Ha Ha. I am actually looking for some information on the different buell bikes the advantages and disadvantages to each so that i can make an informed decision. I don't need anyone to teach me how to ride. My Dad had several bikes but no longer rides anymore and we are looking at buying a bike for each of us and buell seems to be a good choice. We just need some information so that we can then go ahead and purchase the bikes that we want. |

Daniel: First off..let's get the prelims out of the way. If you have never ridden before at all, get into an MSF course. I suggest these guys: www.cycleschool.com Lets start there and then look at bikes. How old are you, How big are you? These would factor in on bike seizes etc. Say and XB vs a Blast. Nick |

Here is another idea that I came up with after reading some things that Steve Slaughter did with their group. Do you think there would be enough interest in the group to have a Buell racing group? I guess some of these guys have managed to get Willow Springs to let them have a Buell only race group that races there on some track days. They are coming to Parhump for track days and maybe to LVMS. Just an idea to look think about in the future. Take a look at: www.sportbiketracktime.com They do their deal in conjunction with these guys. They do have some local dates here this summer. Nick |

Well guys the ride with the SBN guys was just a bad day. Some guy in a big doge truck came after Brian and I. Not just like he rode close to us but actually trying to hit both Brain and I. He was screaming and drive over the shoulder to get at us and all kinds of stuff. Not really sure what sparked him? I know Brian and I were doing wheelies… I don’t know? Then a little later on we had a car the was trying to pass another car and was in our lane, oncoming. But nothing unusual and we had plenty of time to slow down and the next thing I know everyone is slowing down and I check my review mirror and Mandy had crashed. Her bike was cart wheeling to the shoulder and she was cart wheeling into oncoming traffic. Everyone was able to stop and Mandy was not hurt to bad. Her riding leathers and protective armor really saved her. Her bike has crash protectors and the damage wasn’t to bad. It was unridable though and we had to call a truck to come pick her and her bike up. Last I heard from her she was going to the quick care to get her ankle checked out. I still not sure why or what had made her crash. Nick, I’m not really sure how much you talk with her but you might want to give her a call and check up on her. Then put up a post so I know how things turned out. Thanks. OK, guys talk more later. ~Martin |

Martin: Sounds crazy. Nick: I race everyday I ride the bike.....I wonder how bad it is for the engine to run it right under the limiter for around 20 minutes.....? Oh well. |

From Mandy: Just a sprained ankle.. some bruising here and there and stiffness everywhere else. My ego isn't even terribly bruised, i'm very proud of myself for getting right up and not crying. Full leathers rock. The bikes not in too bad of shape, not rideable, but with the aircast on my ankle, i can't really ride it anyway. I'm not quite sure why i went down. I probably grabbed too much brake. I saw Brian's brake lights, probably too late, and I know I swerved some to stay away from him and Martin. They can probably say more about the incident. I'm really really glad I didn't get hit by the oncoming car. They said they could see me a ways a way. Anyone you can walk away from is a good one. I think i was mostly distracted by the fact that someone was going all homocidal on Brian just a few minutes before. But that's not my story to tell. Thanks for your concern. I think I'm gonna take some pain killers and a nap. Shock is wearing off. |

Daniel: At 6ft I would have to say an XB or one of the older tube frames would be more suitable size wise. The Blast, as good as it is for newbies, would feel like a mini bike for a taller person. Dan and Jason here have one, and they are really cool bikes, but not for the taller person. If you come to the meeting this month, I'll let you sit on my XB9 and see what you think. Nick |

And MArtin: Dooood... that's two for two! I am not sure that I wanna ride with man. You must be like the dark one or something coming to take out all the brother riders... I dunno man..I'll have to think about this a while! Nahhh...just kidding! Mandy says she is fine by the way, just real sore and sounds real pizzed about the idiot in the truck. I guess that shook her up quite a bit as well. |

Nick in Martin's defense he did not wreck me ,but he did get me pulled over even after I tried to signal him about the ranger. *Daniel Nick is right the first thing you need to do is take a safety course they have so much info to offer. One suggestion is to not go out and buy the biggest bike you can afford start off slow. Good luck Martin,I'll go riding with you anytime, but next time I lead when we go around the lake. Talk to all of you soon hopefully we can all meet for a ride or even just a beer Later,Rich |

Daniel, you don’t need some girly motorcycle school… Do you think Thomas Suzuki, Edward Honda or even Eric Buell learned how to riding a motorcycle in some school??? No… and look at where they are today. That’s right! When I was 16 I bought a Honda Hurricane 600, which is faster than my XB12, and I would ride the red rock loop in my favorite summer time T-shirt and shorts till I eventually leaned how to corner faster and faster. And when I did wreck my bike (three months later) in the rain going down Rainbow Blvd at about 60/65 mph, I just picked up as many pieces of my bike as I could find and knew that once all my road rash (on my hands, arm, shoulder, back, butt, hip and knees) heeled up that I would have some pretty cool scars and Daniel, listen up, chicks dig a tough guy with scars. Alright..I managed to sneak on here for a few minutes.. Sammie had a great idea at dinner tonight... How about a strip club night out? Anyone want to suggest a club? She was talking about Jaguars or the something along that line with some class. Yes, she will go too. Anyway, something to think about for maybe February? |

On another subject, I received my forcewinder aircleaner last Thursday.... That's about it though. I took the old one off the bike and froze. I started wondering, "What if I put it on wrong?" "What if it falls off while I'm riding?" Needless to say, my bike is not rideable, so I am trying to ask for help putting it back together. Any takers? Pleeeeeze. I want it for the meetup this Sunday. Give me a call if you can help me. I am e-mailing the updated versions of the contact list today. Thanks....See ya.... |

I wish it did. I could have ridden it this weekend. I guess the manufacturer assumes that if you buy it, you obviously know how it goes on. Wrong!!!! |

Twisted. I'm over to Freedom Cycles to hang out while Nick and Mike do the engine on the XB, good luck with that John! PS: Maybe you've already done this, not sure, but you posted in like the old school section or searched it already ya? Don't know, I know I've overlooked that a couple times because usually I just head straight here. |

Just to clarify - we're TRYING to organize a race group. Glendale is sponsoring a twins class at Willow Springs (last I heard - still under discussion with Willow) They had wanted to sponsor Novices since they hoped to have a BUNCH of new racers out of our BRAG group. By the way, it's not official yet BUT we're pencilling in the June Sportbike Track Time Click Heretrack day at Pahrump (Spring Mountain Motorsports Park) Last year we had over 20 of our BRAG members and friends show up. If it does happen again as big as it did last year, they even let us have our own BUELL only session - a really cool photo opportunity! We aren't yet confident enough that we can build a list big enough to do a Buell-only day but we will likely outnumber the others out there that day. Sportbike Track Time does a really great, low-pressure training session for riders new to track days which is an awesome experience and really reduces the pressure. TRACK DAYS ARE NOT RACE PRACTICE - but they sure are FUN!! I'll let you guys know what happens when we talk to Glendale and then we're going to see if we can talk Buell into sending out one of their race shop employees (not able to mention names) to work on track with us and in the pits - teaching more advanced suspension setup and riding technique... I you Vegas folks are thinking of starting a BRAG group, it's VERY LIKELY that both CEO's from Glendale and Hollywood HD/Buell will be there taking part and it'd be a great opportunity for you to invite one of the Vegas HD/Buell bigwigs out to meet and greet - also talk to BOTH members AND store managers about BRAG. |
