Just thought I would share where I mounted the TFI unit, seeing as storage on a 12S is a bit short and tight. I also found it is VERY easy to make adjustments if you have to, does not get soaked when washing the bike, rubs nothing, is not squeezed in anywhere where the seat presses on it! Just an option for guys who gut up the airbox pocket!! Bruce |

Looks like the perfect place to put it. I hope to purchase mine next week and that looks like as good a place as any. Did you utilize the harness on the left side to route the wiring? |

Has anyone tried using the the area the exhaust valve motor used to be located? (Message edited by navygunner on February 02, 2005) |

Yes there was a few pictures floating about, of the unit in the cavity of the EVM once removed, fits in good and can run the wires in the vacant indentations, ample room for excess wire coiling etc. I was concerned with locating the unit on the battery due to heat (next to rear cylinder fan) and or any type of leakage issues.. My pick would be in the airbox cavity, it may be a pain to get to but it's secure from heat and weather. |

Briz Agree with the factory void from the exhaust valve. But for those of us with the FAST system or gutted airboxes, that is not really an option any longer. Gunner The harness goes right in the left side of the frame, wrapped up the extra wiring, and zip tied to the harness bundle. Works good last long time I think!! Bruce |

Hogs, I would say not exactly 100%. The rubber plug over the pots just presses in so I'm sure a small amount of water could sneak in if you sprayed it with a hose, etc....Odie |

Hey Odie, Okay thanks ... I`m thinking to cut out the rear of the airbox/cover and install it in there with the proper brackets made up so I can see the sucker all the time in plain view .! Are the adjustment buttons on the face as well as the lights and its just a matter of picking out a rubber or so to adjust?? |

Hogs, the lights and pots are behind the rubber plug, so it's just a matter of pulling the plug to see the lights and adjust the pots. I put mine on top of my cut 12 air box. While tuning, I just ride with the air box cover off. Make for quick adjustments without having to remove anything. |

Hogs, If you read up on the TFI (not just here, but on their site) and understand how jetting a carb works, you're half way there. Just think electronic jet kit. I've not had any problems at all, other than running a little rich at hard acceleration, but I've not had time lately (and it's been raining) to do any more tuning. Supposed to be nice this weekend |

Carbs are not a plm. for me this new tech. fuel stuff is but like you said , idle ,mid range, and mains, jets that is should be the same as adjusting the box I wd. think as long as all my mods. don``t mess it up... |
