You too, Dago! How's the "S to R" conversion going? I know you'll have it done by next week. I rode to work the past two days and, other than it being a little chilly, it's been fun! The bike handles better with the wider, lower bars. I ordered my Race ECM on Saturday, and my Race Filter and D&D exhaust from Daves this morning - with any luck, I'll have 'em on for the Austin ride! Can't wait for that deep sound of the D&D now! What is everyone thinking for Austin? Day trip? Overnight? Riding or hauling? |

I could put up a couple of folks for the night, if y'all wanna stay and have an evening get together. Got an extra king size bed in the guest room and a sleeping bag on the office floor. Might could get a couple of my buds to pony up some shelter as well, if neccessary. Lemme know... Hey fellow D/FW buellers. I just returned from the local Buell dealership and had a good conversation with Ron "Junior" Stegall the general partner and former president of the local BRAG organization. We bounced around the idea of reviving the D/FW BRAG chapter. I mentioned this web sight and told him of our passion for riding and all things Buell. He stated that American Eagle is doing well in Buell sales. I thought this would be a great way to bring interest to this sight and our insurgent chapter. He also brought up the racing school that will be held in Grand Prairie. www.cmraracing.com and www.lonestartrackdays.com. So fellows what do ya think. Anyone else want to make this happen. P.S. Hey Chris he brought you up and mentioned he liked the mods you did to your bike. I told him you weren't done yet and that more was on the way. |

Hey, Patrick! Yeah, I met with him Tuesday evening (I rode all the way up to Corinth just to pick up my free Buell hat!). He said he'd seen this website - I sent him the link with the pics from our ride and our dinner with Erik, and he seemed fairly enthusiastic. As for a formal D/FW BRAG chapter - it would be obvious to anyone that we now have, at the very least, a small but enthusiastic bunch of Buell riders. I know there are several others that we haven't met yet, too. Junior said he could send information out to everyone who'd purchased a Buell from them, and BRAG may be able to do that, too. So, we won't have an issue with numbers - the new XB models have helped in that area a lot! Here's the thing - there are some advantages and some disadvantages "to BRAG or not to BRAG." If nothing else, there's the issue of dues, both national and local. Junior told me it wouldn't matter where we met, either. It doesn't have to be way up north, though they'd likely sponsor a few events for us up in Corinth, which is way north but also central in the D/FW area. Dave Stueve talked to us on the ride and said the biggest advantage of going BRAG is the national communication avenues and the dealer support. If we have that support from American Eagle - and we'd need it in a big way - I'm all for reviving this BRAG chapter, and would volunteer to step up into a role to help it get going again. I told Junior as much when I met him. It comes down to this - we don't HAVE to be aligned with BRAG to ride and have a good time, which is what we all seem to want, but the affiliation has some "pros" that may outweigh the "cons." I think there is enough data out there that we should at least discuss it, IMHO. Anyone see it differently? |

I posted a poll on SportTwin.com - please go there to vote on a DFW BRAG! http://www.sporttwin.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1790 |

Subject #1 - new performance mods! Got my D&D, K&N, and race ECM on today - oh, my god...that's all I can say. Patrick, you were right - what a sound! Several small children ran away crying. Easy install on the pipe and filter - and I haven't modded the airbox lid yet, but I will. Subject #2 - DFW BRAG. I was at the dealer waiting on my bike (they installed the ECM), and I talked to several HOG members who were hanging around - the "spit 'n whittle club." They shared that BRAG members would almost always be invited to local HOG events and rides. In fact, there's a "St. Patricks Day" event on March 12, leaving DHD in Garland and ending up at Lake Lewisville after a poker run - sound fun! |

LOL - No, the bike is up and running like a champ! I'll only take the wunderwagen if a support vehicle is needed, and then only if it's too cold to ride (like a couple of weeks ago!).

Passed a red XB12S going south on FM1220 north of Fort Worth at 3:45 yesterday. You were riding with a group and so was I or I would have turned around. If you’re on this site, post and let us know who you are. |

So jealous of those who rode yesterday - hasn't been that nice since September! I did ride to/from the HD/B dealership for the ECM install on Saturday, dodging rain drops the whole way. Rode to work today, and frightened several folks with the new exhaust note! Patrick, you were right - my wife was shaking her head as I left this morning! |

Roll call for a ride...weather calling for locally scattered T-showers Saturday 2/19, partly cloudy on Sunday. Maybe a Sunday ride is better? I know some are going to Austin Saturday... I'm in for riding Saturday AM to early PM (need to be home by 3PM) or Sunday anytime. NE1 else? |

I'm not sure what I'm going to do after looking at the weather outlook for the weekend. So I'll play it by ear. If there's no rain Saturday between here and Austin, then I'm gone. If there is rain, then I'm in on the Sunday ride here. I took the new bike out for the maiden run last night. It's a whole different beast. There are major differences between the S & R models...more so than I expected. |

Hey Dago, Did you get rid of the S. I hope that axel thing didn't weigh in on your decision to get rid of it. P.S There are major differences. The weather doesn't look good, probably see you sunday then. |

No way Navy! I converted my S to an R. The tail section was swapped and the front faring was added. A few extras were added for good measure too. |

We may be in the same boat (no pun intended). It's not looking good for a ride this weekend in North Texas. Maybe later on Sunday? |

I just couldn't help myself today. Call me an idiot, but I chanced the rain. There were a few light sprinkles on the way in. But not enough to get wet at all. I hope my luck is as good this afternoon. I put the K&N on while removing the snorkel, and really can't believe the difference that made alone. It'll be interesting to run with those of you who've slapped on an exhaust. Hopefully, you'll walk away from me! All feels tip-top after my conversion. So I feel safe enough now for a long haul. Saturday will surely be nasty. Let's play Sunday by ear. If it's nice, I'm in. |
