Clown, Thank you for the offer, I did not check the posts before I left work and missed you after I got home, I REALLY LOVE STMD/BUELL. I have never had a dealership experience quite like the one I get every time I walk in the store. You guys are great. |

IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE! WOOHOO... I guess I'm going to have to start riding with ear plugs. All I had time for was about a five min ride. It feels STRONG. Next step: A learning run. Oh yea, and a belt. |

Sweet Odie! Fran... I left my belt guards for you at Shred's place. Had a good ride and picked up my hat today. Glitch and I went over to Shred's for an afternoon pit stop at the FBPC Garage. We torqued my steering head capnut, restoring faith in my front brakes!!! And we had to top off my oil monster. She was hungry! The flames look dope New12R... I hope your up and running again soon. I will probably go play with myself tomorrow. So if anyone is heading North... you know where to find me.

The enthusiams, and cameraderie here is outstanding! Y'all are a great bunch. Too bad you don't have anyone to fix up your forum here and add some custom subtopics and stuff like that, but that would take someone with custodial privileges. Hey Glitch, good to get SMHD on board. Just waiting for their banner URL's to get 'em up an running. Did you read the bit above? |

Stealth, have you priced out everything for your R steering conversion. I'm buying an upper triple tree tomorrow and will probably do the same thing you are. My CR Lows will be here tuesday but I think I may want to go a little lower. I'll post a pic in the morning and you can tell me where you want it cut. I'm also going to sand all of the flashing off of it where it was cast to clean it up even nicer. Fran- let me know if you ride it tomorrow. Later, Odie |

Just remember the immortal words of Mr. Shred..."Lean or Die!" Silverbullet....Making your horn cover right now. Fun ride last evening. Wish you had of gotten a pic of the wheelie....Yes ya'll heard right....one wheel....The wheelie Gods, New12r and Shred, should be proud. 1st gear to the rev limiter. I've secretly been practicing. Gotta keep up with the big dogs. Glitch...should have your oil cooler scoop done as well. |

OK OK I get the hint I didn't know I could mess around with the format of the board like that, I knew I was able to, I just didn't know it was kosher. Subtitle suggestions anyone? And yes Blake, It's what I've said all along. We've also had conversations about it between ourselves as to how we have become the tightest group of riders friends hooligans. It's like family. Hulley, the seat is your's if you want it. I got no use for it. B_S, I need to talk to you if you get the chance today. Call me on my cell. I've PMed you my # just in case you don't have it. Stealth Shred & New12r, last night was great. Even bikeless I'm having an good time. Not as good as I would with a bike, but good none the less! |

Stealth, I will cut and smooth on the marked lines. I also want to smooth off all of the flashing around the whole piece if you want me too. I think it will look better. Also, the Firebolt emblem will have to come off so it will get destroyed probably. Let me know....Odie |

Odie... The top cut was exactly what I am looking for. Do you think trimming the sides will help clear the flyscreen support modules? Will it have much impact on the structural integrity of the tree? I trust you, so whatever you think is best is fine by me. Glitch... What do you think? The parts needed are: Upper triple tree Clip-on handle bars and bolts R clutch cable Fluid tank reservoir for front brake All and all, it is gonna cost a little less than $300. Pete did his without the cable and reservoir so it was closer to $200. |

Odie... It may help you out if you put your bike up next to Roosters for comparison. We were looking at mine next to Shred's yesterday and I was somewhat surprised by how much of the modules look like they need to be trimmed. If I would have known this beforehand I would have bought some extras and sent them too. Let me know if it would help to have those too and I will see what I can do. |

Stealth, I'm going over to a friends on the way to work to pick up some spare XB parts. He has a 12R that I will compare with. His bike is actually for sale now in the classifieds. Smokin' deal I think. It is very, very clean and has tons of extras. Aztec12r is his name. I will post later after I go to work and tell ya what I think. Odie |

Hey everybody, I see everyone is busy modding and repairing. I just put on my new battle axe tires. I think they are gonna be a good compromise for durabilty and grip. However I think when the guy wrecked my bike the damage may be more than I thought. When the front tire gets light coming out of a corner it wants to shake its head. I'm gonna take it over to Odie's and retorque the neck and triple tree, as well as rebalance the front tire. I'll keep ya posted. New12R I like the flames how exactly did you place them on your windscreen? |

Rooster, check everything, and re-do your suspension. I'd hate to think the tubes got tweeked. Project Back in Black is getting there. Slowly but surely. SilverBullet, I'm gonna give you a call Monday. I have a question. Stealth, It won't hurt anything, it'll look nice. Don't worry about how much you have to cut the module, we already know it'll be OK. Blaster, where are you? |

Stealth, I looked at an R and something is going to need to be cut it looks like. Not for sure yet but it looks that way. I would not want to trim the tree at all on the sides as it is sort of an important part. The modules might need to be trimmed but how much, I'm not sure. Trimming them would be easy to do. I could just cut them nice and close around the contours of the tree to fit. I have the special tool to take off the ignition switch already. I think it is really going to take putting the tree on and seeing exactly what fits where. How much of a hurry are you in? It won't take me but a few hours to trim and sand the tree (but I still have to powder it)but a few days to take mine apart and fit it as I have pipe orders to work on also. My bars and everything are coming off on tuesday as my CR Lows are arriving so that would be a good time to start. Let me know. Do you know anyone else that has done this? You mentioned someone named Pete? (Message edited by odie on February 06, 2005) |

Stealth, the marks on the side of the tree were just to highlight the flashing that I want to remove around the whole piece, not to trim it there. Sorry for the confusion. Glitch, I think one of the most appropriate subtitles would be "Mods" considering all that we, collectively, have accomplished. Shred, you get that "said box" out yet?? A4TR, how's your paint project going?? |

Not a problem. I meant to tell you yesterday but got way too busy for my own good. I need to get back on the zombie shift so have more fab time. By the way, Rooster found some real cool tape used to secure sections of tile to the flooring surface. Real thin but sticks very well and is not permanent. Holding the buckle guard real nice. Looks great. Thanks again..Odie Rodi, ever get up with the guy with the Race ECM??? (Message edited by odie on February 06, 2005) |

Stealth: Thanks... I put 72.8 miles on her today. Two ten minute stints on the express way at 3500 rpm and higher. Then a little riding around with no particular place to go. I got caught in some Snellville traffic. Then I wised up and hit a few back roads. It's running good over all; just needs a little tweaking. (IMHO) I filled up before and after the ride and she burned about 50.5 mpg on a combination of Hwy and city. It's looking good so far. Motorcycle show next weekend. |

Deadman, I got you rolling but I have to work today. Luck me I have a transmission to put in on an 05 accord with only 8,000 miles. It is a crappy job and has to be done today. I am taking in your front knuckles to press out the rotors. I am sorry it is taking so long but I beat on the darn things for about two hours and they would not budge. |
