellow travellers I've met since the purchase. There are better bikes, but no better bunch to ride 'em with...up, down, and all around. And then there's Bobnuts off color humor about the Love that Dare not Speak it's Name....make's me very nervous. Where the heck is Jack at a time like this, sez I. Oh Lordy! sooner, Galen |

Deb, I will be alerting the neighbors tonight! I just hope none of them disagree! I don't think there will be a problem it's not like we do this every weekend, but I will be talking to them anyways. Randy, If Mike and Kim do bring up their trailer we should have enough room for you to crash at the house. The party is March 11-13. Kim, Did you get my message last night on your home phone? Call me when you get a chance OK. Gotta get back to work now, Loni |

Hey Gang!! I see the riding season looming before me and can't wait to see everyone! Loni, as planned during Border Raid Don and I are definitely coming down. We talked about bunking with Bob & Deb in the trailer if that's still okay. Eva will not be coming, she'll be too busy wrapping the Grandparents around her finger... lol We still have to confirm things with John about coming down and get your info, etc. I'll probably be calling Buellnuts sometime this busy weekend to get the dirt n details. Take care everyone! |

We will have enough room for everyone I am sure. Loni |

Galen, Bob and Eric: You guys better watch out, Buelly Dan is going yell at you for bashing Buells. Loni, you better be careful too. I was out wandering around on some thread on the Quick Board and I said that HD makes great cruisers but just doesn't get sportbikes and that's all it took! Buelly Dan told me to quit bashing Buells and somebody else told me to go ride my Triumph and quit posting on a Buell BBS. Galen sez: "There are better bikes..." Bob sez: "Think Triumph" Loni rides a Sportster (close but not close enough) and Eric sez there needs to be a picture of a HD guy being passed by a sports bike. You guys (Loni being a Guyette) are all way over the line. I'm going to tell the rest of the BBS what's going on here in the North West and you're going to get yelled at. Live in fear! |

So,Ray.Are you saying that I should keep my Triumph riding/ownership a secret? Some people just don't get it.ALL BIKES are FUN!!!!Jeez how boring would it be if everyone liked the same stuff.I would have at least a dozen bikes if I could, probably all from different manufacturers,Aprilia,Buell,KTM,Ducati,Moto Guzzi,Honda, definetely a Hayabusa,Triumph,etc.etc.etc.--- |

Live in fear my Ray! I ride my harley, I smile big and have a great time doing it! And I don't give a rats what the guy or gal next to me is ridin as long as I get my share of the road and they are havin a good time to. To me thats what it is all about "FUN", "FRIENDS", AND MORE "FUN". I don't put down Harelys, Buells, or anything else, If it's got 2 wheels, and a motor ride it! Deb, I am so looking forward to seeing you all! What time should we be expecting you? My hours at work will be changing the 7th, so will have to be here until 5 pm. YUK! |
