I've noticed a bunch of newbies, and haven't had time to say welcome to all ya'll.
So instead of trying to track everyone down I thought I'd welcome everyone at one time.
If you're new, or newish, post a quick hello.
Tell us where you are and what you ride, and such.

WELCOME!!!

Hi Glitch...and all the other new friends on the board!

I have on occasion bumped into the Badweatherbikers board when doing searches on the web...been kind of mobile, so never joined the board until today (yesterday I guess now). I am retired Air Force, but now I work in Education for the Air Force (civil service)...currently in Korea...been here before; figured the XB9S was perfect for over here.

I am definitely a Buell enthusiast. I loved Sportsters before...always wanted a Buell, and finally got one when I found a great deal on a new 2003 XB9S ($7995 out the door including everything). I rode it in the Hill Country of Texas before bringing it to Korea...have four bikes, but wanted the Buell with me here.

I have been riding for over 46 years, but I am a sportsbike/horsepower fan. Always got the super sports instead of the touring barges...except for something the wife could ride with me on. Currently have the Buell, a ZRX1200 Kawa, a 2003 Sportster Sport, and a Valkyrie (not the Interstate).

I have only been a member for a day, but so much info...don't see any of the personal attacks I have seen on other chatboards...no foul language, just guys that love their bikes and want others to have a good experience too. We are all here because we love Buells. BTW, I like to party too : )

Glitch...love the picture of the sunset (or sunrise). Where was that taken? I am also a photo buff...

Thanks again for the welcome...racin' the wind and chasin' the sun: Cyko Bob

Thanks for the welcome. So far I am very impressed with this site. There is a lot of great information on BWB, and any questions I have asked are quickly answered. I live in northeastern Pennsylvania, and I just purchased my first Buell, the 2005 XB9SX. I only have about 90 miles on it so far since I bought it December 4, and Pennsylvania isn't the best for December/January riding. I can't wait for spring! Welcome to new members as well.

Hey...

Thanks for the welcome....Just to introduce myself:

I'm Ben, I'm 21, and a student at Valley Forge Christian College over in Phoenixville Pa(Philly Suburbs).

I ride an '00 Naked SV. It's been my sole transport for over a year now...but is broken(people ran into it twice in the parking lot in the period of a month...that's another story!), and I haven't been able to fix it in like...2 months, and no one 'fessed up so...broke college student stuff! : ) .

I'm in the middle of extreme riding withdrawal. Because of my SV's broken state...I've been thinking hardcore about buying a new Buell xb9r, because to have something which works reliably and is a well built performance machine...the thought is very enticing....

I love performance oriented bikes, while simultaneously holding image oriented bikes in contempt.

I love the fact that this board is filled with knowledgeable people, non-squidly people, and people that ride in weather other than 70 and breezy!

I was led to this site by TBSstunta off of cycleworlds forums. I have been around for a couple months reading anything and everything on the XB series, especially the comparisons.

I started off on a 97 banshee, moved to a 99 YZ400F dirtbike, and my big bike is now a CR500AF. I have been riding street for about 1500 miles on an 85 honda VF500F interceptor I picked up for $1,050.

While I want a new bike pretty badly, I've decided to hold off till the middle of the year to get some more seat time and experience in on my old VF500f. The bike on my list, the whole list, is an XB12S with taller wind screen and rear fender elimination kit.

I don't want to be the same ol squid on an R1 or invest in chaps and a brain bucket so I'm "accepted" in SoCals cruiser culture. I want a reliable bike that is good on gas and thrilling to open the throttle on. I also want something that stands and sets me apart. I do all my own maintainance so it needs to be simple to work on. While there are dozens of japanese bikes that fill the reliable and thrilling parts, the buell lightning is calling me the loudest by far. There is so much charisma, attitude, and soul in the bikes, much like a ducati. They weren't built for the masses, they were built for the few people around like me and you crazies.

Thanks for the welcome. Sorry I'm late I got held up by the dogfight at the TIForce thread - don't miss it, it was still going on when I left but be warned there's blood on the walls!

I'm in Ireland and ride an XB9R and Ducati748R road and track. Excellent forum well run and with good contributors.

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome.
I never really introduced myself I just started posting.
My name is Norrie.
I live in Edinburgh in the U.K.
I found out about this site from the UKBEG site.
I have a XB9S which I bought in September last year.
I love modifying and like these kind of boards to bounce ideas of and what have you.
I just sold my Honda Hornet to buy the Buell.
I always fancied one but couldn't afford one however I couldn't miss out on the deals they were doing on the S when they brought out the City X.
I haven't done much to it so far apart from change the seat but time will bring many changes.

Norrie.

Thanks for the welcome! Thats one of the reasons I like this forum, everyones welcome no matter how stupid we are. There seems to be a tremendous amount of knowledge within these pages that you just can't get anywhere else, not even at the dealer most of the time!

