>>>where did you get it? Did they send it to you? For the 229th time. Go to www.buell.comm right there, smack dab on your computer screen, is the square that says something like "MAKE YOUR OPINION COUNT. TELL US WHAT YOU THINK". I think I have found one of the major communications problems.

They got my $.02 worth... I know it was about the website, but I couldn't help but make at least one comment about $79.95 for grips.... It's rather insulting.... |

the only thing i comented about was the fact that the site is alittle slow and that they needed to bring back desktop backgrounds like they had before. |

I mentioned the Flash aspect in my response. Somehow I'm now able to view their pages. Either they Flash-disabled it a bit, or I'm being monitored and setup for dismembership locally here. If so, so be it, will have time to work on the bike then. No money though so maybe that wouldn't be so good. But new stuff is in the works, which is hopefully also the case for Buell.com. If one were to read into the survey a bit it might appear to some that they are reconsidering re-entering into the bulletin board arena which could be good depending upon how it plays out. Oh well, time will tell. 'scuse me now while I go restart the next process.... |

Thanks Court. If I may make a suggestion, it would be to consider email, or snail mail, the questionnaire to existing owners. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I am under the impression that owners are more likely to check into this site than the company site once they discover Bad Weather, as this site is a more useful, and amusing:-), source of information, once one has made the decision to buy a Buell. |

Based solely upon some of the questions me thinks someone is poking at the polar bear with a dull stick then. A sharp stick might wake it up.

LOL I wonder how many of us mentioned BadWeb? Maybe they'll get the hint, and start sponsoring the site, just so they can chat with us direct.. Nawwww.. We'd end up trying to get jobs as test riders and what not.. it could get ugly.. hehehehe.. Later, |

>>>Based solely upon some of the questions me thinks someone is poking at the polar bear with a dull stick then. That's inaccurate. There is, my friend, a chasm between doing little and doing nothing. In the past, I think some have assumed HD systems could be simply morphed to work for Buells. Nothing could be distruer, you've likely read my "golf balls and eggs" about how some thing that appears, to the untrained eye, similar are quite dissimilar. Such is the case with HD and Buells as it regards the movement of info to and from owners. The weak mind is easily fooled and simply because it is "right" for HD does not make it right for Buell. That Buell requires a bit different tack is no reflection or intimation that the "HD way" is wrong. Different is just different. Ask Dave Stueve. He can sell both HD's and Buells, likely uses a lot of the same skills but has achieved his stellar status by recognizing and employing the subtle differences in required techniques. The folks at HD and Buell are keenly aware of Badweb. They will likely never say a word, I damned sure wouldn't if I were them, but anytime you have a common medium that is THE focal point for over 5,000 registered users, and seen universally as THE source of definitive information, don't think they are not aware of it. In addition, Badweb has proved it's meddle. In terms of being able to mobilize and carry off effective Buell promotional efforts Badweb is distinguished. The mere fact, in conclusion, that they are ASKING, "how can we better serve our owners" is a start. They don’t know and neither do you or I, the RIGHT questions to ask, so they will start by asking lots. Some will bear fruit, others will not. I'd like to see life breathed back into my 1995 TEAM BUELL plan and a rotating board of owner reps, from 5 areas of the country, meeting 3 times a year to be so polled. I still have the 35-page proposal and it's better now, and would be more effective, than it was now. Answer honestly and encourage all you speak to to do the same. The wind is behind our sails, stay focused. Court |

I also mentioned the flash aspect of the site. It's troubling that web designers these days think that EVERYONE has a flash enabled browser/OS. |

>>>Time will tell then, time will tell. It will. For neigh on 20 years I have listened to the Eorye's toll the death nell of Buell. In that time I've watched everybody from the Hanlon Brothers ("previously fizzled) to Mike Cyz ("currently in his "bright flash" stage where he learns the words "wow, 1-1/2 million rally isn't that much, is it? phase) come and go. I think the folks at Buell listen much better than many give credit for. Buell will be here for my grandkids.....let's do all we can to be a positive force on the future. You won't want to miss "The State of Buell 2005" ...if I ever get it finished Court |

Even up here in the middle of nowhere I got the chance to do the survey, then a few days later another arrived. I answered both online and was quite candid about them. To the point where I asked them to bring Buell to the Island. Several references were indeed made to Badweb with respect to information as well as a couple retailers I rely on from time to time for parts and or numbers. Its good they are looking to see whats happening out there!!! |
