PLEASE stop often to check your rig. I'd rather meet you for the first time with your bike in one piece. |

Damn you Dave. I just heard its 77 degrees, tonight’s low 50. Then as Dave approaches, Saturday’s high 55, Saturday night’s low 20. Sunday’s high only 45. |

OK - the BIG weekend is upon us, and the latest word for all DFW Buellers is this (this is several BadWeB posts combined and editted): Sunday, January 23rd Dago is meeting riders at the Gaylord Texan Resort at 10:30 AM, and he'll lead the way. Everyone should be on the road by 11:00 AM. Kevin (fromwebb) and Paul (Cowtown) will meet everyone at Hwys 360 & 287 in Mansfield at 11:30 AM (if you're not starting at the Gaylord, meet there). Weather reports predict temps between 40's and low 50's. Lunch will be around 1:00 PM at Hammonds in Glen Rose (on the south side of Hwy 67 about 1 mile west of Hwy 144). The group will leave Glen Rose by 2:00 PM, and everyone should be home before dark. Monday the 24th Meet at The Railhead Smokehouse, 5220 Hwy 121, Colleyville, TX 76034(Hwy 121 and Glade Rd.) at 7:30 PM until…… Chris (me-RPM) will swing by the Gaylord at about 6:30 PM, and leave by 7:00 PM with anyone that needs a ride (room for 2, 3 max - will one car be enough? Anyone else coming from the North? Paul can swing by if necessary). If any of this is incorrect, please let us know HERE. It would be wise to gather several phone numbers to keep with you. Paul offered, and I will also email mine to anyone who wants it. The DFW gang is looking forward to meeting everyone! Probables: Dave (DaveS) and associates (+6) Blake (Blake) Cameron (Clown) and associates (3 or 4) David (Dago) Paul (Cowtown) Kevin (fromwebb) Chris (RPM) Patrick (Navygunner) Tom (Road Thing) Keith (Dark Horse) Jared (jaredkuper) Laura (bikergoddess) Possibles: Kurt (Madbandito) Court (Court) Looks like 19 to 22. If you are NOT on this list and you DO plan to eat dinner at The Railhead Smokehouse Monday night, please let us know ASAP. See ya Sunday and/or Monday! That's new shorthand, Blake... "Roadhouse" = railROAD + smokeHOUSE - get it? See ya there (at The Railhead, I mean...) (Message edited by rpmchris on January 21, 2005) |

Well yesterday was lots of fun First off I never wear tennis shoes except when I fly. Steel toed boots just attract extra attention while going thru security. So I leave my apartment in my tennis shoes to find that I have to wade thru the snow to get to my truck. Result, wet feet and ankles all day. I get to work on time and have no customers until 10:30. Bright spot, even in a blizzard you CAN sell Buells! I sold a XB9S! We close the shop at 11:00,I'm done with my Buell customer about 11:30. Our flight, which had been showing "on time" all morning on the web site for the airport is at 2:15. This doesn't leave me enough time to even drive back to my apartment and get back to the dealership in time to meet Comp Todd(our driver) an Shelly and Kim. I go to Burger King for a burger, put some gas in the truck, then go back to the dealership and eat the burger in the parking lot. We get to the airport about 1:00 to find our flight has been canceled Now they give us 2 choices, we can either hang out for 2 hrs, get on a plane and fly to Detriot, then to Atlanta and finally to Dallas! OR we can drive to Milwaukee to catch our connecting flight. Comp Todd agrees to go to Milwaukee with us to drive my truck back to Appleton so off we go. We have 2 1/2 hours to make it. I drive to Milwaukee on nice snowy slick roads, get to the airport, we made it! Our flight shows, "on time" to leave at 3:20 We go to the smoking room to have a smoke. We come back to the gate to find our flight is "delayed" to 4:00. No big deal. We finally get in the air at 5:00! We get to DFW and I try to call the boss to have them pick us up. No answer So, there we are standing outside of the airport with no ride. It's almost 7:30 so I think, I better call Dago cause he was planning on coming over to the hotel to get his parts at 7:30 to tell him I'm running late. Dago answers the phone and says he's already at the Gaylord. I tell him we are stranded at the airport with no ride and in true Bueller friend fashion he says he can come get us!(Thanks Dago!) We get to the hotel to check in. They have me in a non smoking roomand I know Comp Todd did not do that to me. I finally get the last smoking room in the place! Now we still have to track down the boss so we can get Dago's parts. I call again and get Terry to meet us in the lobby. I ask, where's the truck at? Terry says about a mile away. I thought he was kidding me. Nope, the truck and trailer are parked in a secure lot about 2 miles from the hotel so we have to get a security guy to follow us over there and let us in. We get all of Dago's stuff loaded up,Terry has to ride back with the security guy cause there's no room left in Dago's car. I finally get back to my room at about 9:00 I call Kandie to check in I call my mom to see how she's doing(she is going thru chemo) OK, now it's almost 10 and I am hungry. I go downstairs to find something to eat. I go to the first place I see food. They tell me they are open another 5 minutes but it's a buffet so go ahead and dig in. The food was really good and it should be, dinner(a couple tacos, beans and a piece of pizza) and an ice tea for one person= 27.95! Seems fair? I just love to travel! |

