Anyone here ever had the good fortune to partake of a Czech lager called Velke Popovice Kozel? I really like the Boddington's Pub Ale in the pint can with the widget. Theakston's OP is great. Yeungling Lager, yes very good. Brooklyn Brown Ale. I like it. Guiness Extra Stout... of course, yes, I agree. It's hard to beat Shiner Cosmo's Reserve, Bock and Hefeweizen. I get bored with the same beer after a while. Variety is good. Excellent topic! (Message edited by blake on December 20, 2004) |

How about a Sammy (Adams)? A different domestic brand beer for a different kind of domestic brand rider. |

You bet. Shiner Hefeweisen is brewed right cheer in Texas, at the Spoetzl brewery in Shiner. I sampled some good hefeweisen on the West coast too. In fact that is where I sampled my first ever hefeweisen. |

Its available just about everywhere. Hefeweizen is a style of beer, not a brand. It means yeast-wheat. |

The best beer I've ever had (not excluding my own, BTW) is Granville Island Brewery's Gastown Amber Ale. If you're ever in western Canada, don't pass up a taste test. You will not be disappointed. |

Most of the commercially available Belgian White Ales are pretty good. Hoegarden, Blue Moon... Otter Creek makes pretty good brews. http://www.wolavers.com/home/otter_creek.html |

You want a good Mexican beer try Negra Leon. Of course you can only buy it in the Yucatan. Negra Modelo is a close second. And Club Havana on the rocks w/ a twist of limona....ahhh, outstanding. Would someone spark me a Cohiba, por favor? Rob |

Funny how much attention this post got! Also, while we have cited different brews, no one is arguing. Perhaps the Muslims need to start drinking beer? |

For some reason I'm afraid beer will not have the desired effect on them. |

I'm not much of a beer drinker, I prefer scotch, but on a hot day a Hoegaarden in a frosted glass slips down nicely. http://www.silrubin.com/hoeg_white.htm |

That is a Beer engine, some call them Beer pumps, or hand pulls, they are use to serve true English ales, and as a rule to serve beers with low to no carbonation, while it sound not all that good, once you have one, you will never go back, by far most good beer taste better once served with one, that one is my oldest model made by Beer Pumps LTD, England 1982, the other i have is an Anigram pupm, wich is considered better, but is newer and has an aluminum cylinder for drawing the beer, just not as cool looking but in actuality better for serving All part of the colection i have amsed over a decade of home brewing R |

A guy comes home from work and plops down on the sofa. "Honey, would you please get me a beer? I think I've got some time before it starts." After downing the first one his wife cheerfully handed him, he calls out again, "Honey, another beer please? It hasn't started yet." Another beer comes & goes and another call comes out, "Honey, how 'bout another beer? I think there's still a little more time before it starts." After the third beer is drained, he calls out yet again, "Honey,...?" His wife storms to the sofa and yells, "You lazy sonofabitch, you think I've got nothing better to do than hand your drunken butt more beer all night long??!!" "Crap," he mutters, "now it's started." |
