I have a D&D exhaust on my XB12S and I actually took it out for a spin yesterday, It was a Balmy 37degrees here in Northern MN. It ran O.K but I stopped by my local Harley/Buell Dealer to see if they know anything about the Race ECM and Filter. First of all they told me with the Race ECM it costs $175.00 for a (download) that they have to install? Hmmm? I never share the fact that I do all my parts business through Appleton H-D. (Dave) I know that the TPS has to be reset but what else has to be done? I think I might have to make a Trip down to St.Paul Harley/buell now for all my service needs. 120 miles away. Is there a Download? I thought it was just plug in and go. Any Help would be appreciated. P.S K&N or Buell Race Filter? Rob S. |

First I've heard of anything like that. P.S K&N or Buell Race Filter? They're the same. |

I think they have the Buell RaceECM confused with the Screamin Eagle RaceTuner which is what was described to me the other night when chatting with one of the few Parts guys I trust here. He said he has caught the other parts staff describing that unit rather then the Buell RaceECM. The ONLY thing that is needed is the TPS/AFV reset. They shouldn't charge you more then half an hour labor (generally the shop minimum). |

They don't know what they are talking about! The race ecm is 209.00 list price(you'd get 10% off thru me). You install it in place of your stock ecm, reset the TPS and that's it. There is no download to install. They think it's a Harley. I would think about letting this dealership work on your bike. |

Team, if you stop down here, let me know. I've been wanting to meet you for a while, now. Things are changing at St. Paul HD/Buell. We now have an XB12R and a Blast for rent. Also, if you know of anyone interested in trading in a tuber, I'm told we'll give a good trade-in value. |

A little off subject, but can anyone tell me if the D&D sounds the same (or similar) if it's on a 12 or a 9? Just curious because I have a 9 and know someone else who will have one soon....thinking of getting a D&D but would like to hear it first. This is assuming I'll bump into Robert on the road sometime to hear his 12S. Lou, are you back to work? |

Lou, You work at the Dubliner? I love that place, grew up in the Cities, I had a lot of friends that use to frequent that place. Eric, I'll be down there on my bike in April< It's not that far off now if you want to hear what it sounds like. I would highly recommend getting one, My Girlfriend hates Harleys/Buells and she even loves the sound. |

Eric, not 'till I've recovered from my last surgery, hopefully April, or so, but I like to keep my information sources. I also like to keep involved in all things Buell. Robert, stop in when you're down and I'll buy you a pint. |

Lou, I hope all is well after your last operation. I had a question about touring, wondering if you could help me out. I'll be in Colorado this summer for a week over 4th of July. I'm looking to maybe rent a bike near Boulder or elsewhere to go for a ride for a day. Just curious about rates, if it's really expensive then no, but I thought BRAG had discounts. Robert, look me up when you come down in April. I'd love to hear it! |

I don't know the rates on the Buells, yet. I know that Sporties run $100 a day. It looks like there are a few Buell dealers in the area, but you'd have to contact them for rates. Your BRAG Atlas has info on dealers who rent, and on the Fly and Ride Program. |
