I was going through the garage looking for something, and stumbled across two speedo sensor filters that I built back before Buell had an updated part. I had forgotton all about them, and have no idea how they got there, but there they were, all labelled and ready to ship. These are only useful for any tube framer, or the 03 XB9R's. Not sure about the Blast, I think they will help them as well if they seem to have developed an appetite for the sensors. They are also only useful if you have the older part. The new part fixed the problem, though I think they did so by tapping into the ECM power supply instead of going straight to the battery, which is a good idea but sounds like it might be a PITA to install. Anyway, the first two people that need it, promise to use it, and post here asking for it can have one for free. Post here and claim it, and if you are one of the first two, send me a personal message with your mailing address. If I promised you one and failed to follow through (I don't think I did, but I made and shipped a boatload of them, so statistics are against me), let me know, and I will bump the people posted below I am not interested in making any more, I was just trying to tide people over until Buell got the full fix out, schematics are simple and posted here if you want to build your own (or get somebody else to do it, it's easy). |

Hey Reep - Think I see someone in the back row who is jumping up and down and waving his arms. Think he might know the answer? Glenn |

Sure... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=3842&post=170040#POST 170040 I went out of my way to design it around parts Radio shack sells, but the smaller radio shacks stock fewer and fewer electronic parts every day. It occured to me later as well, that you could go to wal-mart or similar and pick up any car cell phone charger adapter you could find as well that takes in 12v (ciggarette lighter) and puts out 5v (like for a Nokia phone, many others). Cut it up and use it, it would work great, will be pre packaged, and probably only like $10 or something. Probably won't be as effective a filter though, mine will stop an awful lot of junk on the line. But it would probably be more then good enough anyway. |
