...for my M2. I've run only Dunlops since I bought my bike (205, 207, 208) and am generally happy with them, but would like to try something else. The tire needs to be available in a 170/60, so no track day specials, but I need traction for backroad scratching. What's hot these days? |

Pirelli's. Pick a model that suits the mileage you expect. Personally I'm running Diablo's. |

Pirelli scorpions good for the back roads. I have them and like them much more then the dunlop. They last longer and seem to grip better, turning in seems easier also. art |

180's will work perfectly well on the M2 as well, for what it's worth. |

"180's will work perfectly well on the M2 as well, for what it's worth." I ran a 180/55 207 on my stock (not PM) 5" wheel and was not pleased with the profile. It looked like the shoulders were squeezed up, not allowing the tire to lay down as much contact patch during cornering. The Dunlop website said that a 180 would fit a 5" wide wheel, but a 5 1/2" is the optimal size. My bike came from the factory with a 170, I'll stick with the 170 until I get a wider wheel. |

I love the Bridgestone BT20s. They have good traction but they also wear like a stone. I can usually get 6-7000 miles out of a rear on my S2. |

I'm either going with Pirelli Scorpions, or Metzler Z6s. I've heard good about both tires. The Dunlops just suck when it gets cold! |

"The Dunlops just suck when it gets cold!" One lowside and one highside taught me that very valuable lesson. I'm not so much worried about mileage, I want traction for the twisties. |

I'm running Metzler M1's on my S1W. I feel much better on them than I did on the Dunlops. Switched to Michelin's on my S3T. But that was just because I couldn't turn down a free set of tires. They feel a little "hard" for my taste. I'll explore something different on my next tire change. |

I am presently running the Continental Conti-road attack tires and am very pleased with them. Good traction dry or wet. Long life. As a bonus, a cool looking tread design. Also the letters on the tire are printed right side up, that is you can look down at the tire and read the writing. Neat feature. |

I went with the Metzler Z6 on my M2. They are a vast improvement over the 205 Dunlops. Both wet and dry traction seem to be increased. With only 1k on them, I can't predict wear. So far, I'm very satisfied with the Metzlers. Dale |

I love Pirellis. Switched from Dunlop and am never going back! Even the Diablo Corsas got better mileage than the Dunlop sport tires...I'm about to switch to the Skorpions. |

I've put together the beginnings of a comments/comparisons table. If you're interested, check out the new "Tire Comments" thread in the tire section of the KV and give some feedback. |

I really like my Metzler MEZ4's, in the 180 on the rear. Much better than the Michelins I was running before. |
