By jove, I think I've got it! Since I'm sitting here with a flat rear, fiddling with my bike, I've had an idea. Actually, it came from an evil little guy sitting on my left shoulder whispering in my ear. If this idea matures and can be executed it will dramatically change the appearance of the front of my bike. No permanent changes, cutting, or welding is involved. That's all I'm saying for now. If it dosen't work, I'll just post a meek little note saying so. If it does, I'll post a pic. BTW, what's the best method of cutting fiberglass? |

Guys, I went over to Mike's house(Rubberdown) and I say that his new "addition"is sweeeeet! Reminds me of an ST also. I won't say more on it,don't want to spoil it for ya Mike, but for winter riding, function and form are nice. |

O.k., here's a pic. I'll post more as I get used to the photo requirements here. Had an old fairing hanging around that I butchered and fitted to my XB12S for winter/touring use. First ride impression is very good. Great wind protection and zero turbulence on the helmet. Cruised at 60-80, took it up to 100 no problems. No head shake. So far, so good. Paint o.k., fairly close match.

Hey Rubberdown- Is that the black stock front pulley cover that you painted red? That looks really good, as well. |

What are you using for the rack on the rear to hold that bag? |

Cataract2: That looks like a Ventura Sport Rack. They have a whole system of racks and bags for the XB9S. As for the windscreen, I like what Rubberdown did, but I don't have a spare fairing with a windscreen laying around. Zero Gravity looks like they are coming out with something for the XB9S in the near future. I will be curious to see what it looks like...if it replaces the flyscreen or what? |

The fairing was some universal fit job I got off E-bay about five years ago. It was NOS. Appeared to be an older product. It had a larger lower section to fit around a square headlight and extend lower. Lower section sawed off and discarded. It's made of some sort of plastic which seems durable. Fairing is mounted with bolts to the fixed nuts used for the stock windscreen and also held by steel bars affixed to the handlebar. Appeares to be very sturdy. I got a little happy with the paint and sprayed the wire/pully cover and the hugger. I think it ties the paint scheme together. The rack and bag is the Ventura rack system. Seems to work well. |

Something I learned when I put my Givi on my S1... Your defogger in your helmet stops working! I hope the fairing works out for you! Jason |

"No offense but that just ain't right." Yeah, I know, kinda violates the laws of nature regarding naked bikes .... BUT, so does 20 degree winter riding and I wanna keep riding hehe. At least I can change it back to bone stock in under 5 minutes. |

Anyone got a link to the Ventura Sport Rack for the XB or one similar? I would really like to find out how much one costs. |

Told ya it was sweet!! Man I was just as excited about that thing As Rubberdown is! I am already looking for something similar myself. I just think that particular fairing and the way that Mike cut it, really flows with the lines of the XBS. }Once again Mike- Good Joband I'm still jealous That picture with the New Castle's made my mouth water, can ya deliver one out here. Too cold for me to ride. |
