Were these guys one of the dealers on the chopping block, or just getting rid of old inventory? Would like some of the stuff, but couldn't use it all. Wish enough of us could agree, and buy it, and split it up. That'll never work!! |

Roeder HD is George Roeder, BIG time dirttracker and part of HD lore. A friend of mine broke down on an old Superglide in Ohio and George Sr. himself came to pick him up... with a flat sidecar to push the bike on to. He said the ride to the shop was quite a butt pucker thrill. He's probably getting rid of old inventory. As big of a race personality as he and the family are, I hope he's not loosing Buell. Gerge Roeder passed away over a year ago. He was one of the legendary figures in H-D dirt track racing. Member of hall of fame for tuners. I am sure the family will be doing what is the best for their business. |

Definitely some cool stuff, but a lot of it seems to be for women... |

Roeder Harley emailed back - $800 reserve. When you look at the total resale value, it's a fair deal - IF you've got a shop to sell it. |

I was very sad to hear of George Roeder's passing. I met him and his son Jess while they were racing in FUSA at Willow Springs. As we sat and had dinner one night after a long hot day of racing, he told me all about his adventures and mis-adventures at Bonneville while breaking World Land Speed Records. A truly great guy, I'm glad I got to meet him. George Sr., Jess and me Timbo |

Sorry to get off subject, but Timbo, that pic brings back memories of old George. He truely was a great man. Stayed at my house almost every summer for quite a few years and Jess still stays with us a couple of times a year. Jess and I just did the 3 hour endurance ice race here. Everything that could go wrong, pretty much did and then the front fender busted and put Jess on his head and he cracked 4 ribs. We finished 22nd in the big class. The whole Roeder family truely know how to crash and anyone who met George knows where the boys learned it from! I have a photo (copied) here that George signed for me from his 250 sprint land speed record days in the 60s. Godspeed George. |

That is the pic I have, except is in black and white... Did he tell you about how it took too long to go back into to town and have some one pack the shoot back up, so he would just crash the thing to slow it down. That motorcycle was in his barn until his son Will took it down to the dealership a couple of years ago. The first time I saw it it had bits and pieces and parts thrown on top of it laying up against a wall. Here is a big piece of history and ol' George was very humble about it. Now Jess kind of works out of that same barn doing the same thing his father did for all those years. They made a great team together and were like best buddies. Memories like this I guess is why I continue to race, not only because of the racing, but the friends you meet along the way. |

He did tell me about some of his more...uh...interesting crashes...lol. We also talked about the construction of the bike, and how it was put back together after some of those crashes. He was a brave man, with nerves of steel and abilty to match. Memories like this I guess is why I continue to race, not only because of the racing, but the friends you meet along the way. Amen. |
