A new dealer bought our local dealership and in the course of talking up Buells I said he should start to stock some essential Buell parts. Court, do you still have your list of parts dealers should carry? Everyone, other Buell parts dealers should carry? Thank you. |

Roc: I'll check. It was a circa 1997 and had 3 levels, roughly based on Buell sales. I suspect it's fairly buried, but will check to see if there is any sort of a current listing. Be certain to have your dealer check with his SPOC rep. Might not be a bad start to check with Dave or Clown or one of the dealers who "gets it". Good on you for helping the dealer in this initiative. |

Kind of in order (just my opinion): Oil, Oil Filter, Gaskets needed during engine/primary oil change, Plugs(stock+pro-series), Plug Wires, K&N Air Filter, Clutch Cable, Traction Grips, Final Drive Belt, Throttle Cable, Headlight Bulbs, Speedo Sensor, Batteries, Tail Bag, Tank Mask, Tank Bag Except for the first four I have had to order all of these from my dealer (or got it from Dave instead since he had it in stock). |

Shift levers, shift levers, shift levers, in that order. It's funny, the very first item I ever broke on a motorcycle was the shift lever on my brand new 1975 Kawasaki 175. 25 years later, I managed to clear out the stock of shift levers in my local Buell dealership in just 2 months. |

"Drop kit" is a very good idea. I was going to pull for all consumables, belts, and clutch cables. |

I'm on my third set of handlebars, too. Include handlebars. |

Handlebars? How do you go through handlebars? I understand tip overs and crashes but on a regular basis....I am curious. |

The stock handlebars on an M2 bend pretty easily. Two lowsides and one highside and they bent every time. If you include the stock handlebar, I'm actually on my fourth one. |

Oh, as far as crashing on a regular basis..., I guess I've been guilty of "overexhuberance". My first lowside wasn't my fault though, I got caught in some oil thrown in a corner by some moron. Thank goodness for Vanson and Shoei. |

Add bars to tip-over kit. Curbside tip-over won't bend them but ANY forward speed is gonna. ALL consumables are obvious and common fasteners - windscreen wellnuts, exhaust studs/nuts, a few windscreens - and for the XB's - stock, double bubble and sport touring screens. Mounted on a fairing, hanging on the wall look cool. Almost forgot - BRAKE PADS!! Fresh coffee and a place to sit. |

I would start by making some categories: 1. Regular maintenance a. filters b. oil c. belts d. light bulbs e. fuses 2. Common repair items,( fall over kit) a. levers b. handle bars c. directionals d. plastic 3. Popular upgrade items a. Race Kit b. Upgrade Buell Seats c. Frame pucks d. sliders for front fork and swing arm 3. Apparel and accessories a. shirts b. leathers, helmets, etc. I am sure members will want to add to this list, and I hope they do so:-) |

Tell your dealer to look on HD NET under Buell Marketing Tools. Buell has already done this work for them. A list of the top running parts is right there. |
