It plugs into the engine case to the rear and right side of the starter right above the tranny area. It is held in with one hex-socket screw and is sometimes a bit stubborn to get out due to the rubber o-ring on it. DO NOT bend the wires much while attempting to get it out. The wire(s) running from it should meander towards the left side of the bike and probably under the battery tray and up to a connector behind the tailsection bodywork right about where your left thigh would be when riding the bike. |

Yep, I've had to do it several times on my M2. Rotate the plastic housing back and forth 30° or so as you maintain outward pressure with a very slight rocking motion. Pliers help if you don't care about the cosmetics. Getting the connector apart can be a bit of a bear as well. |
