Man, I used to love that show when I was a kid. Now aside from the obvious need to see the new Daisy Duke, I am almost as intrigued to see how Willie takes to the role of Uncle Jesse. |

He sure does look like Uncle Jess. I still think Knoxville is hilarious so that should be good. I think Ashlee looks better than Jessica but that is just me. I will just settle for Jessica I guess. |

Why did they take MT/Rs off the Rubicon and put on Mall Terrains? It does not make any sense. |

well, my father is a hard core mopar junkie, and ones of his close buddies owns a huge mopar parts and restoration bizz in Alabama. He's supplying Warner Bros. w/ 25 '68 & '69 Dodge Chargers for the show... |

I didn't think it was a big deal at the time, but now every time I watch them jump the General, a little piece of me dies. They went through at least one car every episode. |

i could be wrong, but i don't know if they destroyed as many as people think. I wanna say they had several cars just for the jumps, and were able to reuse some, and then they had the cars for the close ups or whatever, and i know several of those have been restored and are still around. John Schneider has one, and i've seen a few at some of the bigger Mopar shows.. but alot were still destroyed, for sure.... |

they also had a special general lee version of the charger that they sold. |

I hate to admit that I know this, but the the car count for Chargers used up in the show was 253. They tried to get at least three jumps out of each jump car but as the jumps became longer and higher, cars got used up quicker. When the series ended, there were about a dozen Generals left that were eventually sold to enthusiasts through the Dodge Charger Club of America. The president of the club, Wayne Wooten, was the administrator of the sale at the request of Warner Bros. Being a Mopar guy is a lot like being a Buell guy, you latch on to the most minute details about things like this. I'm both, so I'm really warped............ |

There is only ONE true General Lee. The studio can't change the paint scheme or the car! That would be like not having a red Grand Torino with a white stripe for Starsky and Hutch!! Now Jessica Simpson playing Daisy Duke...I can live with that! |

Angelina Jolie would have been a better casting! Daisy was smart and sexy! |

They gotta have the flag! That's is what I thought was the coolest thing about the car when I was a kid. Also that it was orange (my favorite color). |

I heard from a reputable source that the Flag will not be on the roof due to "Racial Concerns." That is just insane it is not the General Lee without the flag. Hey I wonder if it will even be called the General Lee. That might cause some angry feelings among those who were in the south during the war. Oh wait that would be no one. Put the damn flag on! |

I agree with stealthxb, Angelina Jolie would be a much better Daisy, but Jessica ain't bad on the eyes either. Another thought, what about Carmen Electra? Keep the flag, that says something about the good ole country boys, gitter done!!! |

For the first time in, oh, 25 years I don't have a cool Mopar in the garage. The daily drivers are still Mopars, a Jeep Cherokee and a Dodge Neon Coupe, but right now, my Buell obsession has taken center stage. I recently sold a '71 Satellite Coupe with a built 383 and I also sold my '78 Magnum stock car. I'm always looking though for more. It's a sickness I tell ya! Right after I put together a Firebolt track day , and find an X1........ How 'bout you? |

U4euh... Carmen Electra as Daisy...now we're talking! I like that idea. It will be a travesty if the General Lee does not have the flag on it. Hell with that logic it probably won't have a horn either! |

well Ayde, like i said, my dad is the junkie. I definately got the fever, too, just not the dough to acquire anything.... that said, Pops has 2 original GTXs, a '68 & a '69. He also has a Mirada, which isn't much of a muscle car, and he sold his '70 Challenger RT conv. a few years ago, in order to buy a viper.... The Challenger was by far my favorite. White with red interior, it was a beautiful car..... |

Carmen Electra is hot but she is no Daisy Duke. Daisy has an inosence about her, Carmen dosen't even come close to that. |

Is she wearing rigger boots? Also I'm sure Catherine Bach never had thighs that big. Any of you Mopar junkies got a pair of hi-po heads for a 318 lying around? My '68 D100 could do with them to make better use of the edelbrock & 4 barrel. drop me a PM if you can help. ta. |

Sorry I'm not up to speed on all the numbers, I'm just on the lookout for some tuning gear to go with whats already on the motor, Edelbrock performer intake, 4bbl Holley, & Hedman headers with dual exhaust. There ain't no speed shops in this part of the world that speak Mopar, if it's not Bowtie or Oval they don't recognise it. |

The only heads for a 318 that could be considered "hi-po" would be the casting #302 head. It was on 318's with throttle body fuel injection from 1986 thru 1991, or in other words pre-magnum. Any wrecking yard will yield these cheap as just about 2/3 of the B-series vans and D-series pick-ups were fuel injected 318 powered. Stay away from the common mistake that many make by putting 340/360 heads on a 318. The chamber is too big as well as the valves to give you any cylinder pressure. |
