In my quest to educate myself at 4:00 am (while slightly bored at work) I decided to find out what a true streetfighter is. So naturally I turned to the most reliable source of information available today... THE INTERNET! I typed in http://www.streetfighter.com and started to soak in the information. Check out the bio's and their phone number. BWAHAHAHA |

In the non-Buell world, a streetfighter is a bike that has been down / rashed and the owner chooses not to [read as - cannot afford to ] replace the plastic bits. |

Streetfighter: whatever it takes to get down the road with whatever bits you have laying around regardless of origin. Non-bike human streetfighter: use whatever is handy to win or at least survive in a no rules no referee environment. I won't wear the StreetFighter t-shirt due to it's implacations in the later category. YMMV |

Midknyte...That sounds more like a Rat Bike. |

I think a rat would be more like Mikej's definition of streetfighter, plus a can of flat black. Personally, I kind of have a thing for a good ratbike. Depending on who you ask, that's either a good thing, or else proof that there's something wrong with me... |

Good thing about a ratbike is you don't worry about it if you end up riding in the rain (as it seems to do here for weeks at a time). Just hose it off once in a while and you're set. Besides, the grime just adds to the mystique. Agree with MikeJ about the 'human' reference to Streetfighter. Every time someone mentions that I remember that stupid song by Zwol........ "I'm gonna whip yo' boy!!"

Speaking of streetfighters, has anyone seen the new army BDUs? It's a forest, desert, and urban marpat camouflage with an infrared US flag. One BDU for three environments. |

there not bdus there acus (army combat uniform) every thing that u would so on the bdus are velcro on the new ones and the rank is no ton the collor any longer it is in the front in the same place as the gotex jakets. Exept for the different colors and the velcro stuff they look pretty much like the marines new uniforms. |

I like true streetfighters...home built specials put together from the remains of a wreck. I don't like the show bike streetfighters. Anything that can't be abused is too pretty to use. It seems the wide tire craze is gaining popularity with sportbikes lately. I don't like it. |

"I like true streetfighters...home built specials put together from the remains of a wreck." Well then my M2 was a streetfighter for about a year once! I finally got it all back together and repainted. |

A streetfighter is a bike stripped down to essential pieces. I like to use the analogy of a pit bull. Docking the tail and cropping the ears is similar to removing pieces that could potentially be damaged in battle such as cheese graters, mickey mouse mirrors and plastic fairings.

The streetfighter craze basically originated in Europe. People who couldn't afford to fix their wrecks put them back together with what they could...often with salvage yard parts off various models/makes and minus most of the bodywork. People liked the look and now it's more of a fashion statement it seems. StealthXB has the idea. |
