I'm looking to upgrade. I have a 9x42 bridgeport clone. (enco brand) step pulley J head type. power downfeed quill. one-shot lube system. way covers. runs 3ph/or single phase. has x-y axis zero backlash rockford ballscrews ($900 upgrade). and a 3 axis newall c80 DRO ($1800 DRO). Includes r8 collet set 1/8-7/8 and quill speed handle. this is THE handiest thing since sliced bread. $1500 machine before I added the screws/dro. "medium" x-y axis way wear. $3500 for all of it. will consider parting out. I can show you how to move it through a normal entry door in one piece on rollers. 2000 lbs gross weight |

Dan, How old is the C80? I have a 1981 9"x42" Bridgeport J head. Not sure how the scales would work from yours to mine? I've seen the 3 axis C80's a lot cheaper than $1,800 nowadays. What sort of shape is it in? What do you want for it? -SD: |

the c80 is about a year old. I don't think you are finding 3 axis c80's for "alot less"? 3 axis topaz perhaps? http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNPDFF?PMPAGE=1479 I gave $1,740 something for mine through rutland airgas. I shopped all over. (Message edited by dsergison on January 12, 2005) |

Dan, A lot less was like $300.00 to me. Wasn't trying to imply they went for $800. or so. So, what sort of shape is it in? Any problems with it? See any problems with the scales fitting on mine? What are you asking for it? http://www.candomachinery.com/newallDRO.html http://www.kbctools.com/usa/main.cfm Cheers, -SD: |

I don't know what machine you would be puting it on. It's the 12x36x6 if I recall. i put the 36" travel package on a 42" table mill (30 travel) figuring if I ever went to a 48" table I could use the same scale. I'm really attached to it. it's one nice dro. like new. a finger print or two on the manual is the worst feature. good to know you can find it for 1450.-- bad for me as I'd want that much for mine to part it out. I'm looking into getting a Tree cnc mill. so I won't need a DRO for it. if I still have my mill by then I'll mount the c80 on my lathe? the c80 was totally overkill for a "hobby" DRO. but it is nice. I consider my mill in "ok - home shop" condition. it's all mechanically functional. and that makes it worth about $1500 was hoping the new ball screws and nice dro would net over 3000. |

I hate sellers like this. they are really just advertising for other stuff on ebay. what you get when you click "buy it now" is the 2 axis. well I'm putting my 3 axis on my lathe. when the time comes. thanks for the heads up as that does kill my "1,800 value" theory. so now it's $1,395 -oh well. |

Again, thought it was interesting, meaning the price spread, of the DRO. I do know 2 who purchased from the link and were very happy. I also found this pretty interesting too, for the price (Resolution: 0.005mm/0.0002). -SD: |
