Hello Everyone, Thought we should start firming our schedule. What time should kickstands go up for Sunday’s ride? We should plan for at least 200 miles. What time should beer schooners go up for Monday’s meet and great? |

If we meet at our rendezvous spot around 11 a.m., we'll have plenty of time for any number of nice routes around the Metroplex. I think you should pick the route Paul. I know enough about our surrounding areas to know you know more. If you'll be so kind as to send me the route via email, I'll map it out visually and post it live. |

Ok all, here's the route (more or less) that Cowtown suggested for the ride on Sunday the 23rd. TOTAL MILES: ~215 Don't pay too much attention to the little yellow numbered squares. MapPoint requires them to map out the route, and I couldn't figure out how to hide them. http://www.forthefew.com/routes/sw/ (Message edited by dago on January 18, 2005) |

Maybe you'd better pack some "cool weather" riding gear - they've revised the forecast for Sunday to be a little cooler (low 40, high 65) so "layers" might be the word of the day. Since I'm still driving my cage, I'd like to meet up with y'all at a lunch stop. If you do stop, where and when do you think you'll take a break? |

What time and from where are we leaving on Sunday? Who's going to swing by the Gaylord and lead the way for me? |

How does everyone feel about meeting for breakfast before heading out? Dave, I'll swing by and lead you there. We'll work out those details when I get my goods from you Saturday night. |

Gents, I can't make the Sunday ride, but I believe I can make Monday dinner. Are we still meeting at the Railhead, 5220 Hwy 121, Colleyville, TX 76034? What time? rt |

Well call me stupid. I thought I was flying to Dallas on the 23rd. I'm actually coming down on the 22nd so if Sunday the 23rd would work better for you locals we could change the get together to Sunday the 23rd. Whatcha think? - DaveS Blake, the ride is on Sunday (see Dago's post) and BBQ dinner on Monday at the Railhead.

Sorry Dave, I did some looking in the archives and found your post explaining the revised arrival date. RT, I'm not clear on the time either. Someone is making reservations, right? |

The only response I’ve received to my last post was Dago, who suggested we rendezvous at 11:00. With riders coming from all over the metroplex, I hope, 11:00 is probably a good time. I plan on meeting you in Mansfield at Hwys 360 and 287. I’ll be there by 11:30. Chris, if you can’t wait till Monday night, I’m guessing we’ll eat at Hammond’s Barbecue in Glen Rose around 1:00. It’s on the south side of Hwy 67 about 1 mile west of Hwy 144. If we leave Glen Rose at 2:00 that gives us 3 1/2 hours of daylight, does that sound all right to everyone? The Railhead said they could accommodate us anytime on Monday night. I guess it depends on when the dealers’ meetings are over and when everyone can get there from work. Will 7:30 work? |

Paul, I just sent out an e-mail to all the DFW group - check it out and let me know what you think. I'm all for the time and place on Monday. Dave - what time do you think you'll be done Monday? |

I should be done by 6 or so Monday night so 7-7:30 should work fine. I have a couple "factory types" that are coming along too. Whose coming Monday night to lead us to the grub? BBQ two days in a row! I can't wait! |

I've been told the "we can accommodate you anytime" line before and come to find out the true meaning was "after you wait at the bar or return after an hour we can split your group into three parties and find tables for you." I'd feel a lot better if we had formal reservations, if the railhead will take them of course. We have how many?... Davey-Bob (the SalesMAN) Stueve and associates (+6) Blake (the azzhole) Rudy Court (the Diplomat) Canfield Cameron (aka "Clown" ) and associates (3 or 4) David (the dago) Dago? Paul (Cowtown) Lash Kevin (fromwebb) Taylor Chris (RPM) Robbins Patrick (Navygunner) Ledbetter Tom (Road Thing) McCarroll Keith (Dark Horse) Thrash Kurt (Madbandito) Krause maybe Looks like 19 to 22. Did I miss anyone? Come on, I hear that Davey-Bob is buying! |

I just talked to Michael the night manager at the Railhead. He said their policy is not to reserve tables, but emphasized that a Monday night is not a problem and would be glad to have us. Randy Galloway, a local sport writer, does a live broadcast there between 5-7 on Mondays. Michael said after his show is over the place clears out, so 7:30 should not be a problem. |

Not to pressure you or anything... Did ya know that the Railhead is darn near right next to the DFW airport? Ya fly in, ya eat, ya tell us a few of those "remind me to tell you" tails, ya fly back home. Keith and I can pick you up and redeliver you. No promises on packing and handling though. Ain't nothing compared to riding a Buell cross country in the middle of the night through bone shattering cold. Jared, That's great. We'll add one more to the total. I hope this place is sturdy. |

And Court, you know that Texas BBQ is FAR superior to anything you're likely to find in a NYC dumpster! I've contrived be in Dallas Monday afternoon on "awl bidness." I'll make the get-together at the Railhead. I think I'll crash in Colleyville Monday night and drive back down to Houston Tuesday a.m. I could shuttle you to/from DFW if synchronicitation should happen to occur. rt |

Just a FYI... The Weather guessers are predicting a high sunday of low 50s and high Monday of high 50s. The lows are 'supposed' to be low 30s on saturday and sunday evening with lows of lower 40s on Monday evening... Of Course with the changeable Texas weather it'll probably be within 20degrees of this, one way or the other... Kevin |

Well it’s time to finalize our plans. Sunday 23rd, Dago is meeting with the Gaylord riders for any pre-ride activities and to lead the way. Everyone should be one the road by 11:00. Kevin and myself will meet everyone at Hwys 360 & 287 in Mansfield at 11:30. Lunch will be around 1:00 at Hammonds in Glen Rose. Everyone should be home before dark. Monday 24th, Railhead Smokehouse at 7:30 until…… Chris offered to swing by the Gaylord to lend a ride. Will one car be enough? Anyone else coming from the North? I can swing by if necessary. If any of this is incorrect, please let me know. It would be wise to gather several phone numbers to keep with you. I will email mine to anyone who wants it. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone. |

I'm swinging by the Gaylord around 10:30 to gather that crew. This will give us plenty of time to meet everyone at 360 & 287 around 11:30 am. |
