Good luck Marine!! My college roomate just got activated, he is heading to Mississippi for SRP and all of that, then heading over to the sand box. My unit is looking at rotating over by the end of next year. Can any body explain to me the future of Buell motorcycles? I am here in Western PA going to college, and it seems as though many dealerships are dropping the Buell line. I went to the #1 Cycle Center near Penn State, and they totally dropped the line. I got some stuff pretty cheap there, they still have a few items marked like 50% off. A friend of mine just bought an XB9S, and was looking for dealerships around the Indiana PA area, where i go to college, and he had the same problem, everyone is dropping the Buell line. Any insight on whats going on? Prior, I got your B-day gift, will send it out to you shortly. Cessna |

i filled out the survey, but though it focused mostly on feedback to the website, i gave my opinion on the whole Buell parts and accesories void. would like to see every new Buell sold with a 250 page glossy wish book, full of hot (Buell)leather clad beauties, on and around custom modified (Buell) motorcycles, laden with (Buell) factory sourced gee-gaws, in our choice of polished, matte, chrome, and anodized in 3 colors, and with or without the prominent (Buell) logo. Also a range of sport-touring hard luggage, and some factory (Buell) branded auxilliary driving lamps would be very welcome. It works for Ducati, Harley, and even yamaha, it ought to provide some dealership profits for the Buell line, thus increasing the willingness of the motorcycle sellers to actually speak to the riders of Buell brand motorcycles, and maybe make it easier to value (profit from) our business. |

Does anybody know the paint code/powdercoating color (whatever they use) for the stock silver Buell cylinders on a tube model? Is there a touch up kit available anywhere and if so, what is the part number? Thanks. |

Since this is the general discussion I thought it'd be okay to share this, kinda funny... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A29752-2005Feb16_4.html "Yesterday, Defense Secretary testified before the House Armed Services committee on a wide range of issues and, not surprisingly, the issue of Iraqi troop levels came up. California Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA 47)accused Rumsfeld of misleading the people by providing incorrect, inflated statistics on the number of trained Iraqi troops. Read the transcript and it becomes clear Sanchez is showing herself to be embodiment of Democratic partisanship by misleading the American people with numbers she fully knows are outdated. The exchange was as follows (edited for length, entire transcript is linked above):"-Joe Fairbanks blog Sanchez: Unfortunately, as I said, this committee has had a hard time assessing where we really stand with the Iraqi army as an effective fighting force. Over the past year, we've received incredibly widely fluctuating estimates of that. And I think you have a real credibility problem on this issue. Rumsfeld: Fluctuations of what? Sanchez: The fluctuations of--the numbers that you bandy around about how many troops we really have out there that are Iraqi police, et cetera, et cetera. . . . Rumsfeld: Now, you say we bandy around numbers. They're not my numbers. I don't invent them. They come from Gen. Petraeus. . . . Sanchez: I have Petraeus's numbers. They're different than your numbers, by the way. Rumsfeld: Well, what's the date? They aren't different because these came from Petraeus. He may have two sets of numbers, but they are not different if the date's the same. The date on my paper here is Feb. 14. What's yours? Sanchez: Dec. 20. Rumsfeld: Not surprising there's a difference.

That's great... How someone could even question whether or not what we are doing over there is an honest effort is high and I want some! The people who report the numbers aren't some magical fictional group in Iraq. It's the Chief's, GySgt's, MSgts, 1st Shirts, and TSgts. The everyday people who get the job done! People not unlike many on this board who have just left for the effort. It pisses me off... |

I heard a story the other day, of a lady, flying from Phoenix to LA, who got snippy with the TSA ( transportation safety A^*& ) who had randomly selected her for secondary search, or a good groping. Her snide comment to the effect that they couldn't find a bomb if she had one in her bag, got her delayed, and missed her flight. Her bag flew on to LA without her. When the plane landed, it was diverted to a far corner of the airport, ( with the passengers ) her bag was removed, then blown up. No charges were pressed, I heard. My question, is why did the baggage fly to LA, on a plane load of people, BEFORE the tin plated dictatorial power mad jerks in airport security destroyed it in revenge for a smart remark? It's not so much the petty behavior of ( overworked, & I'm grateful for their service ) rent a cops with more ( politically correct ) power than is rational. Heck, having your luggage demolished for a joke is normal, now. It's the insanity of letting her luggage fly after the word "bomb" was uttered, ( even in jest ) Push that cart horsey, push! |

I heard a story.... NO charges were pressed, I heard. Maybe you heard right, but that also sounds like a somewhat generic story that's been edited once or twice. I have a good friend (not saying you're like her) who believes just about anything she hears apparently, and gets pissed whenever I suggest that it might not be true (again, not saying you do this...cause she does this A LOT). She acts as if I think I'm a know it all, but the "I heard a story"s are occasionally just that...stories. Luggage demolished, do you have any links to news stories that talk about luggage being demolishied....maybe it's true but I just don't see it happening like that. While certainly not every TSA "agent" is a saint or highly trained/skilled/motivated...it only takes a few bad apples to give all the rest a bad name too. I think the TSA has slightly lowered their amount of bad apples, but every place is gonna have 'em...and with a job like that I think the TSA may always have a bit more than their fair share. |