I purchased an 04' XB12r when they first came out thinking I would still use my FLHTC for long hauls and stuff. After about 6 months of not ever riding the bagger I sold the sucker!

Hi, I've been lurking several years because I don't get much time on the computer. I run mainframes. I heard about a Harley sportbike back in the early 80's when I was roadracing. I didn't think that I would be able to afford one. After 9/11 I saw several and thought now was the time. One of my racing buddies campaigned a Ducati and we pitted with Jimmy Adamo at Daytona so the V-twin sound got to me. Now I can't imagine riding an I4. My M2 sounds like the P51 Mustang that once buzzed my house when I was a kid. Butch

Roadsurfr,
My wife restored a repossed Ducati Paso in the late '80s, she talked to Jimmy Adamo quite a bit. It was such a sad accident that took his life.
Welcome to you and your Buell.
I love my XB9S (in the faster black color).

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome!!!
I'm a firefighter from Southern Michigan, like
most Northerners I'm missing riding also.
I purchased my XB9R last October and rode 500
miles in the three weeks before storage. I
started riding on a 75 Honda CB360T and moved
to an 89 Honda Shadow 600 still own both.
Started checking out Buell last spring and only found good things about them (except for top speed, but that's not me). I have only had great
experiences on this site and will continue to
browse and occasionally give my 2 cents.
Thanks again,
Trolldaddi

Florida man here, been on this site for some time now. Just bought my Buell though and this site has become home. It's the only place I've found where we can bring together our understanding of the love for the V-Twin. Many of the I4 riders never seem to understand this. They're all about going fast in straight lines and tons of hp numbers.

Each time I've rode an I4 after riding the Buell I can never seem to have as much fun on them. The Buell is just plain fun to ride. It's a no surprise bike. Very predictable which makes the entire ride fun. Plus, the Harley folk around here seem to accept them.

Dbird, Just curious but did Jimmy and Melanie get married? Before I found out that Buells actually existed I almost bought an old 600 Panta with 100 miles on the clock for 3500. Glad I didn't. I might have stopped looking. I love my M2. later

Roadsurfr,
Think he was married, my wife might know as that was her Ducati project I just wrenched on the bike. She sure loved the Paso in the Smokey Mtns!
Anyway, take care.

During the past summer I took a 12r for a test ride along with several guys test riding choppers. The ride was slow but I was the only one grinning like a Cheshire Cat when we got back to the dealership. Got to get one but I need something that the wife can come along as a passenger and be comfortable. We're kinda old.

I live in the West Kootenays in south-central British Columbia, a place where people come for motorcycle vacations (and ski vacations). Mountains, canyons, twisty roads, and tons of snow in winter...

As some of you guys know, I've been on this board for a while now, but haven't posted much--I don't own a Buell yet, so I don't really feel "qualified" to say much. I was a motorcycle instructor in a former life, though...

On the one other MC board I frequent, funny I'm often the "Defender of the Buells"--although again, I feel sometimes my credibility is a bit stretched since I don't actually own one (I intend to remedy that deficiency soon, however--I have put my deposit on a leftover 03 XB9R, will be finalizing the deal by the end of January).

Welcome Everyone!

I still consider myself new around here after a year, so thanks all. I've really enjoyed being here...

There are people here who are so full of time with the Brand, experience, and knowledge. I have to thank Blake and his custodians for this board. I have no dealership and without you guys and the people on this board; I don't know what I would've done. There's a belonging with this brand that you don't find with the others. How big will this get?

Welcome all . . . I am not new around here and it's thrilling to see the new faces, names, places and view points.

The Buells, in and of themselves, are thrilling, fun motorcycles.

The icing on the cake, I think you will find, are the people who ride them.

I've had the chance to meet a couple thousand of these fine folks over the last 20 years and continue, each day, to be amazed.

Most of all "welcome".

JW,

If you're in the San Fernando Valley - come out and play with us!!

Last weekend of the month is our BRAG ride - well... this month it's going to be a meeting instead of a ride - with free pizza (courtesy the Treasury and Glendale HD/Buell) - our guest speaker is going to be Todd Robinson - giving tips on performance riding techniques, body position, track days, etc.

When the weather warms up, we will start riding again - usually the last Sunday of every month.

If you're not yet on the e-mailing list, ping Candice and make sure you get on the list.

We're a pretty good group of folks and when we do go for rides, we'll usually get a good sized group together.

She's at 2WhlNut@sbcglobal.net

Greetings from the Texas Hill Country. Just parted with my ZX-636 so that leaves the '67 chevy in my avitar for my commute to Austin until the $ starts rolling in again. I forsee an XB in the no-so-distant future but for now I can only envision the day when I can saddle up and ride again. I hope to get together with some of the board members and share some miles...

Nice to be a members of one of the Best Boards I've seen on the web in many years...IMHO
