I just started the Buell, now it was odd the bike would not fire, but upon the second go I got a backfire that sounded like a gunshot and about 8" flames out both exhaust ports, coolest thing I have seen yet. I have had that happen before but could not see flames, I thought my boot may catch on fire. Anyway the bike is running and I must go to work, thought I would share my flames story. Has this happened to anyone else? I know my tps needs reset.

Could be a weak battery. I had the flames happen to me when the battery was just strong enough to turn over the bike but not fire the ECM correctly. Be careful it will cause you plug problems if it keeps happening.

No throttle, just seemed a little odd.

Blackxb9, My battery is in no way weak, the bike has never sat for more than 24 hours without being rode and I have a battery tender just in case, based on your thought I did check the battery with a tester at my shop and It checked ok.

About 60 or so.
I hung out with New12r last night for a while and totally forgot to ask about this.
I guess we were all too excited about Shred's new XB12R.
Either that to too busy looking for my spark plug wires that I left at the house...

I've had it happen to me, but it was always due to a low battery.

Happened to me once, but it was after installing the Drummer and the Race ECM before getting the TPS reset, may have opened the throttle abit.
