Has anyone had problems with the fit of a Corbin gunfighter seat on a M2 Cyclone or did I just get a bad one?

I've never had a corbin for a Buell but I've had two of them for my BMW's and neither one of them fit work a ****. I had to modify each of them to get them to fit and a call to corbin was of no help. For the price of a corbin you think they would make them work out of the box. Corbin won't get any of my money ever again. Just my 2 cents. Hodakaguy

I did modify the seat and seem to have it close to a good fit. So then what is a good after-market seat. I really wanted a Corbin for my Nighthawk. The Cyclone seat, though a bit torn and worn, was at least comfortable. The Nighthawk hurts my bum after 250 miles.

So...Are is everyone saying that they would not recommend a Corbin seat? I was thinking of getting a seat this season for my S3T with the back rest for 2 up riding. I'm just curious if it is worth the funds....

I have a Corbin on my X1. It's okay but not for a passenger. I had a Corbin on my Duc and the cover split in about a year and a half. I understand that for the money, Sergeant makes a better seat. Try them.

Sergeant, I will look into that, thanks.

What about an obvious one, Mustang. I haven't checked what they offer but what about those seats, any good?

I bought a corbin for my 02 S3T - it fits like it was designed for another bike - CRAP!!!!!!!!!!
This is a big chamge for Corbn because in years past they were the only seat I would look at for stock replacement. I contacted Corbin, sent them pics, and begged, but they would not do anything about the poor fitment of the seat. Because it doesn't fit the top rails as it should, it jack-hammered my tail section, breaking the paint and cracking the fiberglass around the seat lock - I finally had to take off the seat lock because it was doing no good. Up front, the seat sticks way wide from the gas tank contour - you can put your hand down between the seat and the tank on the right side. At the very front the seat is frictioning the first 5 inches of the tank - there will be no paint there by the end of next season. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!!!!!!! again. Never again will I consider another Cobin. I haven't experienced it myself, but I hear Corbins are not sealed at the seams and many guys have had them sponge up water when the ride in the rain, or have left the bike get rained on.

Does anyone know if anyone else makes a seat and backrest for S3 besides Corbin? I looked at the Sergeant site and it does not look like they do.

I've had two Corbin seats for my 1998 S3T. The first fit like a glove. I only sold it because it was the "Gunfighter" model (not place to attach the backrest). The second one also fits like a glove.

I've been toying with getting a Corbin for my S1W and the wife's Blast. I've heard some bad fitment problems with the Blast seat. I'm not sure I'll go that route in the end.

Interesting. A friend of mine tried out a Corbin seat last year on a Kawasaki Voyager and had to return it because it just wouldn't fit without a lot of tweaking. I thought Corbin was the standard of the industry.

Corbin, IMBHO, makes the finest high mileage saddle available. My last Corbin purchase was for a M2 and it was/is a lousy fit. It's just not 'right.' I did contact Corbin and got a very positive response from the customer service department. Naturally I never got around to sending it back and, well, well, it's a very comfortable, albeit poor fitting, seat.

Bigdaddy,

Ditto, I shaved here and flexed there and it is close. I rode with the guys about 80 miles Saturday and about 225 miles on Sunday. There are two issues I'm not sure about. The saddle is taller to the ground than stock, causing a bit of a reach issue to the ground (short legs, heck short everything). Also the taller saddle means lower bars and that I'm laying down more. Great for heavy duty actions (I came out of a 25 mph turn Sunday at 80 mph), but after some mileage, I detected a pain on my lower neck. I will have to ride more before I decide if the seat is a keeper.
