Has anyone used these yet? Satin Handle Bar Riser Tree from American Sport Bike? They are listed under the Home > Buell > XB9R/XB12R > Control Systems |

03-05 Handle Bar Risers, Billet Aluminum, Satin, Triple tree, 1" taller, 1.5" back, XB9/12R Firebolt. Less weight on wrists, more comofrtable seating position for most people. Installation requires a security torx wrench for ignition lock removal, see #16049. Note: 05 Firebolts have larger diameter fork tubes, but the outer tube fork diameter at the top triple clamp remains the same. These will work on 05 models as well. Yes, I've used this on my XB12R. MUCH more comfortable than stock, no more sore wrists. The only problem was that I found it a little too shiny for my liking, so I beadblasted it and now it looks great! I am now currently running the LSL Superbike bar conversion which I like even more. Much more upright riding position, but not as good on the freeway because you are sitting more upright and catching a lot more wind. |

I put about 150 miles on my stock R then switched to the Heli-Bar riser, Thanks Al from American Sport Bike. Then about 130 miles on the Heli-Bar. Stock was to much of a reach or me, the riser is just about perfect. I also installed Lightning foot-pegs. They are about 1" lower and really give your legs some extra room. Bike is much more comfortable now. I started here and if it wasn't enough I was going to do the LSL superbike bar. I will probably stay with the Heli-Bar for a while, I think I could take some longer trips like this. Fuzz do you have any pics of your conversion? Are they too wide, or do they feel right? I am still interested in the superbike bar. Oh one more thing. My Heli-Bars were satin, looks like bead blasted. I think this is the way they come now. |

Sorry, I don't have any good pics. The bars feel great, almost like MX bars, but not too wide or anything. It makes the bike feel like a Lightning. I also installed the Lightning footpegs for more comfort. I just wasn't comfortable with the " monkey fcuking a football" position of the stock Firebolt. |

I installed my Heli Bar triple clamp last night. It took about an hour and went real smooth. I road to work this morning and I can sure feel a difference in the riding position. I'm going to like them. |
