Buell did it on the City X and the 2005 XB9R.
The 12 headers on a 9 isn't a good idea at all.

I'd call Aaron if I were you - he/Justin are up to speed on what works and will tell you what is just $$ for them but nothing for you.

If you're not pumping huge amounts of air with higher revs, bigger valves/cams - it might not buy you much for the $$$ you'd spend.

After... having some headwork done and intake bored I ran a twelve header and Latus exhaust for a long time with no trouble. I don't have any dynos from that era, so I couldn't tell you if it hurt or helped. I have also been through a lot of configurations since then and couldn't begin to tell you how that particular set-up performed accurately. I don't know anyone running a twelve header on a stock bike, but I think you would lose some low end torque.

well in the future i plan on port and polishing my heads along with over-sized valves, the bigger throttle body just made sense to me that it would improve power, i guess it did if its on the new 9r's, so does the new 9's have a differnt ecm than my 03? i just want to get my bike updated to get the max about of power out of it.

If they used the 12 throttle body on the '05 9's then they stuck it in the washer and dryer on high first since its 4mm smaller...
45 mm down draft DDFI II fuel injection for XB9's
49 mm down draft DDFI II fuel injection for XB12's

I believe it's the same one piece throttle body design as the 12 (verses the two piece of older 9s)but with the smaller 45 mm bore as stated above.

well if it is 45mm, do you think using the 49mm would work and be an improvement?
