Now, being as it's not appropriate weather here in Wisconsin to ride. What's a mold designer/machinist to do in his spare time? Well, machine custom parts for his Buell of course!!! I've always wanted a custom rear pulley for my S3T, but didn't want to pay the $250+ for a pulley. Yeah, I'm cheap. So I picked up a pulley & front rotor for $50 recently from a gentleman parting out an M2 here on Badweb. Here's before: During... And after machining. I hit it with the bead blaster to get rid of tool marks to make it easier to polish up. Should polish up nicely, and be a better match with the polished PM wheels. Not bad for about 90 minutes worth of work if I do say so myself! |

The one in that picture is an old Haas VF1. I think it's about 8 years old. Beaten to death, machining P20, H13, S7 and D2 tool steel. But still accurate within' about a .001. Good enough for "government" work |

Great Job, Steve! That piece is going to look awesome on your bike. Are you planning to do something with the front one too? My RS is chain drive, but that 'before' shot looks remarkably similar to the pulley on my Road King. Hmmm. AL |

Wingnut. A you seriously getting a mini-mill for your garage? I'm lucky, I've got keys to the shop, which is only 4 miles away LeftCoastal, haven't thought much about the front yet... |

Would you like some graphic work done. Maybe some nice Buell logo's blasted into your pulley? We may have to talk. I just hooked up with a guy that is trading me his stock rims for my PM rims so I will have my bike apart anyway. |

You want stock rims instead of PMs? Whaddya nutz? Anyway, yeah, we can work out a "labor trade" deal You've got my email. |

I forgot to mention, the stock rims I am getting are polished... The only reason I had PM rims on the bike was because that was the way it came from the dealer. I prefer the look of the stock rims. |

Maybe you would like a one-off personalized Derby cover??? I can make it happen! I could even make it with the Brew City logo... |

Yeah, that sounds like a good trade to me. I've got an updated BrewCity Brag logo. I'll email it to you tonight. I've even got a new chrome derby cover just waiting You'll have to do the polishing yourself on the pulley though |

Yeah yeah.. make more polishing work for me... I will just put it in the stack with my triple trees, fork lowers, rear swingarm, brake and shifter.... It's going to be a fun few months... Maybe I will have to find me some college kid looking to make a few bucks? |

It's all in the tools there Koz. I feel your pain though. I want to do the same to my fork lowers, caliper, rotor carrier, triple trees, etc... Then find a way to clear coat it, so it stays that way |

I talked to my paint rep and he said that just leaving it alone was the best way to go. After all, if you chip the clear coat you would have to restrip the entire piece and then repolish. TO MUCH WORK! If you send me that logo, change it to strickly black and white (no shades). I will have to make a vinyl mask so careful with the amount of small detail.Thin lines are ok, small letters are bad! |

That's easy. Since I converted your logo to arc+lines from the original polylines that Illustrator outputs. I suck at illustrator, so I converted all the entities to a DXF, re-imported it in to VX(my cad/cam program), and made a parametric/associative sketch. So what kind of file format ya want me to send you? |

Any format that Illistrator can read is good. (I have 8.0) I actually move it to another program from there (can't remember the format off the top of my head). Illistrator is a pain to work with at times. I prefer SignLab myself. |

One of the curves didn't end up working perfect on the export to DWG. I *think* you can open EPS based PDFs in Illustrator... The logo isn't THAT MUCH different than yours. Just the Brag logo itself is a tad larger. |

I am at work so I can't play with it, but I would try filling in some of the items solid like the BREW CITY and some other stuff. If I get a chance tomorrow night I will show you what I mean. |

Actually back when Dennis (aka Lake Bueller) was president I made him a beer mug with the logo and his name on it. It looked very cool. |

Yup. I've got a new/take off sportster one sitting at home waiting If ya wanna just trade, we can do that. I'd do the same thing with the pulley, but unfortunately, I don't have a spare pulley. |

Also, if'n you want a different design just sketch something up, and I can make it. P.S. Blake, I am not doing this for any financial gain whatsoever, just like the frame sliders |

We will have to keep in touch. I am just swamped with work right now. At least we live in the same town so we can get something done! I just haven't had the time to rip my bike apart yet, I keep saying next week... next week.... UGH! |

I know the feeling. Been working far too many 60+ hour weeks recently. Just gimme an email whenever you're ready. I'm in no hurry either. |
