Photos get downloaded and archived onto computers for faster loading a second time. If such photos are found on some machines in certain places, lots of trouble can be gotten into. A Badweb with out any avatars worked best, looked less like goofin' off. Ditto the comment about monitor position at work. | ||

Most of you have not heard the story of one of our very own......cough...cough...BLAKE and the "Church Lady" whilst assigned to some super secret defense project. If I had to register my opinion, it'd be for no avatars. The last thing I want is a client walking in while a big pink •••, no matter how appealing I may think it is, pops up on my screen. But...hey, that's just me. Court By the way, if you think your employer doesn't see your screen, toss in another 8-Track Bubba. Over 70% of Fortune 500 firms monitor as is their well established right to, e-mail, telephones and faxes. Try loading that Avatar at HD and see who is on the other end of the phone when it rings. a thought not UNRELATED to my desire to not have them or profanity of any fashion on this board...can't help those who can't help you | ||

Personally, if the gal with the pink tush were posing differently it would most likely not be considered tasteless. However, with her tush pushed in your face, it takes on a tacky perspective. Additionally, I thought the butthead was funny. I also did not consider it offensive as an avatar because it was so small and dark that the only way to see what it is was to click on the profile. I also thought the Heywoodjabuellme meant something along the lines of "Hey would you sell/give me a Buell." Now with all the controversy am I to assume it mean something like "Hey would you "F" me?" I dunno. Just an opinion of a man that loves women and good humor. | ||

I hear what you're saying XB9er. I've just been through a suspension of my own. "I'm standing up for my principles!", I fooled myself into thinking. Later I realized that my "principles" were just an excuse to act like a child. There are way more important issues in life than these Buell forums. What avatar is allowed or not allowed isn't worth getting all worked up over. | ||

I didn't have a problem with the avatar myself either, hey I read magazines like Cosmo that has way worse pics, BUT I agree Blake was polite and it's his board !! Whining is not attractive, and the avatar isn't worth it in my opinion, let it go like as adults we sometimes have to do !! And bringing in others to the argument really is childish !! Funny how sometimes the biggest complainers are the one's who visit and post on this site the most !! I could give or take the avatars. If anything, I'd rather see a true avatar implementation - in that you upload an avatar pic separate from your personal pic. On whether or not Pinky was offensive, it's a slippery slope. If a stand were not taken, I can see where we could easily slide into a board where we have to wade thru death postings with fifty "RIP bro" replies by hipocritical posters preaching gear and safe riding. I've already seen "+1" replies here. Gads - If you can't form a sentence's worth of commentary it ain't worth posting. Whatever is done, it needs to be uniformally applied. I'm still seeing at least one other avatar today that is [actually] risque. 9r's was simply cheesecake, and it was even bike related, whereas the other one I would draw attention to is not. | ||

I would certainly not expect you to keep your mouth shut, but I would expect you to do as our host asks, simply out of respect for him, and for the fact that he let's us come over and play. the right to remove your post stems from the fact that I have is that I've been asked by the owner of the board to remove posts that contain, among other things, personal attackes, warrented or not. I did so. I will continue to do so. I'm a strong beleiver in free speech. I also strive to be a guest that will be asked back. they are not the same things. I'll keep removing your posts for as long as they deserve it. now, if you've something to discuss with me, please feel free to do so, one to one. ok i got something to say then ill leave this situation alone, i have been coming to this site for awhile now. I love this site its full of information and freindly people, both new mebers and old. what gets me though is that it seems like the newer members that are poping up seem to be better behaved then the older ones (they dont fight with the costodains). Also i look up to the most of yall and hate seeing yall fight like little kids. So common guys were all soposed to be freinds lets get along. | ||
