Check out the S2, the testing grounds, thread. Lots of information there about the S2 series. Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the world of Buell!!! |

If its a 96 S2 it should be a S2T, if it is they only made 500 of them I believe. |

But S2t's did not have white frames??? There frames were charcoal. |

Actually, I believe S2spengy is correct, the 'T' series had the charcoal frames. It was possible to order the 'T' luggage and rack attachments and the lower fairings for S2's that were not originally 'T' built. This is the first time I've heard of a Parkway Blue body on the white frame...but hey, it was a wild and crazy time! What do ya' think so far Nit? |

Not all the 96 S2's were T's. The VIN will have a FT following the 4MZ for an S2-T or RT for an S2. The next 2 numbers are engine type; 11=49 state motors and 56= California motors. The next letter is H for the horsepower code followed by numbers 0-9 or X; next letter is, in my case T for model year 1996(don't know for '95...FiremanJim?)followed by a sequential number. EXAMPLE: 4MZFT11H*T30000001 for a 96 S2-T 49 state EXAMPLE: 4MZRT56H*T30000001 for a 96 S2 built for CA So says the owners manual... |

All S-2T's were 1996,but not all 1996's were T's.All T's had charcoal frames,higher bars,lower pegs,charcoal sideplates,hardbags,lowers,but you could order all the bags, bars,pegs,lowers on a regular S-2.And Parkway Blue was a regular color on a S-2,seen several. |

"The Nazgul" is my '95 S2 that had all the "T" goodies added by a previous owner. It is Black Sapphire Pearl with a white frame. Also, I don't understand why the kickstands on S2s are light grey. To match the swingarm? I think it would look better if it was white like the frame. Where's my paint?! Nice, very nice! Good work! PM wheels? Bonus points. Original WP shock? More bonus points! You have some work to do, but it will be worth the efforts. Congratulations on a great find. |

Kevyn, thanks for the props. Actually the original owner had the wheels chromed . When I spoke with him on the phone I asked "Are you sure they aren't just polished?" He paid about $1300.00 including the drive pulley. (Message edited by nitsebes on October 14, 2004) |

Beware of the header wrap--it traps moisture and will mess up pipes if left on too long, speaking from experience. What front fairing is it? |

the headers are already scuffed, got another set to try frenching on, like the wrap just not the third degree burns from the jean fire,, ,, the fairing is a reshaped honda vf 500,, narrowed up the front. reshaped it to the buell tank. |

Is there a secret formula to Parkway blue? Tank cover met a piece of falling diamond plate.

Parkway Blue is actually a Ford color from around the same time period as it was used on the 1996 S2's and S2-T's. I think it was used on their trucks and Mustang's. 1313 |
