I’m new to the Buell world as of 12/15/04 I found a S3T with 6 miles on it. I’ve been looking around for a center stand, is there such a thing? Has it been under my nose the hole time? If no one makes a center stand what is the best all around work stand for a s3t Keith | ||

There is a centerstand available, or at least there was since I have one for the M2. Lots of folks like the PitBull stands, one for the front, one for the rear. How's the weather out there today? I grew up in your town just down the street from Hazen High. | ||

Bigguy...I have a DSE centerstand for my X1 and like it for minor work and winter storage. It is quick and easy to use. Not to mention, it is easy to store without wasting valuable floor space. For winter storage, I place a piece of plywood under the front tire to prevent tire degradation due to long term contact with the cold concrete. In the event you plan to do any real work on your bike, I would strongly suggest you go with the Pit Bull stands or equivalent as they are much more stable. | ||

Hi Mike, Outrider~ I was hoping to find one that was a direct bolt on. I have had a few older Harleys with one; my triumph tiger had one and all of my Jap bikes had one. I have had flats out in the middle of nowhere, I don’t like to lay a bike over to get the tires off e.g. pull the batt, gas tank, hope that the oil doesn’t run out or muck up the paint. Last summer it was a broken drive belt on my Road King. I got lucky when a guy stopped to help me out in his mobile repair truck; I still had lay the bike over. Now my RK has a center stand on it. How do Buellers handle it? Mike the weather has been strange this time of year to say the least I think southern Cal got our rain since the end of decmber. Marry Xmas!  . In the past 3 weeks we have rain, clumpy rain, snow, and a good dose of SUN. Last week we had a warm front pass by one night it’s a low of 28 the next night its 60 out. I have managed to get 500 miles on my S3T without riding in the rain. When it rains the rivers flood. I have been reading my repair manual, I’m off to find some good straps for my cherry picker also I’m looking at making an adapter to work with my Harley/ATV lift. Thank you for the Help as I said I’m new to the Buell life style/addiction so any help is always welcome! I use to go to work to support my Harley habits now it looks like things are changing. Bigguy...Good Question. I too miss the days of bikes that came equipped with center stands. In addition to practicality, they sure made some great sparkies at night. You know, cheap entertainment that usually scared the hell out of the cagers around you. LMAO I am not aware of any bolt on centerstand manufacturer for Buell's. However, since you are in the SeaTac area, I suggest looking up the KLR650 websites. There are a few manufacturers in your area and you may be able to hook up with one of them to make a one off model for you. Would be interested to learn what you discover. Keep us posted if you go in this direction. | ||

Last flat I had out in the middle of BFE we wound up using two halves of a broken fence-post and one large rock stacked in a pyramid. Heard stories of a fellow that wrapped a prussik knot around a stop sign w/ a his nylon tie-down. So now that I think about it maybe a center stand would be handier?  Rob |