Shoulda taken that "Yankee" tattoo off your forehead. You woulda cruised through the airport on a special VIP charter flight, had gourmet BBQ in flight with a limo waiting for you at the airport. Oh well. Next time. |

We had a cold and committed group ride today! It started off in the high 30's , but Dave Stueve (DaveS) from Appleton HD/Buell said it felt like a heat wave (it was -15 in Wisconsin). He was there on his red XB12R, joined by David (Dago), Paul (Cowtown), and Kevin (fromwebb). I drove behind in my "chase/support" vehicle and followed them to Glen Rose for lunch. We were joined there by Jared (kuper). After filling up on BBQ, the group continued on their journey, warmed by the winter Texas sun (it got up to maybe 45 degrees), while I drove home to catch the end of the NFC Championship game (sad I was not on two wheels, but glad I got to meet up with everyone!). By the way, I saw DaveS "not do wheelies" at least 3 times! I had to drive hard to keep up with 'em, and it was fun wringing out my car - I haven't driven it that hard since I got my XB! See you all 7:30 Monday night at The Railhead Smokehouse in Colleyville! |

Yeah, I felt really bad for having heat while y'all froze! But, I would've gladly traded my comfort to be able to ride with you! It was amazing how cool it looked as the original four of you tore around! Glad I could meet all of you, too! |

I'm glad you went through the effort to bring a bike down here, and brave the cold with us Dave. I'd also like to thank you again for going above and beyond the call of duty bringing all of my parts down. One couldn't ask for better service. And like Chris said, those "no wheelies" were sweet!

Dear Texicans: I am unable to make it tonight and REALLY wanted to. From what I hear, you will have no shortage of questionable commraderie. Anything they say about me is likely false, I warn you the aduoly beverages do nothing to alleviate this malady. My suggestion is that you come posied with digital cameras. . . I am dying for a picture of Dave with BBQ sauce running down his chin. Have a GREAT time, eat well and we're all waiting for the report! Court (anybody can parallel park in Dallas. ) |

That's a bummer, Court. We promise to TRY to have a good time in spite of your absence (it may take several adult beverages since I'm now so depressed you can't make it)

Well, a great time was had by all! We had around 15 Buellers, with lots of Shiner, BBQ, and laughs! We had a very special dinner guest, too. We didn't see that coming! Pictures, anyone? (Message edited by rpmchris on January 25, 2005) |

My neck is too sore to bend down to look at the screen to be able to post them. Damn hotrod wundercar gave me whiplash. Sorry I plum forgot to do my part re the lingering new car smell. Catch ya next time on that. Can you believe the nerve of that HD guy tagging along and invading our dinner? I think Chris was telling him off and getting quite emotional in his oratory about how Buell motorcycles were far superior riding machines, with Dago looking on in smug approval. More later. Or check out the full sized versions... HERE. What a cool bunch of Buellers. Anyone have a chicken sandwich? (Damn HD guy.) (Message edited by blake on January 25, 2005) |
