Note to self: always check for motorcycle endorsement before letting a friend ride your bike. http://www.m90.org/view_image.php?image_id=1696 |

That off road thing looked pretty insane, the second video is why I haven't let my brothers try to ride my SV (they've never ridden any kind of bike before). I have a short video on my computer (not sure where to host it) of a guy on a yellow Ducati 749/999 apparently just picking up his new bike...stalls it while leaving the dealerships garage and drops it...you can hear him say "ah no no no no" when it falls....sucks. |

Hey Eric you been shopping around lately for that perfect deal? Did ya call DaveS, or chat with Gails to sweeten the deal a bit? Either way you'll love your Buell where ever you get it. |

eh, not too much yet...i've got some time before I can make a move anyway. The only other Buell dealership I've done anything with was sending an email to some Buell dealership in Iowa to see what they would do on a '05 XB12S...clicked on a banner on badweb. Might need to get on Buell.com and get some listings for all the dealerships in MO, KS, CO, OK, NE maybe even AR. I still gotta call gail's back and figure out what their price is...sounds like $11,300-$11,300 plus freight & set up (which I have no idea what they'll want to charge for that BS). When I'm ready to buy I'll give Gail's a fair shot but I'm definately gonna let 'em know I have no problem with driving a few hours to get a better deal. |

T & J Hanses, Great to hear from someone who even knows where eastern MT is located (No, Billings is not the eastern terminus of the state!) It would be great to hook-up if you make your way west this year. 52 degrees above yesterday (how bizzare is that in Feb?) Took the bike to Circle and back, had a beer in Richey on the way home. I haven't seen another bike on the road since Oct. (except the Townies in G. Falls last week). Whatever, Rob |

I saw a lot of bikes out last weekend, battery drained on the SV so I tried to bumpb start it...no such luck, but close a couple times. Then tried jumper cables and got it fired up in all of 5 minutes. |

Enp... Get a Battery Tender... It will keep that from happening. Won't hurt the battery at all. I have tenders on all my stuff... even my lawn tractor! You won't be able to bump start an XB. No battery... no fuel feed. If the battery drops, the headlight might come on, but the fuel pump doesn't make a sound... trust me I know this. That is why I have a tender. |

Yeah, not that I've been riding a long time but I've had bikes for 4 years now and never had even the slightest hint of battery trouble. When I tried to start the SV the first time last weekend evenything lit up as usual and heard the standard whirl from the fuel pump (I assume that's what it is)....thumbed the started and it tried to turn it over but couldn't do it. Thumbed the started again and just heard a "click" lol. It had enough juice to be bump started, I got REALLY close several times...I didn't have any experience bump starting so someone else who knew how to do it better might have been able to get it going. It had only sat for a month at the most, went on a decent size ride Dec. 29th or 30th when it was warm. I know my YZF600R sat at one point for atleast 2 months and started without a hiccup. A friend of mine has an extra battery tender/trickle charger (sounds like they're the same thing?) he's gonna give me when he comes up from Wichita. I've seen people bump start I4 600cc race bikes all the time, but I've heard twins will be a little harder to do...and if I couldn't get it on the SV's 645cc twin I'm sure 984cc or 1203cc would be even harder. Atleast this happened on a winter evening where I was just going to ride it around the block to keep it from sitting, instead of on a summer day about to go meet up with a group for a ride or something. |

Hey, Larry what are you taking pictures of me for and then photoshopping them onto a whale? JJ quit trying to make excuses, even though we both have shaved heads, that doesn't really mean we look alike, so you may want to take that picture of you slobbering all over that cone off of the web (everyone knows you work with Larry everyday, you shouldn't display the effection you both have for each other on the web). Sam, dude that's all you can lift? I remember when I was in 8th grade lifting that kind of weight. Das, I think that picture is from someones daily commute in L.A.. |
