ION also has a major plant in Auckland, New Zealand, and is building a new plant in Kentucky in the U.S. The company is a key supplier of cast-alloy wheels to U.S. motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson Inc. (HDI). So what does that mean for the rims on our XB's? |

I did a "Buell on the Road" program when I did the LAP OF AMERICA in 1995. If was kinda fun...called in a few minutes before 10 each morning...stood by during the commercial and did a 3 minute interview. Erik and I did an appearance on the Bob Collins show in Chicago once. I have a tape of it, wish I could figure out how to convert a cassette to a .wav file. No one better than THE Woz to do this type of show...I can't wait. Court |

Court; once I get the office set up (think 4 - 6 months) I'll take a crack at converting that file. Shouldn't be a big project. Henrik |

Court, I converted my tapes to WAV by using a Walkman and a double male 1/8" stereo jack right into the input on my sound card of the computer. Hit play on the walkman and then start up a Wave Studio program and hit record...worked great as I did about 500 tapes and converted them to MP3s this way. |

Here ya go! http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/drives/6908/ Of course, anyone could just stick a cable available at radio shack from the output of a walkman to the mic jack of a desktop, and use the windows built in sound recorder to make a wave file, and fiddle with the volume until it sounds right, but where is the sport in that. Some other *very* cool stuff at that site as well. Just ordered a smoke ring gun for a Christmas gift. |

"So what does that mean for the rims on our XB's?" Nothing they are not made by Castalloy / Ion and have not supplied wheels to Buell since the end of the Tube frame range. New V-Rod Alloys are made there as well as other HD wheels. I recieved the notice of creditors meeting the day it was held, they are not into me for a huge amount, the thing that gaulls is they ordered goods and I delivered them the same day, that was the night befor they went under. My xmas present to myself this year might be a bit slim, in the food chain an unsecured creditor is at the bottom. |

Tripper has a plot to take over the world... one BRAG group at a time! But watch him... he gets things to a fever pitch... then moves to the other side of the state... leaving some old poor crippled sickly man to quell the riot!

with the holidaze fast approaching, I'll be a bit thin on the ground (TWO WEEKS OFF! WOO HOO), and would be connected to the net much -- I wanted to rememebr to tender my heartfelt wishes to all Humankind has found reasons to celebrate this time of year for as long as we've kept records -- not a surprise, since the return of the sun, and the lengthening of days is certainly welcome. While our various faiths and calendars have altered the timing and intent behind our celebrations, most people find reasons to draw close to friends, loved ones, and colleagues this time of year. Whether you celebrate a harvest, the birth of a carpenter, a festival of lights, or dance around an oak tree at midnight, I hope this season brings you and the people you love peace, joy and happiness. I gave up dogma for lent |

OUCH!!! You've gone and touched a very sore spot with me. So at the risk of initiating a vigorous discussion involving religious faiths and constitutionality and all manner of divisive argument leading to the disintegration of decorum on the board, the demise of BadWetherBikers.com, and the ultimate end of the world, I feel overwhelmingly compelled to lash out hatefully at you. Are you ready? Wait. Didn't we do this last year too? Geez (short for Jesus I think), Obviously I didn't communicate too well last year. I REALLY need to learn stop prevaricating and say what is on my mind! But maybe it's worth another go round? It seems that in attempting to avoid any risk of offending anyone, you risk offending the majority, me included. How could it not belittle the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to refer to it merely as a celebration of "the birth of a carpenter"? Seriously. Maybe I'm oversensitive due to the insidious and pervasive PC culture being thrown in my face every day, but your chosen characterization of a holiday I hold very dear is offensive to me. I see it as belittling and diminishing Christmas and in fact dishonest. I hear tell that the vast majority of Americans and around 2BILLION people worldwide celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ for much more than his impact on the world as a carpenter, which I feel safe to say, was negligible. Jesus at a minimum was THE most influential philosopher, minister, and religious leader the world has ever known. The impact of his life is immeasurable and continues to grow. Could I then get you to substitute something in place of "carpenter" that more accurately and less offensively describes Jesus of Nazareth, please? Starting next year? We shouldn't be afraid to say it, should we? Isn't that kind of PCness in violation of some BadWeB creed or something? I guess what I am saying is that if you truly desire to wish me a "Merry Christmas", please do so without the PCism; it offends me greatly. I would defend any other national day of commemoration similarly... Do we celebrate Martin Luther King Day merely as the birth of a "clergyman"? Do we celebrate July 4th in America because it was merely the day our nation's founders signed and sent a letter to the King of England? Do we commemorate 9/11 because that was the day some hijackers knocked down a few buildings? How's this... Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, with best wishes for blessings, peace, good will, happiness and prosperity for all! If I missed anything, please feel free to make additions. Thanks, I know you meant well and that is what matter most. |
