Yep...all of my bikes have corbin seats....the newer ones have better foam than 5-6 years ago....rex | ||

Trip to NY... Well, between various obligations, I'm gonna be in NY for one night - Friday the 21st of January. I'll be arriving at around 4PM @ JFK and departing the next day around noon. Any suggestions on where to stay? I don't need fancy accommodations. A reasonably clean (h/m)otel (internet connectivity is nice but not required) is it. Pass whatever you've got along. Court / Henrik - I've still got my NY cherry intact so you can tell me where we should meet as I have no effing clue. RoadThing - You gonna join in? -Saro | ||

I just got my blast running again. It's been sitting in the cold for about a month and a half. I took the battery in the house when I knew it wouldn't be running for awhile. I finally got my primary back together, slid the battery in, turned the key....and said a quick prayer before I hit the starter. I pressed the starter...chug...chug...for about 10 seconds before the blast roared back into the domain of the living. It was a beautiful thing. I threw the seat on, ditched the left footpeg bracket in favor of....rekindling this lost flame. Just got back, now I'll finish reassembling. I'm so happy...  | ||

Saro--my trip will probably happen in February, so I'll have to leave your NYC cherry in Court's more than capable hands. From the "for what it's worth" department: >> Use your seat belt when riding in Court's truck. If you're prone to panic attacks or carsickness, take a taxi. >> Wear comfortable walking shoes. For such a decrepit old guy, Court is sneaky fast on his feet. >> If the word "dumpster" comes up before you are actually seated at a table in a decent restaurant, run away as fast as you can. >> Trust Henrik implicitly. This statement on face value looks like it could be true, but Court pointed out to me that it was not his truck driving abilities that where at fault but the other 12 million other drivers who had no clue about what they are doing. Don’t get distracted in the cab of his Ford he has more communications equipment installed than a cold war listening post. "Wear comfortable walking shoes. For such a decrepit old guy, Court is sneaky fast on his feet" This statement has some fact in it. (1) Decrepit old guy (2) Sneaky. Dumpster the only place to be seen in Gotham. Trust Henrik unless he approaches you with a nail gun in hand.  | ||

reedxb, corbin makes some fine saddles. the one on my sportster has permiitted 1300 mile weekends in relative comfort. the corbin aboard my XB was used on a thousand mile day to good effect. i would very happily purchase and recommend the brand. enjoy. dean | ||

r.t. they mention the american tuner in that article. Corbin; they make nice stuff, and they make real crap too. Nothing but trouble with a Corbin for the S3 - and if you have issues with a seat you bought, their customer service sucks! Rode on that seat out to one Homecoming - worst 1000 miles ever ... bought a late model stock seat and shipped the Corbin home. Never used it again. Just a heads up about one particular Corbin model for one particular bike. Henrik | ||

Hey, guys! I just thought I'd give an update on how I'm recovering. I'm doing well, getting around without too many problems. I've been working part-time at the pub for a few months. I have my last (knock on wood) surgery on the 25th to replace my right ACL, and in a couple months I should be back at work full-time at St. Paul HD/Buell. I can't wait, I've spent too much time sitting around. I should also have my new bike this spring. Man, am I jonesing. I'll get another XB9R, of course. Thanks again for all the support during the rough times after the accident, especially EZ and BluzM2. | ||

As to Decrepitude where they not a Heavy metal hair band from the 70's, not that I remeber them my Grandfather use to talk about them.(or was that Court) memory sliping. | ||

Henrik, Gotta agree, the S3 is not Corbin's finest moment. I'd bought one for my S3 years ago, put it on for two rides, ebayed it. Corbin has a tendency to pull the seat cup back a bit, which is often good, but an S3 doesn't need it. They also over defined the seat cup on the S3 seat pan and brought the side ridge a little too far forward relative to the seat cup. Nice looking seat, though The stock S3 seat (99 and later) isn't half bad from the factory, though the seat foam is a little too squishy for my liking. Other Corbin models are better. My S1W corbin seat is a vast improvement over stock (THAT'S not hard to do...the S1 and S1W seats couldn't be worse). The XB-S seat they make now is VERY nice, much better than any of the Buell offerings, IMHO. Maybe because I'm a dealer, maybe because my rep is a bright spot in an otherwise dismal department, I dunno, but customer service for American Sport Bike has been very good with Corbin. They've fixed a few seats for me that weren't done right for no charge and were easy to work with to make it happen. Everything I do with them goes through the same rep. So if someone buys a Corbin from A.S.B and has a problem, let me help get it resolved. I don't think you'll have a Corbin customer service complaint in that case. Al | ||

snip: seat foam is a little too squishy for my liking. I later on installed a Propad insert in that late model S3 seat, and re-contoured the seat a bit for a better fit. Made a world of difference. American Sport Bike and Corbin seats; I know you'll take excellent care of you customers Al.  No doubt about it! Henrik | ||

Ductility certainly has its advantages. And magnesium alloy wheels would be significantly less expensive than CF. The CF looks very cool though. | ||
