So is the Olympic Arms around $1000, Dennis? When I was looking into the BM at Cabella's they wanted around $900 if I recall correctly. I actually bought a Breedlove Atlas acoustic electric guitar instead. |

You can get an AR for about $750 if you shop around. The guitar can be used without disturbing the neighbors... they would rather hear loud mu sic than gun fire. GO FIGURE!!! |

S1 LOL, I grew up in Montana so my interest for guns comes from my upbringing. I really can't say I really know any militia though, it just stems from being out in the middle of BFE and nothing else to do except shoot . Oh yeah and drink and drive!!!! |

Hey guess what guys. I don't have to drive back from St. Louis on Thursday nights to attend BRAG meetings. I resigned that position today and drove home to Olathe. I start Monday in North Tonawanda, New York. Think Niagara Falls. |

Thans... Sorry, I did not see your question... deaf AND blind apparently. There are not very many places to shoot rifle. The Missouri Department of Conservation has a public range in Blue Springs and one in Parkville. You pay a small fee and can shoot, I don't think, but don't know for sure if residency requirement kicks in. In Desoto Kansas is a nice range, the name escapes me now, it is a membership thing. I think $200.00 initiation and $50.00 or $100.00 a year, you can bring a guest non-member to shoot. You both would not have to be members if you always went together. I have shot there often in the past when I shot matches. I was not a range member, but a club member, so I could shoot there only during matches. I will join that range when I retire. Now I use the LE ranges, and I am Rangemaster of our 4 position indoor range here in the courthouse. Generally, (assuming there are not any weird city laws near you) in a case in the trunk of a car unloaded. If you have a vehicle with no trunk, in a case far out of reach from the drivers seat, as far back in the vehicle as possible. Better yet, with a safety gun lock through the action. The weapon partially disassembled, or obviously where it is safe. Be sure it is unloaded, and if you have any buddies who have a felony conviction, don't let them in the car when the gun is in the car. Just them being in the car with a gun, could cause major problems for them, under some circumstances, it could get them a very serious federal case... 5 year minimum. Catch me at the next meeting and we can talk more about this. Sorry for missing the question. |

NEW YORK!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!? WTF? Better offer? It's a long commute, but I think you can still make the meetings. |

I just got back from Gail's Harley Davidson to get a free hat that the Buell web site is pimping. I got to tell ya it was a very disappointing trip. Not only did they not have any Buell hats they didn't even know about the hat giveaway. It was like dealing with the Harley guys that I always deal with. NOT IMPRESSED. I almost forgot they did tell me about the great HOG hats they have for a giveaway. (Message edited by kccyclone on February 01, 2005) |

I thought that Gail's told us they knew about every promotion BUELL had this year. Maybe Kccyclone just talked with a very uninformed employee. Hopefully if this is the case Gail's plans on fixing this. |

I was out there Saturday and talked to Roger Fleener, the big guy at our meeting who is in charge of employee relations. He told me they did in fact have the hats, and that all that was needed was the coupon from the Buell website to claim a hat. He checked, and I did not tell him about any coupons... he had to know on his own from the promotional material I will take care of this and relay how if they are trying to make a bad impression to our BRAG group... IT WORKED. I am &@#*^%!& pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My goal is to get you the hats... and an apology!!! |

Thanks Dennis, I figured since I was the first one there I definitely wouldn't get a hat. Buell the red headed stepchild. |

Message of kindness has been sent to Gail's detailing this shortfall in Buellisfaction. That's the good news, relationships are in place and we can communicate in a frank and hopefully beneficial manner. This is exactly what happened with the Knee Pucks, and the Sling Bag... you have to be an over-the-road truck driver and visit 8 dealers in different cities before you find Buell's marketing materials. And all the while they sit in the stock room unopened. Just keep kicking them in the shins when this happens. Eventually they get smarter, or buy shin guards. |

Mobbers... I wrote a LONG email to my liaison at the Dealership, Roger Fleener. I was blunt with the point that this kind of stuff as it relates to Buell promotions is way too common. That it sends a negative message to Buellers... and it IS NOT a way to become successful with Buell, and it is a way to give a very bad impression... maybe even lose business. I relayed that though this seems to be a petty thing, it was in fact a big deal. PLEASE... don't let this be the straw that breaks the camels back for anyone. PLEASE hang with me and give all this a chance to grow. If there is in the future any thing else like this, please let me know... and I will address it immediately, and try to educate the dealership to what it takes to work with us as a club. We are gonna do our part on this... and when they do not do their part... I will point it out, and try to ensure it does not happen again. You all do not know how pissed I am... after promising you all things have changed!!!!!!! (Message edited by dasbuell on February 01, 2005) |

Dennis, I appreciate all the support and help. It's really not a big deal (just a hat) but it's just the same ol' same ol'. I hope things really do change. |

Dennis: Do good things. There are going to be some snags along the way. I gather, from what I have read, that Gail's is willing to make the effort. Help them, know where you are going, and go there together. Fix problems and don't allow folks to get overly obsessed with documenting shortcomings...let them be waypoints. Court |

Dennis, just so everybody knows I did get a call and an apology from Gail's this morning. In fact they called me at 9:30am, so I do believe they really are trying, and seemed to be very genuine with their apology. So off to Gail's I go. Thanks again for the help, and maybe they will see that we really are a tight knit group and that the service they give counts. |

Kccyclone... Well... you must be in the loop! I have not yet got a reply to the email I sent. They must be planning to give me a medal for my action in pointing out the problem. OR... they might be hiring a hit man!!! I think it is one or the other!!!!!! Every time I check mail... all I hear is the sound of crickets!!! Hey Tripper... who was number two on that list of replacements for director. Ya might want to put them in the bullpen to start warming up!!! (Message edited by dasbuell on February 02, 2005) |

Just got a phone call in response to my email. I have been assured the problem is corrected. No one said anything about me getting a medal, or there being a hit man on the way. Tripper... the guy in the bullpen, he can be sent back to the bench... for now anyway! (Message edited by dasbuell on February 02, 2005) |

Good to hear that the problem has been taken care of. I hope to order a bunch of goodies from them, It would be nice if they would get some acessories in stock and some apparel also. Well I just ordered a Corbin seat, oil filter, 2 sets of frame pucks, and new light bezels for the bike from Daves today. Can't wait for the ORANGE CRUSH to be finished, its getting a good make over this winter. Oh ya, Sam my girl just ordered a tank bag for me from Daves also. She's a keeper. I must be doing something right. |
