Received from our cohort at Gail's who is responsible for new Buell buyers being told about our BRAG chapter. This message came to our Yahoo account.

From: Roger
Sent: Thursday, December 23, 2004 12:35 PM
Subject: Happy Holidays

"From January 6th until December 24th of 2004 we’ve had a great time and I would like to wish each of you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As I reflect back it seems like everyone here at Gail’s was staring in the new show, ‘Wizard of Oz - Grandview Style”. When Gail was lifted up in that whirlwind ground breaking ceremony on February 9th and dropped off at 150 and US-71 on November 6th in those shinny black Harley boots it has been a ‘chrome brick road’ of completion for her to follow. During the next few months looking for the wizard who would complete her dream she met the scarecrow, played by Don Rooks. He was busy in the corn field scaring the birds but wanted something more from life. Gail invited him to follow the chrome road with her promising that the wizard would also help him in his endeavor in finding a brain. As they travel that shinny road skipping and singing they were surprised by a ferocious looking lion, John Crabb, who on the outside gave the impression of having it all together but under that exterior was looking for some courage. Gail and Don recognized his potential and invited him to join them on their travels and ask the wizard to grant him some courage. Between Dons uncertainty of knowing what was going on and John hiding at every obstacle Gail led them to her dream of meeting the wizard. The next person was the Tin Man, played by all the employees, who was looking for a heart. Again at Gail’s invitation the Tin Man joined them along the chrome brick road. Well to make a long story short, Gail found the wizard on November 6th 2004, Don the scarecrow learned a lot with his new brain, John received his badge of courage to face day to day challenges, and all the employees received a big heart to make Gail’s dream come true. Little did Gail realize that it wasn’t the wizard who granted all this but it was through her leadership and positive thinking that made the dream at the end of the chrome brick road a BIG success."

EDITORIAL NOTE...
For those of you that have not met Roger, he is a great guy... and enthusiastic about our BRAG Chapter.

Visor Question,
"Do they make a heated one"

Not sure, but they do make a visor that sticks to the inside of your existing visor, it changes darker when sun light hits it, and best of all it creates a air space between your shield and your face thus giving you a fog free--frost free visor for excelent vision.

It is made by FOG City I believe, I will check and see where I ordered mine from and post the info.

This year's Annual HoAME club NY day RIDE to breakfast will once again be held at 9:00 AM at LePeep Restaurant(7936 Quivira in Lenexa, 913/492-6644). As always it will be regardless of rain, sleet, snow, ice, etc. Trailering your bike doesn't count! : )

Please spread the word.

Treasurer and email slaveboy

PS: thanks to Judy Spencer who tells this funny story:

Jim, I called LePeep's. I asked if I could make reservations for New Years' Day for about 50 people at 9AM, and he said he couldn't do that. He has this "biker group" that comes in and kind of takes over the place!

Thailand: Many of you know my son in a missionary in Thailand. He called this morning to let us know he was ok. We had not even heard of the earthquake yet. It was one o'clock in the morning there and 11:30 KC time. He and 4 friends had just got off a long boat about 5 to 10 min. before the title wave hit where they had just gone up the hill and looked back to see the bay empty of it's water. He said people were getting out of the boats and running to land. He said he saw the title wave coming in. He said he saw one long boat go up in the air, the luggage and people came out of the boat and they all disappear under the title wave. It was said on CNN that it was an 8.9 and changed to a 9. He and all his friends had spent the Christmas vacation on the island of Phi Phi. He said that the news reported about a 30 ft. wave hit that island. He is now back in Shang Mai were he lives. All is well with them.
If any of you had wondered about him thats the news. We will remember those people in our prayers and thank God for our son and his friends safety.
