This kind of looks like what you might get if you mated a Ducati with a Buell. http://www.motomorini.com/lemoto_corsaro.asp |

This is a Moto Morini Corsaro, a 1200 cc. 87 degree vee twin. Moto Morini had a fabulous twin overhead cam single in the 1960's and almost beat Honda for the World Championship with the immortal Tarquino Provini aboard. My twin brother had one of their production 200 cc. racers at that time, it was fast in it's day. The current unit has a bore and stroke of 107x66 mm producing 140 horsepower at 8500 with max torque of 91 ft lb. at 6500. Claimed dry wt is 435 lb. Twin 54mm injector bodies, fuel injection by Marelli. Forks are upside down 50mm Marozocci adjustable, and the rear shock is by Sachs.Brembo supplies the wheels and brakes and Pirelli Diablo tires complete the package. Colors are black and silver or red and silver. There is also a 998cc. version called the 9 1/2. Expensive. I wouldn't mind having one, just for old times sake:-) |

Nice bike...I really like the look. Hope the Buell designers study the bike. It could provide them with a multitude of ideas for a classy Euro look instead of the Cheesehead, made in a barn look currently sold. Apologies to Buell and all Buell owners for the comment. I know you love your Buell as much as I do mine. However, if we don't have the fastest scoot on the market, I think it makes perfect sense to make it look like a quality Euro Bike with a few cosmetic changes. The addition of a few angles and some non-playground jungle gym colors could really make the XB series a true work of art. Just my humble opinion. Please don't take any offense. |
