He did get to 299, but he was a little leaned over at the time. |

I thought it was impressive, but then again I get a little nervous at 130 on a straight. |

Typeone, finally saw the ghostrider vids, now that's scares me!, I am more worried about that type of rider than the guy in the alps, splitting cars at speed scares the s out of me,don't like it!,thx for the tip 'tho, and thx again for hosting my vid! |

That riding's insane....that guy has a deathwish....and his bike seems like it's bouncin' all over the lanes...his control doesn't impress me that much. Ballsy though.... Still- if he can afford a Ducati...he can afford a trackday! Doesn't it sound sick though! Nothing like that sound... Yea...I don't think a Buell would stand a chance with a Duc at those speeds...where the Buell's running out of top-end..the Duc's still going. A tighter twistier course would favor the Buell moreso. |

I saw 299 KPH right before he got back in his own lane as the large yellow truck was coming towards him. |

BTW, turning at 130MPH is not hard as long as the bike is set up to do it! I haven't tried it on the CityX (I think it might struggle to go that fast!), but the GSXR's I've had don't struggle too much. My pants do though.... The CityX slowed me down so much, I got 110 the other day and the chinbar on my lid was up near my eyes somewhere! |

Just watched a video of a turbo charged Busa & the rider didnt seem to have any issues at all with handling sweepers at 140+mph. |

There's just a lot of gyroscopic force working to keep the bike upright. But...proper countersteering and aggressive geometry will have it leaning over regardless. |

What was it that Barry Sheene said in Faster about getting the bike, a 290 LB ultra flickable moto GP racing motorcycle, to turn at high speed? Or maybe it was it Kevin Schwantz, not sure which former world champion racer it was. Whoever it was, what did he say about the ease of getting the ultra lightweight, ultra flickable GP bikes to turn at high speed? Do you recall Greg? If not, please review the movie. I think it is in the chapter about Gary McCoy. During a ride yesterday I did some moderate-high speed runs down a four lane separated highway and experimented with slaloming around the white centerlines, every three lines. Anyone who thinks it is easy to get a bike to turn at speed has not tried that exercise, nor should they as it would be dangerous for them to do so. But take the bike to the track and find a high speed S-turn and let me know how easy it is to get a bike to turn at high speed. To be clear, it is not impossible to get a bike to turn at a high speed, it is just more and more difficult. At 150+ mph on street bike, like in the video above, it becomes so difficult that it becomes impossible to enact any quick and significant adjustment to trajectory, like when you notice a truck heading straight for you at a closing rate of over 200 mph. |

No one can deny it gets harder to turn a bike as speeds go up. I tried slaloming around the center lines at different speeds after another one of my sobering experiences. One time I was on the Buell on a three lane highway going under a viaduct in a long sweeping turn. Let me just say I was lucky to have three lanes just around 200kmh (No traffic, otherwise I would have never done such a thing). The tightness of the turn wasn't the problem. I just wasn't prepared for the extra work involved on a motorbike at that speed. |

Btw, I love Sheene. I still mean to get similar dvd's of Schwanz, Gardner and Rainey to complement this one. (Message edited by ingemar on January 02, 2005) |

Rigga, Enjoyed the two stroke vid!, having grown up on them, road one one year to Laguna! The ride to Alice's that year was most excellent, as we had four 250's,nsr,rg,kx,such fine noises! There is still a group of them down here, we keep in touch, good guys, collectors mostly! |

Here's a KTM ad/video that's pretty fun to watch. I know it's not Buell, but in the same spirit as above links. Save as please. Video |
