The seller photoshopped out the engine, badly. Interesting, but I guess it prevents people from making wrong assumptions. Look at the photo that shows the front drive chain sprocket... suspended in space |

That bike's been listed before, and was also the subject of another thread on BadWeB, maybe a couple of months ago. |

I will sell you a complete RS1200 for $5000. That includes the engine and it's not been chopped up like that monstosity. |

That thing is a mess. The tail is destroyed. I do like the photoshop job. there is nothing holding the bike up! The front of the shock is attached to nothing so the bike should fold in half. |

Hi Buelliedan is that serious $5000 for a complete RS/RSS? I was interested in the "bike" but i suppose it's to expensive for that condition. What would you bid on that? And i'm still loking for a RR1000 in Europe |

Had the RS at a Harley open house once (to see Erik and the Thunderbolts) should have taken a sign "Yes it flips up, no you can't touch it." Hopefully you'll let the common-as-dirt RSs ride along with the RSSs. |

First I have to get both of them road worthy before I can even think about riding either one of them. Each one has a few minor issues at this time. |

Send me one, I'll get it road worthy! Then it'll be closer for the Homecoming I finally broke down and went through my RS, new brakes, rebuilt suspension, new chain, tires... amazing difference. It went from "this is my carefully rode classic" to the first bike I ever got a speeding ticket on Him: "you were really flying around that last corner" (48 in a 35) Me: "really? I slowed *way* down for that last corner" |

First I have to get both of them road worthy before I can even think about riding either one of them If you need any help drop me a line, i have all the literature, manuals and such if you need it, plus an original unmolested version in the garage, needs brakes but i am kinda working on that R |

My biggest issue on both of them is they need the fork seals replaced. Nobody in town wants to touch that job itseems and it's one of the few things that I do not know how to do on a bike. |

That makes no sense, the RSS has a very similar set up to you S1, and wrecked S3, the Rs, if i remember right, has regular forks, i realize there anti dive and all, but seals should be no big deal, think about trying "gasp" one of the import shops Did my S3 forks last winter, replaced Du bushings seals and spring, wasnt that big of a deal, but i would buy a seal tool, better than the pvc deal Good Luck R |

A KTM dealer might do the WP forks. A lot of KTM's used them. |

Hi Buelliedan if you need parts(seals etc.) for the RS, try a Ducati dealer the first 851, Paso 750 and 906 had the same fork. If you cant get the parts, let me know it, these parts are very common in europe (Marzocchi is italian). For the RSS try KTM, they bought WP a year or two ago (WP is from netherland). Hope i could help you |

Its the anti dive on the RS that has me and others terrified. I can't find any info on how to work on these forks. |

I can send you a copy of the parts manual or owner's manual but i think Dave has them also. But as far as I know the Anti Dive System is just connected to the forks via 2 bolts, I took them off once and replaced the oil and everything works fine. So it should be no problem to replace the seals as the anti dive is a closed system outside the fork. Why should start a new thread: restoring old school Buells |

OK i am sure i am wrong to some degree, but this is how i think the anti dive works, please, please correct me when i am wrong Some older bikes had forks with air preasure in them to regulate there stifness, the anti dive system works with the brakes to stop the flow of air from the fork to a res. under the faring, when this movement of air is stoped, the forks can not dip as much as they would noramally, this is done via the brakes i think, so disconecting them should be no big deal, but dont take my word on it, i am sure there are others that might be able to explain it better I guess the bigest problem would be what to set the air at once there fixed And no i have not done this to my bike yet, but i have had the farings off, and it seems thats the way it works, better ask Court or DaveG Hope that helps a little R (and dont forget i an sure i am wrong to some degree or another) |

I already have the manual and it is unclear how to work with the anti-dive. I just donb't want to screw something up that is going to be next to impossible to find parts for. |

Roger has explained the function perfect, I could'nt do it better with my english. Don't worry so much Dan, if you need to change fork oil you have unscrew the anti dive. In the parts manual the fork legs are complete stock Marzocchi items with no special parts in it. Perhaps you can ask Aaron as the RR1000 uses the same fork and anti dive. |

Interesting read. Am just wondering where Court and all the Anon's are when their knowledge would be helpful. Probably out shopping for the Holidays. LOL Whoops, wonder if I will get spanked by some custodian for using the word "Holiday." |

Just visit www.tracksideengineering.com he's been working on Buells and Buell factory racebike suspensions for a long time and his day job is with a major supplier of suspension parts to HD/Buell. He's the one that did my RS forks and shock. (Message edited by josh_ on December 16, 2004) |

Dan, I'd have it for $5,000.00, HOWEVER, I recently discovered that I can't register a pre 95 Buell in Canada!!!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH You can register a stinking home made chopper but now a well hand crafted sport touring bike. Bloody Upper Canadians |

Buelliedan, Ya know, *IF* I had the spare $5K laying around, I would snatch the RS from you in a heartbeat. Then We'd have more Buells than you! Neener neener neener! btw, make sure and look me up when you come to "homecoming". Us "6 Buellers" need to stick together |
