For any one interested in a track day, that has never been to one, but always wanted to- has NESBA got a deal for you! Please check. <http://www.nesba.com/info/trackevents.aspx> I would guess the "free" spaces will fill up fast, so you might want to sign up soon. If anyone plans on going to the Autobahn in Joliet, in June, let me know, I will be at that one. |

I participated in a NESBA event last year. Expensive but the instruction is worth. They are a very well run organization, and I had a great experience. |

I am planning on doing a few. Joliet is close to me. I had been reccomended to go to blackhawk. having never been to one I'm sure I'd like it anywhere I went. Looking at the map The south course looks more interesting. ??? whatever. I'd be happy to go. love to meet some buellers. How early does one generally need to sign up for these things? |

Dyna, are you entering the number as (xxx) xxx-xxxx? I had to re-enter my phone numbers as well. Koz, I am planning on doing the date on the 25th with Daves as well. It will just be nice to get a little taste (for free) prior to the event. |

I guess you could say that I am a "NESBA-holic". I did my "free" intro with them in June 2000. The intro offer should come with a warning label that says, THIS CAN BECOME HABIT FORMING. This year, I have already signed up for my first 12 events (to take advantage of their 15% discount program). I plan on signing up for another 12 trackdays, later in the year. Those, combined with the other events I plan to do this year, will put me around 30 track days the season. If you're having problems with the website, call Chris Moon at their toll-free number. Chris is the Director of Member Services and the only paid employee of NESBA, a non-profit organization. I almost forgot....My nickname on the NESBA forum is "Buellboy". Surprise...Surprise! Kinger....signed up for the April 21 date. Palerider (Mark Antczak) is also going from GB. I'm looking at registering for a few more dates. I need to compare Dave's calendar as well (already signed up for June 23 and July 3). Still trying to get 4-5 track days this year. (Message edited by lake_bueller on January 11, 2005) |

A question for the fokls that have run NESBA in the past all my track days have been Buell or Buell/sprinkling of HDs only events without trying to sound like I'm bad-rapping buells (I'm not!) the MaDeuece will in no way keep up with an R1 on the straights (even relatively short ones like Blackhawk) I'm not worried about my ego (I got used to being passed when dirt tracking years ago -- remind me to tell you about my penulimate race at Sante Fe {only one speed way has a track of clay!}), but i'd not wish to be a hazard to navigation and ruin other's good time -- so, after that snore of a preamble, will a reasonably ridden M2 clog up the works? thanks |

I ride my '99 M-2 in the Advanced class with NESBA. I first got moved up to Advanced at VIR North course last July. I celebrated by taking the Buell out and running consistent low 1:50's. The Buell is going to be down on straight line speed and the other bikes can get around on the straights, if they need to. The corners are where it's at and you will find that you can carry a ton of corner speed and the low-end torque of the M-2 will have you powering out of the turns better than many of the multis. You will enjoy your M-2 at any trackday and you won't be a "traffic hazard". I know how you feel, though. I felt the same way back in 2000 when I started out. That was why I thought I just had to have the RC-51. But what I found out last year was, that getting back on the Buell for trackdays made me a better rider on both bikes. I now use them both equally at the track. I think getting back on the Buell was the main reason that I got bumped up to Advanced last year. |

Hey Bomber...What helped in my case, as far as finances go, was the fact that my son had already graduated from a four year university BEFORE I started doing trackdays. Otherwise, he would have had to work his way through community college! Dad would have blown all the college funds doing trackdays! |

Traffic Block; all the track day outfits I've done days with have several levels of riders riding in different groups. I'm not quite a road block in the mid-level NESBA and Team Promotion groups, but also don't feel uncomfortable when riders go whizzing by. Most groups have "polite passing" policies, and most riders adhere to those. As long as you're consistent in your riding, you'll be ok. Henrik |

Dsergison was questioning my MATH and I didn't pick up on what he was saying. It was my ENGLISH that lead to the confusion. What I should have explained more clearly was...I have paid for 12 NESBA dates, I am going to pay for 12 more NESBA dates later, AND I am planning on doing 2 with Sportbike Tracktime and 4 with Cornerspeed. When I said "those, combined with the other dates", I was talking about "those TWENTY-FOUR (12 + 12)", combined with 6 "other" dates. Thanks for the editing help, Dan. |

Rotch -- yessir, I understand -- I've still got 2.5 years of that particular duty to fulfill (although, like you I'm sure, I'm glad to do so) I've been OK at the Buell mostly trackdays, faster than some, slower than others (remind me to tell you of the source of the Q-Tip moniker I have in some small circles), but wanted to check with those more experienced about other venues H -- I AM consistant! absolutely no one grins as consistatly as I do at the track! others are faster, but no one has more fun! |

The wife and I are closing on our first house Jan. 21st, so I can't confirm/register quite yet. I do plan on registering for one of the March VIR dates as soon as everything is settled with the house. Hope to see some of you there! Mike L. '04 XB12R |

Hey Spike...I live in Danville so I will be at all of NESBA's events at VIR this year. I always enjoy visiting folks in the pits, especially the Buell folks, so I will be looking for you. I'm usually easy to spot. I have a gray Haulmark trailer with Triangle Cycles on the side. I will be riding a red M-2 and a mostly silver RC-51. I noticed that you work at Ray Price H-D. I get down there sometimes. The next time I do, I will try to look you up. |

It was full. It's only free for 2 sessions anyway so I'd end up spending the 165.00 for a free day. Guess I'll just have to wait until Blackhawk. |

Same here... I'm going to try to attend the Keith Code superbike school in Phx. I'll try to hit both dates this year, with three or four track days in between them. I may miss the first Superbike school in favor of another track day due to money though... |

Barber is great for Buells. I first went there in September 2003 and only took the RC-51. After the first session, I said that I wished I had the Buell. So when I went back in March 2004, I took both bikes. I only rode the RC-51 for one session each day. I was having way too much fun riding the Buell to switch. I found out that I was carrying more corner speed than I had been with the RC-51. My lap times were only a second or two faster on the RC than on the Buell. The Buell had to be down a little on the straights, so I must have been making up the difference in the turns. I plan on going to Barber five times this year. One of those times, I will be doing an event with my RC-51 owner's group, ROGUE. I can't wait to show those boys what the Buell can do. |

Hmmm.. I'll be at VIR on July 21/22 for CLASS, with the wife on Bumble Buell.. We're doing two days so it should be a great couple of days for us.. I've been thinking of doing some NESBA days at Summit Point as well.. Hmmm.. maybe a couple of others, the only problem is I don't wanna plan something and have the other half cry if she's not there.. Then again, I don't see why she wouldn't want to go along.. Oh man, now I'm thinking of all kinds of trouble I can get into.. Later, (Message edited by BluBlak on January 12, 2005) |
