Hey guys I need to remove my muffler tonight, is there anything special I need to be aware of? If I'll need a special voodoo potion I'll need the recipe for that as well. I've misplaced my voodoo book! |

Hulley, Take off the lower fairing. Take out the axle pinch bolt. Loosen the belt by backing off the axle. Take off the idler pulley. Take off all 3 exhaust bands. Loosen the collector/muffler clamp all the way. Wiggle 'til it falls. I think that's it. |

I was just trying to take off the lower fairing and I cant get the torx bolts to budge, granted all I have are torx screwdrivers, I guess I'll have to buy some torx sockets so I can get some leverage. Are those babies loctited? Any odd sizes or hardware other than the torx bolts on the lower fairing? |

Everything is pretty much standard, all but the #27 torx bit you need. |

ok I got the torx bolts out, I know this is a stupid question, but, How does removing the axel pinch bolt loosen the belt? the axel doesn't move back and forth? can I just take off the idler? |

Good on Stealth. It is a good thing Odie, thats for sure. Hulley....It is a tapered axle and when you loosen it, it loosens the belt. You don't have to take it all the way out. Just enough to get the belt loose. once you loosen the pinch bolt then back the axle out some. (Message edited by black_sunshine on February 14, 2005) |
