I've been wondering if we can split lanes here. That sucks we can't!!! What kind of ticket are looking at if we do? I'm originally from Cali. and we can split lanes especially in traffic. I've found at times a CHP would be behind me and I move over into a lane and they pass right by me. We should petition something because the way traffic is out here I'm not about to sit in it and let my bike overheat. What do you guys do when theres traffic? Wait behind cars? By the way what is DPS. I know its law enforcement but what does it stand for and they are only highway right? |

Stands for Department of Public Safety. They are mostly highway but unlike CHP they have juristiction in all of AZ. Even the city, etc. |

Not like DPS is going to run you down in traffic How do you think DPS was getting around? I ride through the highest concentration of MotorPatrols in the Penis area. One ticket in the next year and no more job. Not going to chance it. You wait in traffic, but the upside is we have carteblanche when it comes to all of the HOV lanes. We as riders are exempt. IIRC Lane Splitting is a wreckless with speeding attatched. (Speeding because you are moving faster then conditions allow) So however fast they decide to nail you for is what decides your fine. Charlie, no worries. I am not sure if I can make it, atleast I won't know probably until the week before since I will still be in the "training" mode at work and schedules are a week to week deal. |

Since I know that now I rather be sitting in a car during traffic hour!! I guess we cant have everything out here. No Helmet law and lane splitting! Looks nice out. Does anyone know of good riding around my area (Avondale)? |

Went out for a ride today. Took the 101 loop to 60 then toward Lake Isabella or something. The road was alittle wet and unpaved in some areas but it was a o.k. ride considering I don't know this area well. 100 miles. Not bad. Now its back to rain |

Philip, So you moved from Cali to Penis (Phoenix) then? Cool. Get up with the guys from the board. They go riding damn near every week. I'm out here in Yuma and go through Avondale when I ride in to Phx. Next time I come out there maybe you could ride in with me and we'll have a Buell night out to dinner with everybody... |

Charlieboy, Yup I made the move to attend UTI. I've just been waiting to see if anyone post up that they're going riding. Get in touch with me if you decide to head out this way for a ride. I'm definitly interested! I don't have a job yet so this would be the best time. |

We have been light on rides of late some due to weather and some just due to scheduling. As we get things more nailed down we can explore some roads that I haven't been on and run roads that the others know. Bart talks of Tortilla Flats which I haven't been to yet for instance... |

I don't get out of work til after 6pm and by the time I get back this way it will be around 7pm or so. Bike definately runs alot better with the stock ECM then it did with the RaceECM. No roll on ping and solid pull all the way to redline. No "running out of breath" feeling at all. |

Finally have time to post pics of the mod. It didn't occur to me till after we'd welded it shut to take pics of the inside. But the second weld is barely visible (ground it a bit), the paint looks great, and we kept the stock exh. port. Per Ski's advice I had also gone to reverse shift and LOVE IT! Highly recommended. Admittedly, I missed a few shifts when I first did it. |

Just a note... It looks like you need to shorten up the linkage for the shift lever. Wycked... What are you going to do with the race ECM? |

You forgot how big Charlie's feet are Don I take it you didn't get my PM asking if you wanted to try out the RaceECM. I do caution though, it is my opinion based on the runability differences between the stock and the race ECM that the Race ECM is quite possibly defective. |

No, it just seems that the linkage should be as close to parallel to each lever as possible... I would shorten the linkage as far as I could and rotate the upper lever counter clockwise on the shaft. On the subject of the race ECM... Can you run through the rev range w/o any major problems? If it's just a ping, I have the TFI so I can add fuel... My trouble is that I have the Force pipe and I think that I need an ECM that doesn't think it has a valve that's changing the length of the exhaust. It seems to be very touchy in the range that the valve actuates, and it's very difficult to tune in that range. What does the race ECM do to you? |

One it "runs out of breath" at the top end, yet the endcap of the pipe is showing rich, black sooty type rich. The main thing is a problem with roll on from 3000-4000. 3rd-5th gear if you roll on the throttle anywhere from 3000-4000 it pings BAD, and the motor lugs. Switched to the stock ECM and it pulls hard from idle to redline with no out of breath feeling and no ping on roll on anywhere. Mind you I have the V&H SS2R race pipe, which is pretty much a straight pipe with a 2 inch core with packing. but if a cop shoved his nightsick in there he wouldn't hit anything but my Exhaust valves. |

Don, I did try it parallel and had to push too far down to engage the upshift. By going up one spline and lengthening the linkage, the throw became correct for my clodhopper. Yes, Wycked had that one right. Blame my big feet. Good looking out though. |

Charlie, Glad to see you finally did the reverse shift. I told you, you would only screw it up a couple of times when you first start using it. What mod are you doing?? I posted more pic's in the Thumper Section of my progress of the FireBlast if anyone is interested. Charlie, how much do you think your friend would charge for some clear FireBlast decals?? If you could mail that and the hat up here I'll owe you a tank or two of fuel for the springfast? Don Hann 944 Lookout Rd. Prescott AZ, 86303 Also, again, thanks for picking up the hat for me . If you want, I can send you a check to cover shipping as well. Or, I could plan a ride down there sometime (hopefully soon, but I have to swap a front tire first) and pick them up... Either way. |

Just to let you guy's know..... If you are looking for stickers, Like Mobile1, NGK, Dunlop etc.... I contacted them through their web sight and told them how long I have used their product and ask them where I could get some stickers, They all said they would send me some. So far I received the NGK stickers and they sent me 3 different sizes and about 6 of each. So if your using a product and want to advertise it for them, just contact them.
