Right side bracket doesn't fit for fairing. Does it go on the exhaust bolt (unlikely as there isn't enough length on the thread to hold all the brackets). The bolt I think it should go on is out of reach as the oil filter gets in the way. it looks like the bracket has been designed to clear the filter but is too short (unless the filter I have is too big but it's stock new). Thanks for help in advance. |

Nick, It goes on the front exhaust mount bolt. They should have included a longer bolt, but don't. I simply used red 742 locktight on mine with a mental note to put a longer bolt in next time I have the chin fairing off. Their jig is off a little or the part warped a little, so I straightend mine a little in a vise with soft-jaws and that combined with a quick pass with a round file on the hole and she slipped right on. I don't know if I'll have to drop the bracket to get the filter off next oil change, but it looks like a possibility. xbolt12 |

I noticed the same thing, looks like the leg that goes from the lateral part of the bracket to the front exhaust bolt is crooked... Needs to be pulled forward by a good half an inch... |

anyone post some pics,or send me them,of the revised chin fairing brackets,as the guy i got my jardine off is under the impression there is no modified new brackets, mine just bolt on to the drive belt idler pulley on the right, and under the side stand on the left,i believe the newer versions also have extra mounting points........id like to get them changed before they break and the chin fairing drops onto the hot exhaust, prevention is way better than cure in my book (Message edited by rigga on January 26, 2005) |

I had the same issue with the bolt being too short , I 86ed the washers and used locktight with the nylon nut provided.I will probobly go find a longer bolt and replace the old bolt though. I had no problems with the bracket holes lining up and the fairing seems to be very tight. Although I hav'nt been able to test ride it as we in northern ohio have a sh-t load of snow ,but I,m leaving for daytona on Feb 20th and will let you know how it holds together. |

Rigga, No pics (no camera), but I can tell from the description you have the older brackets (maybe revision 2). If they are shiny (plated)it is confirmed. The new ones are powdercoated black. This is probably because they are the same brackets with an extra tab welded on. On the right the new tab attaches to the front exhaust mount bolt. On the left the new tab ties to one of the forward primary case bolts (the next to the clutch cable at the chin fairing). You WILL break the old bracket on the left side just forward of the kickstand, so call Jardine or Al (if it came from American Sportbike) and get a new set ASAP. xbolt12 |

I found the solution to the bracket being a little short... I just gave it a twist forward to get the mount hole of the bracket to line up... As for the bolt being too short, I used the bolt out of the OEM front bracket, it's heaps long enough. |
