I guess as long as I don't post the dealership name, this post should be ok. Had to pick up some parts on the local Harley/Buell dealer. I have an odd feeling that my dealer is one of those that will be discontinuing Buells. They had all of their Buell clothing at 75% off. Picked up a long sleeve t-shirt, mechanics shirt and jacket for $42. The jacket itself was normally $100. Too bad they didn't have any Buell leather. Anyway, later that day I was out with the wife and we happened to go by the local leather store. Sign outside said 50% off. Went in, picked up a nice, heavy (early spring/late fall) leather jacket for $100, normally $300. Wish it had a removable lining. | ||

My local dealer had all their Buell stuff on sale for 75% off as well, in December. I picked-up a few things - Service Manual, Parts Manual, Shirt, Oil Filters and a Patch. I've got that same feeling about them too. I think the 75% off is the handwriting on the wall!  | ||

Hell, most dealers I go to have Buell stuff on ridiculous sales. If the stuff sits for too long it looks bad on their reports. | ||

Just the clothing. I don't know if it's a sale or if it's a "until it's gone thing". It's a good size dealership and essentially, they had one huge rack in the back full of all remaining Buell clothing at %75 off. They have about 6-8 bikes (various). The discount on the bikes wasn't any different than what has been going on at some other dealers. The only non-clothes items on sale were two sets of passenger traction pegs and a manual (don't remember which bike). I don't know how long they've been discounting this stuff as I don't usually clothes shop there but figured I'd waste some time while I waited for the parts lady to help someone else. |
