Nothing special. Club name, as they have it on their web site. BRAG and the Buell Horsie. We can always upgrade later. Just something to get started with. |

How about Belle City Riders Thundernews? |

NO. Not Belle City Monthly, unless you can find someone else to do the news letters. Let's face it, unless you people start coming up with things to write about, and maybe even write and e-mail them to me, it's next to impossible for one person to come up with new stuff every month. Bomber may have at the other Club, but towards the end of his run, that stopped. When I started doing it, the only other person to contribute was Jason. People were asked, but nothing was ever e-mailed to me. Wes sent me something, but by then, we were done over "there" and no newsletter was needed. That, coupled with the fact that Racine H-D/Buell wants to "OK" the letter before we use it, which they have every right to do, will make the time to actually write it even shorter!! I guess this is something we can talk about at the first meeting. Coolice, I like your idea! |

I like Coolice's as well but how about leaving riders off? Belle City Thundernews Rocco, I may be able to help you out with some topics, let me think about it for a day or 3. |

I like Belle City Thundernews too. Any ideas are more than welcome. Everyone follow Dyna's lead. Even if you write your own} stuff and it's only a paragraph long. Some from a few people together with what I write and the Dealership wants, we can fill a newsletter. Hell, shoot it off to Hellion for a proof read, she is a teacher after all! I'm sure she won't mind! |

Well for a simple newsletter start with activities calendar so Buellers in the Racine store that stop in are aware that organized activities are happening. And put a 2-3 month ahead calendar in it too. Then maybe a rider tip and then the club member corner with a little autobio of a member or favorite ride, custom thing done to their Buell. Just a couple of ideas....... |

Great minds think alike. No joking, those were some ideas I was also kicking around. Problem is, most, not all, but most of the rides on schedule for last year either changed dates or didn't happen at all. I think we need to come up with a FEW major rides that need to stick to the planned dates, i.e. Braggin' at the Dragon, Belles at the Dells, obviously any National BRAG Event, and a couple more, if anyone has any ideas. (The Packers thing again, Starved Rock, Mississippi River area). We always have the website here to post if anyone wants to do a "Hey, next weekend you guys want to go......" type of thing. Now that Karri has her own bike, I'm hoping to go out a lot more with you guys than I did last year. The Club member corner I was thinking to follow along the lines of the Fuell Mag. Picture and all. Like I said, we can discuss it at the first meeting. Even at the dinner this coming weekend. (Christmas Party doesn't sound right!!) |

Rocco, wait till the end of January. Daves wants to meet with the local Brag groups, so we could schedule a few multi-brag group rides. He was talking about meeting with a bunch of us at the end of Jan. |

I really like the Belle City Thundernews, too. AND, OF COURSE, if any of you have ideas to submit to Rocco and would like me to look them over, I would be more than happy. If I can come up with some ideas I'll shoot those off, too. Running on a little brain-fry right now, though--I have to somehow come up with Finals for all of my kids by next Friday! Yikes! I think the simple format of A: Some firm trip dates, B: a riders' tip, and C: member bios or recent modifications sounds like a great start. Go from there and we can always beef 'em up a little bit Please let me know if I can help with anything!! |

I like the Thundernews idea as well. Rocco has a point though, most of the newsletter stuff is covered in real time here on the badweb. A bi-monthly sheet for posting at the Racine H-D store that adverises meetings, contacts and rides might be a better idea or at least more practical until the club grows a bit. We do need a hard copy list somewhere that can list confirmed ride and event times. Fishing them out of fast moving threads on this page can be difficult and the info tends to be kind of fluid. Maybe we should get a web page of our own where we can post confirmed information regarding and SEWER information, Club meetings and rides that are run by any of the local clubs, area open houses and unsanctioned ride events. I should be taking my wifes advise cause my back has been totally fryed for 2 weeks.Got get into see the chiropractor.Man they can do miracles.Lifting kegs of beer and case after case of beer every day catches up to you if you lift one, just once the wrong way. BTW I like Coolices idea for the news letter name as well.Rocco I'll be coming up with stuff myself in due time.I think we all can write a piece sometimes. |

Dyna, thanks for the articles. Got them all and will use them. I still don't know if I'll have one for this month, unless we just do an "Unofficial" for this month, then start letting the Dealership get a look. Dana, any help will be appreciated. I'd rather have articles saved on my computer to use then scratchin' my head tryin' to come up with something! |

I just had an idea for an officer position. Promotion Officer. Someone who would be willing to set stuff up. An example... We all want to do the Belles at the Dells, or something were an overnight stay is required. This person could call and try to get discounted rates for the group. Set up something. You'd be surprised what perks you can get from places when you sound that much more official. Just a thought. Anyone willing or do we need to nominate someone!!?? |

BTW, done the chiropractor deal in the past & to be honest it didnt do much at all. 3 months of visits 2-3 times a week & really no improvement. For a small strain they may help, but if you have any serious damage there isnt much besides rest & proper exercise plus limiting yourself. Broken neck from a car accident when I was 19 has led to a history of lower back issues. So long as I dont overdo anything & certainly avoid any extended periods of bending over & picking stuff, then im fine. Usually I can feel it coming on & if I stop immediately what I was doing then its ok in a few days. Damn snow was so heavy & the plow had put a pile 3' deep in my driveway. I was halfway thru it when I felt the pain, so I dropped the shovel & gave up. Used my truck to blast a path thru the rest of it My old job was pretty physical & I was always having back problems, but the one I have had for over 2 years now is a lot easier & I really havent had any back issues until now. It will pass in a couple days. Till then I will enjoy the vicodin & just be a little more goofy than usual. |

You dont really want to know do you? BTW, off to Madison tomorrow afternoon for an interview with a plant manager. Supposed to take me & Dee out for dinner. I have already outlined what I need from them in order to accept a job offer, will see what they in turn counter with. |

Very untrue Dyna someone must of been treating you wrong. To each there own but when you pull a muscle the otherside of your back has to pick up the slack and that is when you have problems.Rest can help make the pain go away but that doesn't mean the problem is gone. But in your case with a accident sometimes there isn't much you can do but surgery and even that can open up another can of worms with a persons back.Sometimes sfter that their never right. My father was a chiropractor in Racine for 43 years...very proud of him.He pasted in 98 man I miss his hands right about now. |

Its not always a pulled muscle, you can have cartilage break down, nerve damage, etc. Combine that with some scoliosis..probably spelled that wrong..but its basically where your spine isnt perfectly straight when viewed from the back & there isnt much a chiropractor can do. I have dealt with this for 23 years now, seen more than 1 chiropractor & quite a few Drs, other than rest & just dont overdo it the only other possible remedy would be surgery but even that isnt a guarantee. |

All those symtom's above sometimes can be treated, not repaired but relieved by a Chiropractor.Like I said though Dyna in your case you might not be able to be helped unless surgery. There is the risk of more pain and not being able to function as well as you do now. |
