Ok, now that I have your attention. We (Stone Mountain & Granite Mountain Buell) will be having our 2nd annual "MARCH BADNESS" Demo Event in the North Georgia mountains on March 19-20th. These are some of the best twisties in the Southeast. The Buell Demo Truck will be set up at Two Wheels Only www.twowheelsonly.com. We will be doing Demo rides out of their parking lot all day Saturday & Sunday. Here is the best part, Erik Buell will be at the event all weekend!!!!! Think about it, how often will you have a chance to ride the twisties with the man that designed the bike you're riding? I would like to extend a warm Southern Hospitality invitation to everyone to attend. Bring your buddies who don't own a Buell so they can test ride the bikes on the roads they were designed for. It will be a weekend to remember. |

Man, that deal sounds pretty sweet. I spent 3 days up there last summer (unfortunately I had to leave as my Dad got ill); it was awesome even without my Buell (I was on an 83 Honda VT500FT Ascot). There are lots of twisties in the area and there doesn't seem to be as much squidery as at the Dragon. I took the family and stayed in a cabin at Vogel State Park which was really nice. There are several towns reasonably close by with places to eat, shop, etc. My only complaint was that someone had evidently gone up highway 180 (Wolf Pen Gap Road I think it's called, AKA "the twistiest road in Georgia) and thrown a bucket-full of gravel on the inside of every turn on the road. I really think it had to be deliberate. Even with that it was a nice ride, just no knee draggin in the turns. A black bear crossed the road ~50 yards in front of me on one of the straights on my last ride down! Hope I can make it up in March on my S3. |

One of the choices we gave last year for a demo ride was from T.W.O. across Wolf Pen Gap to the lake, turn around and come back. The other was to go from T.W.O. up 60 to the Fire Station and back. It's a lot of fun. What I tried to do was go the whole distance at 40mph and not use the brake at all. Fun stuff. Hope I can make it up in March on my S3. We do too! |

If Erik rides I will be very surprised. Rumor is he has been reigned in by higher ups after a few riders crashed while trying to keep up with him during some past events.. Definately some liability issues involved to say the least. |

Dang it, I hope he's at Bike Week this year. I really want to at least be able to say I've seen him. lol Seriously, that would be cool to meet the man who made our rides. |

I spoke to Erik at the show and he said he will ride, but he will be very controlled. He said he doesn't want anyone to crash trying to keep up. I am taking him a Firebolt out of our inventory so he has a bike to ride the entire weekend. |

Wolf Pen Gap is one of my favorite rides. Sure is good to live so close to these roads. |

Bike week is March 3-12. I had my dates for Daytona wrong. Disregard my above statement. He might fly home first. |

I'm definitely planning on being there! I'll ride my Suzuki GS500F there, and probably camp overnight. Then the next day I may try to swing up to Deal's Gap - it's only 70-something miles from Suches, I think. Does anyone know if this is do-able? Thanks! Sean |

Sean Yes but a pretty fair ride from Suches to the dragon... Not sure about camping at either though you need to call.. Last year TWO was not open yet when we did the demo and opened just for it... Wheels of Time motel used to not open till April I believe, but that was with the old owners...... |

Two wheels only will be open for camping and they also have some trailers that are available for rent. They open up the whole facility for this event. Just call and talk to Brit or GT. |

Glitch, Is T.W.O the hub of this event or will it be @ SMHD? Please advise. The little guy and me will be there. G2 |

Greg, T.W.O is it. We'll be there all weekend. It'll be good to finally meet you. Sean Deals Gap is only about 2 1/2 hour ride from T.W.O, it makes a great day trip. Blue, Dillard is more north and east I think. Cataract, what can I say! |

Glitch, I'll be doing schedule rearrangement functions as soon as corporate opens up this AM. We need to be there. I'm scheduled for nothing but weekend IOS upgrades through July so I need to find someone (read as sucker) to fill in for that weekend. I'll be easily recognizable once I arrive on site. I'll have my personal bodyguard, Little Greg, with me and you can't miss that boy. We've got another local rider, Edean AKA Dunner, that may want to roll with us too. G2 If you guys want to see something out of this world we're riding to Indianapolis for the US Grand Prix -- June 17, 18, and 19th. Graduation present 2005 and we're all stoked up on that gig. Glitch - Cool deal, I guess I'll try it then. Thing is, I am coming from Augusta, which is already a couple of hundred miles from Suches. So I may think about riding to Suches Friday night, doing the Buell ride Saturday morning, early afternoon, then heading to Deal's Gap Saturday late afternoon. Then I can ride the Dragon a couple of times Sunday morning, and ride the 200-something miles home Sunday afternoon. My wife will be gone that weekend, so it's as good a time as any for me to spend all weekend on two wheels. Woohoo! Oh, and I'll be recognizable too - I wear a high-viz Aerostich, and my GS500 is bright yellow. Sean (Message edited by seanp on February 09, 2005) |

Hey Sean, If none of the flat-landers show up we can hook up somewhere west of Augusta -- me, you, and my son. It's not that far out of our way and we can show you the Gap in a very special way :-) I know you wasn't 3ID, but I won't hold that against you :-) You boys are getting me pumped,,,, G2 |
